  • Step into the heart of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where I ventured to explore the infamous Cité Soleil. Situated within the bustling metropolitan area, Cité Soleil epitomizes extreme poverty, overcrowding, and violent crime solidifying its status as one of the most dangerous places on planet Earth. Join me as I uncover the raw realities of this community in today's video, where every moment holds the promise of the unexpected. Brace yourself for an immersive experience as we delve into the depths of Cité Soleil and witness what unfolds in this challenging environment. This video was filmed last year.

Always remember that if you can wake up, eat 3 meals, have a nice car, and have a roof over your head you must be grateful because there are so many people around the world that don’t have the luxury to live like you. And it’s so sad because it’s not like they’re lazy, it’s because they don’t have the opportunities or means to just live comfortably!

In fact they said exactly the opposite of superiority. They said that it’s not because they are lazy but because of a lack of resources.

Not so simple. If you live on a stolen country, built by enslaved people and indentured servants. And exploit countries all over world, you would be able to afford 3 meals day ,houses, healthcare... But, the "chickens are coming home to roost"..

You could see there were issues there even then .
We saw the poverty, huts, military with guns .
We actually saw one family butcher what looked like a cow .
We rode horses up to the citadel.
The people begged us for money, cigarettes, food , we were instructed not to give them anything and not to take anything from them.
One person in our group however did give this horse handlers cigarettes and was mobbed!

I sure as hell was wondering how much this guide even got paid risking his life and putting himself in danger of being kidnapped for some out-of-touch Western youtuber who's just exploiting him for views. Probably a pittance, a laughable sum at least by Western standards, especially when your client is someone well-off.
Then I found out that this guide ACTUALLY got kidnapped. Which made everything I was thinking about that all the more poignant and harrowing. And what did this dickhead TH-camr even do to attempt to rectify the situation, not just in the immediate aftermath but following. Probably very f*cking little if anything.

A very rich French colony...and the French were the ones who devastated and cursed Haiti to be what it is today. But I guess one thing does remain unchanged...the descendants of the slaves from then are still slaves to this day.

Thank you Chris and Shaun for highlighting the plight of these lovely people. I was in shock the first time I saw this video. Now all I have is tears. My heart really goes out to the lady making the cookies.
To think how much we complain when the sun is too hot, or somebody jumps the queue when we’re waiting for a bus to take us home from work.
This lady is doing her best to survive, and help her community.
I feel so helpless just watching as these people have to eat dirt to live.
I wonder if funds can be raised to help this community? So even some kind of bakery can be opened or some kind of ingredients can be sent to help these people?
What hurt my heart the most was when the lady said she feels as if she is already dead… she just hasn’t been buried yet… 🥲
I can’t even imagine the hardship, and pain. And to top it off the violence…

You trashed it, never built one single road or bridge. Didn't lay down one single railway track. Why can't Haitians do anything themselves ? I know, cuz racism.

    • @classtime9873
      @classtime9873 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@russianthotbot6997 we were given??? Haitians never received anything that would actually help them be productive. Every single racist nation would make sure that nothing happens in Haiti no matter how much money is sent by putting corrupt people in charge and protecting them until these corrupt people realize that they are trashing their own country. Haiti becoming productive would be a menace for people like you as being the first free black nation. Many other black nations would be inspired by Haiti and would become productive themselves, which would’ve been devastating to white nations. White racist nations cannot survive without chaotic African nations because most of their goods come from these nations. It’s another form of slavery, they used to take their boats to drag people out of their homes to work, now they make their homes a hell so they won’t have no choice but to risk their lives to come to them. (And of course give people like you bragging rights to make you think you’re better and you should shit on weaker ones without knowing what exactly is happening)

I will say that in the future, be kind as to not touch or move people. Your guide was kind in his response but it was obvious he was off-put by your physically moving and repositioning him. You must master the art of controlling and positioning yourself to catch the shot and tell the story. Same with the music. You are the outsider welcomed to gain knowledge and understanding of their story. Don't ask the locals to change or fine tune their actions for "sound." Get to know him first and the situation may have worked naturally in your favor.
Again, great work. And I thank God for sending your feed my way. .. Bless the People of Haiti!!!
