Counts your blessings Paul. Life isn't meant to be rainbows and pots of gold. It's a life long character building process. Keep smiling and count the blessings you have. Bless you all
Man ain’t that the truth😂
Very lucky Paul that the wrecker got you back to the road, that would have been a long walk back in deep snow. That would have made for some language that couldn't have been included on the video. Great to see the old Packard start up.
I swear, if I was younger I would adopt Lolly. She's feisty! Fit right in with my own sassy daughters.
I just love that young lady with spice & attitude to go with it & great humor . Well I know what she's had to deal with y'all .

Gotta love Grandma, she made my day with that custom panel job... lol
That moment of pessimism from Paul when the rig started tapping was a real surprise. It's either really rare, or carefully edited out of most of the videos. Hang in there Paul. Easy to forget the blessing when the details get messy.
Ya gotta love Moms….. she don’t care about your chrome strip she cares about her baby boy 😊
Enjoy those awesome moments with Grandma Lolly
Love the videos!!!
The chrome on that Packard is amazing. Still shining as the day it was new.
Chrome stays minty out in the dry West.
It's so good to see how you treat your boys with respect, thanking them for helping you instead of demanding it.
Agreed ... The best way to raise an adult is to treat them as an adult.
He's way less bitchy towards them than he used to be.
Woo-hoo upgrade on the tow-truck 😂 I know the feeling, just beyond being disappointed to the point of being ridiculous 😞
I know that, just every time I buy a car, it breaks. Tried super trustworthy stuff, a new one, old shitbox just doesn't matter something always breaks, so I've given up on it and just go with the flow
Those big blocks just can’t handle all the PPM’s ( Pauls per minute) LS time 😎🇺🇸
Merca !
The motor going down maybe bad luck, but you made it out without walking. I would count that a win. Beautiful country in your videos. Love it.
Now we get a lil glimps of what Hunter looks like when he's older by seeing his "real" dad! lol
It’s so cool to see packards on the channel I love 25 minutes away from the packard proving grounds and 40 minutes away from the packard plant in Detroit
Facebook market place, has new and used Packard parts, cordalane, Idaho, lots of pictures, clutches, differentials, new parts in boxes.
Paul don't worry about that chrome strip, that's back when they made real chrome.
The side “chrome” on the cars was not chrome plated, it was stainless steel.
Paul an easy way to check the points, condensor, ignition, hook up all your wires place the test light on the distributer side of the coil and crank the engine over. If everything is correct your test light should blink on and off each time the points open and close.
Your Grandma reminds me of mine. I hope she’s looking down on me smiling
Sorry about the motor, if possable i woeld love to see a tear down of it to see what went wrong.
Paul i give you credit had that been me on the trail when the truck started knocking, I would have been using every word under the sun and slamming stuff. good to see you guys staying positive!
You have to keep the Rat Rod Wrecker going. It is an icon of Fab Rats. Get a good LS in it and it will be a beast of a recovery tow truck.
Gotta say Paul. I dig the way you handle all the luck. That big block sure has given you fits. Stoked to see an LS swapped into it.
That popping could be a flat exhaust cam, no place for the compression to go but back up the intake.
Brings back memories of a ‘57 Ford my sister had years ago. She was given the car and never changed the oil. When I changed the oil ir was tan and looked like it had sand in it. After the oil change it made a noise like that wrecker. A couple of days later it laid down. On inspection the cam was in three pieces. Several years later I was back in Jacksonville and the car was still behind the shop with weeds growing up through it.
On the upper hand, great day playing in the snow with the kiddos!
You've raised some fine young men. Thanks, guys.
Some days yer the windshield, some days the bug … today you were the bug , but tomorrow’s coming . And another great video of ya putting in a new LS.👍
My 10 year old kid walks in the room... Paul " normally I'd be pissed off right now" we both started laughing 😂😂 one of my favorite channels these days🏁🇺🇲👀
Grandma is the best love that lady!!
Gotta love that grandma!!
Builds character Paul. You got this bro.
Love your attitude Grandma Lolli. They need you to do the intros.
Sorry to see the wrecker is down again. But, you keep your attitude good and just deal with the situation!
Paul..
You need a Packard Helmet to save yourself a little pain.
LS is in your Future.
Great video guys
Clayton's cool!!! He reminds me of one of my uncle's in Arizona! He's got a great channel too!! He dose killer finish work on custom home's. You guys are my new family.god bless America the land that I love!!! brother skinner, brother on the block!
"We'll go pull the dipstick out of my OTHER packard"...
Merlin to the core. 😂 I think they might be closer related than cousins.
Loved Grandma’s quick fix body work….that swift kick!
When the tow truck started making noise I said out loud exactly what Paul wanted to say with the same look in my face bc I been there with my one dump truck..
I would like to see you Cummins that big boy! Bit, I understand how cold would complicate things with one.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that has their junk lay down on them at the worst time....
You've got a great family there, Paul. Speaks to good parenting. As for the Rat Rod Wrecker, I'm sorry the big block is causing grief. I hope the LS swap goes well because I love that wrecker and want to see it back on the job!
Its so cool to see Landons truck out in the snow. I really like square body step sides.
Paul leaf-blowing the hantavirus everywhere! 😂😂
Hunter when you asked your dad what he had going on for the day you need to plug his channel and then plug his challenger build tell people link down below and put the link! Come on! Spread the love!
One of the great things about a flathead is spark plug accessibility, I would think.
Jace is such a pleasant young man. Landon too. Y’all are doing great as parents! 😊😊
Looking forward to a few clips of him balling again. Kid's got hops!
With my 78 Malibu Wagon I put M/S on the back and carried 75lbs of gravel during the winter.
My 84 Cavalier Wagon 5 speed manual, I put M/S on the front. I tried my dammedest to never stop while going uphill.
My 92 Sierra had BFG A/T. God they sucked in the snow.
My 05 Trailblazer runs M/S all year long.
My best guess is broken valve spring, and the way you've been breaking pushrod guides and I think bending pushrod, id look for valve spring coil bind at full cam lift, , something not right
So Sorry about your Awesome wrecker...
Each time something goes wrong... you make it so much better...
Grandpa Sherm has gotta be so proud....
And praying more offen helps My bad days get better...
Just saying...
I Look so forward to the Fab Rat's channel....
Get Crew... Gramma Lolli is so Awesome...
I love the look of that old car !!
its so great to see a family hanging out and helping others junk the tow truck engine its time for a new one
While Paul was cranking the Packard, I kind of expected him to say my hands are full. Hunter will you hold this "wire"! I'm sorry but the cameraman seems to draw the short straw every time.
Hunter, you sure seem to get a jolt from all this ribbing. Thanks for being a good sport.
Awesome to see the old Packard fire up!
Sucks about the wrecker motor ..
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Love Grandma Lolly! ❤
It’s a win if you don’t have to walk out.
I had an old ford that lost all of IT’s coolent and it was like 20 below zero and that old truck got me seven miles home at two o’clock in the morning.
I figured that every turn of the tires was that much more I didn’t have to walk, it got me home thank goodness.
The car was trying to bite Paul. I don’t think it liked the surgery he was performing on it. Lol. Gotta love the you’ll live comment. From G-Ma the look on Paul’s face was priceless. Keep the videos coming guys.
I like how grandma kicked the chrome lol best part in any of your videos😂 made my day
The last real Packards were ‘56 or ‘57. They made a ‘58, but it was just a rebadged Studebaker.
My grandmother had a ‘49. By the early’60s it was hard to get parts for it.
Paul, I would say you are Very fortunate to have made it back to the rollback. I’d say that was good luck!
Good job helping your Dad young men!
I was hoping Cummins would come to the chat for that rig.Seems it's torque that a tow rig needs.
I have a couple videos about those Packard Eights on my TH-cam channel. Great video Paul!
That’s gotta feel good having your boys working with you 💪👍🏻
Sounds like beginning of a cam going flat. Maybe bent exhaust pushrod.
I’ve never seen a BBC have such problems. Ran stock valve train, nothing roller. Made plenty of power and even more torque
paul you have the same luck i do. Jun 7th last year my jeep got stolen and then had lung surgery on my left one been a year since and still in recovery. So that this point it's just life
Your engine has some sick beats
Those trees show your elevation and how old the forests are out there.
Grandma Lolly is possibly my favorite person in all the world 😂🤓❤️
opposition creates strength! Keep pushing forward, LS power is better power!
I'll bet you could make that Packard engine fit in the wrecker for more reliability.
Hey Paul, I have a brand new set of 4 floors for a 1952 Packard.
And by the way I don't think you spent $3,800 in gasoline which was the base price of that car
If it fits it ships ! 👍
like a kid in a candy store, love Paul's smile as he waits to see if she'll fire off.
Just amazing what y’all do. Making that old Packard run was way cool!!!! God. I wish I had your know how on mechanics
That ticking part at 19:00 was pretty rhythmic though, should be made in to a new Fabrats tune!
I know how ya feel Paul, I have an 04 F350 that's the gift that keeps on taking
OLs story told about Packard dealers told prospective customers to go drive a Cadillac and then come back and drive the Packard and buy it.
I know you're looking to use this for parts (and you obviously know more about it than me) but I truly hope you'll reconsider and give this rig a chance. She wants to LIVE
It's Hunter's REAL dad. Love it!
Man sorry about tow truck. It's a awesome truck. Must be aggravating . My opinion you have the best videos you show the good and bad. Hang in there
first time seeing Paul think ok, this aint no time to fuck around with a broken engine in the middle of nowhere with that snowload. Wise choice to head back with the tow truck and get the Yota🤘
I swear I have smellivision! As soon as you started with the air blower, my nose plugged up!
I really enjoy your program. I want to share a personal experience, my father like you seldom if ever wore his seatbelt, old school. He was driving the same route he drove daily, but sadly he was run off the rode, hit a tree and died. No seatbelt. I pray it never happens to you or anyone in your family. just a friendly comment from a FabRats fan.
I can certainly understand your loyalty to Chevy's
Wow we almost got to see the real Paul when Grandma Lolly started kicking on his precious trim.
Well paul I hope you put a giant 8 liter LS in 👍🏻😎😉
Grandma Lolly for the win!!!
You need to add this video to your Bloopers and Laughs selection! Had me laughing the whole time.
If you need to clean the outside of engines real good. The stove/oven cleaners sprays from Sam's club do awesome. Let it soak for a bit and rinse off. You'll be amazed.
Come on Paul, you had Good Luck for 2000+ miles in the Packard. Don't harp just on the negatives broski!
She's alive!
Great addition to the spare parts department. Boys did good, wrecker sounds like it has a stuck or dropped inlet valve. LS might be a better option for how you use the wrecker anyway.
Landons Ute is looking great
That sucks! Never heard knocking like that….Wow!
There are 2 Packards of this vintage in our junkyard here in Nampa, ID.
The Packard sounded better than the tow truck. Maybe you could just swap the engines. 😏
It's always amazing how you can work on the really old cars for awhile and suddenly they're running again ! 👍
Atta boy Paul! Not even a head’s up. Just dive into it with the blower 😂
I haven’t seen you mention anything about the off road games with Matt this year? I want to make sure you will be there before I buy my passes.
That's love when your mom tells you, "you'll get over it. " bahaha
Me too Paul. 👍👍👍👍🙏. Bad luck
That big block needs to be cast into the fires of Mount Doom.
Paul is blessed to have such good sons.
