Tbf he can storm a pre war tech company kill hundreds of synths, recoved lost tech, track down and kill Kellogg, storm fort strong, kill a behemoth, find the storage of mini nukes, build a teleporter and infiltrate the institute, build key components for a giant death bot, extract an institute scientist, convince the scientist, storm a nuclear bomb storage in the middle of the glowing sea, put down a synth infiltrator/talk down the elder, storm mass fusion and fight hundreds of synths, steal a beryllium agitator, come out alive from the battle of bunker hill in a 3 way fight, support liberty prime, storm the institute and rig it to blow in a couple days, lyons has nothing on either the lone wanderer or sole survivor
Imagine working your whole life to reach sentinel rank and some scruffy looking radiation herder drifts in from the wasteland and gets it, just because he wanted a room in your base to keep his collection of interesting looking salvage in.

The fact there is only 2 Sentinels and the player is one of them in the ENTIRE Fallout series is mind boggling to me. Sarah was a badass that's a given. But how did a frozen pre war Tv dinner become Sentinel so easily.
I also want to clarify that knights produce and maintain equipment only in the West chapters. Lyons fully integrated knights into combat wing of the brotherhood together with paladins. And maintaining and production of equipment falls onto the scribes. You can see it in 3, and Maxson kept this thing going in 4.
It's weird though because while a huge portion of knights are fulfilling combat duties, there are also a few knights who still fulfill some of the maintenance duties (this is mostly in Fallout 4 rather than 3). But for example, in Fallout 3 you have the quartermaster in the Citadel (Durga), who is a knight and she can repair your weapons, but only to 50%. condition. Then in Fallout 4, you've got Cade who is a knight-captain and is the lead medical officer. Administering medical exams and assisting Ingram with the development of her prosthetic legs. Gavil is a knight-captain in charge of logistics, and Lucia who works in logistics. Larsen is a knight, but also a medic (a role traditionally assigned to scribes). But yeah, most knights fulfill a combat role now, although some seem to supplement the duties of scribes.
I think that it feels a bit strange to have nights produce a large amount of the equipment and also perform active combat duties as I would think that they might try to separate those two jobs into two roles in order to allow for specific specialization and a bit more specialization into one or the other

Not exactly. This video is about the East Coast BoS, specifically the Lyons Model, but the original West Coast BoS uses the Lost Hills Model, which has the paladins as the combat arm, while scribes deal with computers and information, and knights maintain equipment and perform scouting duties
Aren't Ingram and the Scribes constantly tinkering with power armor and weapons in that big room with 4 power armor stations in the Prydwen? Plus theres dialogue about Proctor Ingram supplying power armor mods (That IIRC never actually appear)
I thought that too but the tech is complex and they are the ones using it on the field. If they don’t understand how their gun/equipment is built then they don’t understand how to fix it when it breaks mid fight against super mutants. Which means they die

What ending of NV (assuming there are multiple, I haven’t finished yet), is canon? 3. What is all considered canon? Obviously the main 6 games, but what about the board games, Fallout Shelter, or any other media?
1) I hope if it’s titled New Vegas 2, it’ll continue from the end of NV, maybe a few years after. Doubt we’ll see the courier again. Maybe male protag is Arcade. Female is Cass. 2) I’d figure NCR ending as canon. No particular reason outside of the ‘good endings’ being canon in the past. 3) just the 6 games are canon.
@@N_orte I always throughly that if any of the endings were canon it would be either the NCR, Yes man, or Mr. House, yes man might happen just to spite Benny on the couriers revenge quest, the NCR could just be the Courie seeing how evil Caesar’s legion is and deciding to stop it, and Mr. House might just be the courier doing his/her job and then continuing it further.

The high elder and the council run the Brotherhood from the Lost Hills HQ, and they in turn are reported to from the different Brotherhood chapters. I might be remembering wrong though.
@@ravner4322 The council is comprised from the elders. The high elder is the defacto leader of the brotherhood, even if he's somewhat held under the scrutiny of the elders council.
High Elders are usually those of the Maxson dynasty, but highly accomplished Paladins can become High Elders, usually if the Maxson descendant is too young to be High Elder. Ask Lyons.
Squire was also used in the early Brotherhood as essentially equivalent to "private". In 76, one of the Appalachian BoS ragequits because he couldn't handle the name change and thought Squire was demeaning.
If there's one BoS I like it's the Mojave chapter forced into hiding because they were almost Annihilated the elder does start to see the errors and becomes willing to ceasefire with the NCR and they do work together, the f04 BoS is my least favourite because of how they think and act
Difference between Lyons and the Sole survivor is experience. Lyons was an elder of a dying militaristic group of zealous soldiers thinking they're the big cheese of the wasteland while the Sole survivor was a veteran and active service member of the US military and probably had access to a lot of cool shiet in the military when he served at Anchorage. Reason why we didn't need power armour training because he himself already has experience using one during the war.

I think being a field scribe would be the most interesting role. You have a gun, and need to contribute at least a little in combat, but you aren't a direct soldier and because of your expertise are more likely to be protected, but you also get to go out, adventure and discover "new" things which would be really cool in my opinion. Dangerous, but very exciting.
Can’t forget about high elder. It’s the final position and is supreme commander over the entirety of the BOS. Only three have come to power in BOS history, starting with its pre war founder John Maxson. Probably not coincidentally, all three High Elders have come from the Maxson bloodline. Kind of like how the founder of America George Washington, is the only 7 star military general to hold the position lol.

Scribe has three groups. Sword, shield, and (pen, I think? Maybe quill?) sword scribes work on weaponry, shield scribes work on armor and defensive stuff, quills work on preserving and gathering old tech

Squire seem to be a relatively new rank within the brotherhood (first appearance being fo4), and as we know east coast and west coast brotherhood have slightly different ranks and roles. One example is who handles production and maintenance of weapons, knight or scribe? East coast and west coast handles that differently.
There is one more rank too , the absolute high elder of brotherhood of steel which is somewhat a legendary title but it is referred to the highest elder that has the absolute authority in the brotherhood central command in lost hills

One thing I’ve always found funny about the brotherhood is that they never saw their insanely rigid ranking system and highly exclusive invitation system to be a flaw of the organization. Then you see them in New Vegas and they’re like a shell of what they used to be back in California during fallout 1 and 2 and even then they were pretty small in number. They even notably got their asses kicked by the NCR during New Vegas and hid shortly thereafter which is where the courier eventually finds them, hiding in a bunker because they don’t have the manpower to fight anybody. Their recruiting system clearly is a flaw because with this rigid and bias as fuck system they can never grow an army that can actually accomplish the mission that they’ve set out to do since the beginning, and much like the enclave they refuse to change meaning they’ll never win. And I wouldn’t be surprised if at some point we play a fallout game where we can actually just straight up wipe out an entire chapter of the brotherhood. I know you can kinda do that in fallout 4 but none of the decisions in that game feel like they have any weight to them whatsoever. Like Bethesda could just as easily tell us fallout 4 isn’t canon and I wouldn’t even be upset about it lol. Literally nothing of value would’ve been lost other than the more streamlined gameplay which is admittedly pretty good.
What I like about fallout 1 is that you go on a harrowing quest into one of the most lethal areas in the game and they barely accept you in as an initiate and that's as far as you get
In Fallout 4 if you reach level 80 before reaching a certain point in the story, a couple of the generic NPC’s around the tarmac fortification at the Boston airport will be Sentinels (this is the highest). At least one will have have T-60E armor and rank and file soldiers (usually) have a full set of BoS heavy combat armor and an automatic laser or plasma gun with some high end mods. They may respawn as a higher rank but if you never side against the BoS and kill them at least once it’s unlikely you’ll see them as anything higher than Star Paladin if most players finish the game with the BoS before roughly level 65.
I love how this all known knowledge and then in the show suddenly adults are squires too and their explanation is "its a different sect of brotherhood" like thats gonna change how their rankings work (the show is a 9/10 but its just weird that they changed it)
The Minutemen are the only faction that tries to make Commonwealth better. The BoS in Fallout 4 is "You're being saved, please do not resist" It's true only for Fallout 3 BoS.
@@Sayansundupovdifferent approaches. Minutemen defends commonwealth citizens and settlements, brotherhood attacks commonwealth enemies. BOS is the only faction to actively assault supermutant, gunner, and raider camps/strongholds, while minutemen is the only faction to occasionally spawn squads within settlements doing patrols. Railroad on the other hand is useless, while the institute is downright evil.

An interesting concept, borrowed from Dragon Age, would be to be born into the faction of your choosing, and decide where you want to go from there, with other factions and the general populous having a bias towards or against you depending on what option you choose.
Well generally in a fallout game, you are meant to be neutral to the wasteland. Most player characters are from vaults or were somebody who wasn’t known in the general world of the wasteland. The closest that has come to being born into a faction was in fallout 2 where you’re born into a tribe albeit made of vault dwellers. It’s a good idea but I don’t think it matches the “pave your own path and make your own choices” kind of thing fallout is good at.
@@earlofill2580 Well you could argue Bethesda do a lite version of that with the different races and reactions in Skyrim. Personally I think it would be cool to have alternate starts for Fallout and TES fully integrated into the game. They could even just have it as a new game plus feature, choose a background and start location the second time round after the neutral first playthrough. I think this is unlikely, due to the amount of work, but a cool idea.

If i had to choose irl id probably go for the scrybe path its more safe, i mean if you are an elder and you have to choose who send on a very important quest that requires some deathclaw riding supermutant extermination i think in will probably not send any scrybe there or atleast not without any paladin
In fallout 4 you can get the sentinel rank usually just have to murder everyone that you like in that faction and the other faction then your character just sounds depressed all the time

Scribe has three groups. Sword, shield, and (pen, I think? Maybe quill?) sword scribes work on weaponry, shield scribes work on armor and defensive stuff, quills work on preserving and gathering old tech

Squire seem to be a relatively new rank within the brotherhood (first appearance being fo4), and as we know east coast and west coast brotherhood have slightly different ranks and roles. One example is who handles production and maintenance of weapons, knight or scribe? East coast and west coast handles that differently.
What about aspriant?

Lmao, so true. The only time BoS were the good guys is Fallout 3. Didn't played the first 2 games but I can say that for the 3D games.

Every fallout game I have my own progresses to where I'm a part of the enclave and the brotherhood of steel and I got Max rank on both sides

One thing I’ve always found funny about the brotherhood is that they never saw their insanely rigid ranking system and highly exclusive invitation system to be a flaw of the organization. Then you see them in New Vegas and they’re like a shell of what they used to be back in California during fallout 1 and 2 and even then they were pretty small in number. They even notably got their asses kicked by the NCR during New Vegas and hid shortly thereafter which is where the courier eventually finds them, hiding in a bunker because they don’t have the manpower to fight anybody. Their recruiting system clearly is a flaw because with this rigid and bias as fuck system they can never grow an army that can actually accomplish the mission that they’ve set out to do since the beginning, and much like the enclave they refuse to change meaning they’ll never win.
And I wouldn’t be surprised if at some point we play a fallout game where we can actually just straight up wipe out an entire chapter of the brotherhood. I know you can kinda do that in fallout 4 but none of the decisions in that game feel like they have any weight to them whatsoever. Like Bethesda could just as easily tell us fallout 4 isn’t canon and I wouldn’t even be upset about it lol. Literally nothing of value would’ve been lost other than the more streamlined gameplay which is admittedly pretty good.
Lancers are former Enclave pilots, prove me wrong.
What I like about fallout 1 is that you go on a harrowing quest into one of the most lethal areas in the game and they barely accept you in as an initiate and that's as far as you get

Based on what I've seen in FO4 of the BOS's flying, they don't seem to be picking the best and the brightest for Lancers.
In Fallout 4 if you reach level 80 before reaching a certain point in the story, a couple of the generic NPC’s around the tarmac fortification at the Boston airport will be Sentinels (this is the highest). At least one will have have T-60E armor and rank and file soldiers (usually) have a full set of BoS heavy combat armor and an automatic laser or plasma gun with some high end mods. They may respawn as a higher rank but if you never side against the BoS and kill them at least once it’s unlikely you’ll see them as anything higher than Star Paladin if most players finish the game with the BoS before roughly level 65.

I used a mod to restore a cut content that promotes me to Sentinel after using the Minutemen to make the Institute go boom.

I love how this all known knowledge and then in the show suddenly adults are squires too and their explanation is "its a different sect of brotherhood" like thats gonna change how their rankings work (the show is a 9/10 but its just weird that they changed it)

The Minutemen are the only faction that tries to make Commonwealth better. The BoS in Fallout 4 is "You're being saved, please do not resist"

@@Sayansundupovdifferent approaches. Minutemen defends commonwealth citizens and settlements, brotherhood attacks commonwealth enemies.
BOS is the only faction to actively assault supermutant, gunner, and raider camps/strongholds, while minutemen is the only faction to occasionally spawn squads within settlements doing patrols.
Railroad on the other hand is useless, while the institute is downright evil.

I don't even remember hearing any plans about taking the Wasteland for themselves. They just want to do science, destroy the people that bother them, and then do more science after.

An interesting concept, borrowed from Dragon Age, would be to be born into the faction of your choosing, and decide where you want to go from there, with other factions and the general populous having a bias towards or against you depending on what option you choose.
Well generally in a fallout game, you are meant to be neutral to the wasteland. Most player characters are from vaults or were somebody who wasn’t known in the general world of the wasteland. The closest that has come to being born into a faction was in fallout 2 where you’re born into a tribe albeit made of vault dwellers. It’s a good idea but I don’t think it matches the “pave your own path and make your own choices” kind of thing fallout is good at.
@@earlofill2580 Well you could argue Bethesda do a lite version of that with the different races and reactions in Skyrim.
Personally I think it would be cool to have alternate starts for Fallout and TES fully integrated into the game. They could even just have it as a new game plus feature, choose a background and start location the second time round after the neutral first playthrough.
I think this is unlikely, due to the amount of work, but a cool idea.

If i had to choose irl id probably go for the scrybe path its more safe, i mean if you are an elder and you have to choose who send on a very important quest that requires some deathclaw riding supermutant extermination i think in will probably not send any scrybe there or atleast not without any paladin
In fallout 4 you can get the sentinel rank usually just have to murder everyone that you like in that faction and the other faction then your character just sounds depressed all the time
