- We are both such big music lovers. Jeff plays guitar & piano, we sing together all the time just for fun, love listening to good music, and Jana was a music major in college, so music is a huge part of our lives. We wanted to start doing a series of music reaction videos for our enjoyment and yours! We hope you enjoy!

Great reaction! But if you listen to VoicePlay, you need to use headphones. You cell phone speakers cannot register half of what they do.
We just learned that and are going to remedy that as soon as we can. We recorded 3 videos like this, unfortunately, so we hope to try again with headphones.
We VoicePlay fans are VERY enthusiastic and devoted. I've been listening to and watching them for years, ever since they were on the Sing-Off.
And I love that!! We are becoming fans ourselves very quickly!

Great reaction - I'm gonna take a wild guess that you will love their medley Queen in 5 minutes. As here, it's a video story of their own set to Queen songs with stunning effect. Or, since you love runs, maybe the quieter Tennessee Whiskey will suit your mood. Don't get confused/hung up on the lineup. The core, Geoff (bass) and Layne (beatboxer) have been singing together from middle school, with their first a cappella group formed 23 years ago, and Eli (tenor standing next to Geoff) has been there for the last 12. There's been some movement in the other two, and they've always used featured singers, so it can be confusing at first. Just know that EVERY SINGLE person you see singing with them is an outsized talent...

@@SuttonStops Yep, huge fan, went down the rabbit hole 3 years ago. They regard their work w/ VP as art, and to me, that intensity shows in everything they do. Yes, some spectacular women perform with them. If you haven't heard If I Were a Rich Man/Girl, you must. It was Ashley Diane's first collab with them, and she crushed it. Have fun and I'll catch your reactions as they happen.
Excellent summery. It can take a while to get know what members were when.. Featured vocalists are always amazing.. Hope you decide to jump down this rabbit hole. Though I'm a grandmother now, I have been a long time metal fan. But when I discovered vp I have added them into playlist. They are serious, fun, warriors, gamers and whatever else you can think of..... Also, Geoff has his own channel... You won't want to miss that... Am subscribing in anticipation. 🇬🇧. ❤️

@@SuttonStops Have you checked out their cover of The Dragonborn Comes from the Skyrim video game? Or their Halo theme cover? If not, they are damn good!! If you want more a Capela action, check out Home Free!! Home Free and Voiceplay are the best out there, in my opinion!
@@carladams5891 we haven’t listened to those yet but I’m certainly adding them to our list! And I haven’t heard of Home Free so we will certainly check them out as well. Thank you for the tips!
@@SuttonStops Home Free won season 4 of the Sing Off, the videos from the show might be a good place to start. They're a country-based group but do all genres. They have a lot of videos both as a group and solo. If you do react to them, the Home Fies (Home Free fans) will surely come calling!!

Really enjoyed this reaction. Voiceplay is absolutely amazing. Let me suggest that you react to their cover of Hoist the Colours, from Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Trust me, it is mind blowing.

nice reaction, but you're missing out on all the details and the bass by not using proper speakers or headphones. definitely recommend using speakers as a very minimum, you're only experiencing about 40% of the music experience this way 🙂
i know a lot of fans say that about their favorite artists, but this is very true for a cappella groups. they don't have instruments to fill in all the empty space, so to really catch their voices as intended, good speakers at a minimum, but preferably headphones are recommended. they use stereo imaging in their sound design, and the layered vocals aren't properly picked up on without headphones. not to mention the *very* intricate bass line that the bass singers perform, that are barely audible on a phone.
we dont mean to criticize, we just want to give you the best advice to enjoy the very best version of these voices. because it is an experience like no other, and as big music lovers, i'm sure you can appreciate that 🙂

I enjoyed your guy's reaction. But for accapella groups, headphones or earbuds are Highly recommended. If you truly liked this tho, you'll love Voiceplay's other covers!
We will definitely have to get better at doing this. We just decided to play around one evening and watch and record. Headphones is a brilliant idea!!

OMG!! I loved your reaction and please go further down the Voice Play acapella rabbit hole! Geoff(low bass) also has his own channel and does his own covers. I think you will enjoy Tennessee Whiskey and The Oogie Boogie song. And I recommend Ain't No Sunshine covered by Geoff Castalucci. Voice Play is just one of three acapella groups that I love. Home Free is one and the other is Pentatonix. Enjoy, and Thank you!!

You obviously enjoyed this. If it's your first time hearing VoicePlay you're in for an adventure. They sing in many genres and often do a theatrical version of a song, with costumes etc. I would recomment Hoist the Colours, but we all have our favourites. As Aurora says Queen in 5 minutes, but Boy Bands in 5 Minutes or anything else really, is worth your time.

Omar Cardona (featured artist here) just got all 4 judges on The Voice - one in 20 seconds. Look it up on TH-cam here. I just watched him do Journey's Separate Ways. He's done several things with VoicePlay.
I just found his audition on TheVoice and he nailed it!!! I love his voice!! 🎵❤️
Please check out Voice Plays channel & please check out Geoff Castellucci's channel as well. Geoff ( Jeff ) is the low bass singer in Voice Play. One of his more playful cover songs is Monster Mash. Always keep your eyes on them because they have some funny facial expressions between them. Especially between Geoff & Layne the beat boxer. Cesar, ( the guy with the big hair ) shows some fun facial & dramatic expressions as well.
We dove into their channel after seeing this and we are now completely in love with them! I do love watching their faves and their videos are always so fun to see!!
Loved your reaction. Could you have heard more with headphones? Probably. But the important thing is liking what you do hear and giving honest reactions. I think VoicePlay will blow you away any time you hear one of their videos.
Next, maybe choose a fun one - We Don’t Talk About Bruno. Or their latest - Hall of the Mountain King (where they prove that not only don’t they need instruments, they don’t even need lyrics!)

I found out in another reactors video with Cesar as special guest and the highest note you hear with the three in the middle is Cesar
This one is considered the follow-up to Warrior, deeper in the apocalypse. I'd also like to recommend their version of the Halo Theme. The guest vocalist is Scott Porter, actor from Friday Night Lights. He's also one of the original members of VoicePlay and it's important to hear his comments at the end of the video. A heart-felt and very moving message that should not be missed. Another good one is If I Were a Rich Man/Girl.
I definitely need to hear the Halo theme since I used to play that years ago and so did Jeff! Thank you for watching and for your suggestions!
@@SuttonStops After the Halo watch their Boy Bands in 5 Minutes. The big black guy who drops off the sandwich is the one spoken of. And the man and 3 women off the side during the Walk Like a Man part are the guys spouses & girlfriend. I know the short dark-haired one is Geoff's wife Kathy. That video is a find piece of film making.

We actually watched it on our TV the second time after this and yes, it’s even more amazing! We just can’t record off of our TV and we don’t own a laptop yet. We will get better at it!

@@SuttonStops it is a learning curve for sure. If you can’t have the headphones right now even earbuds help. And I’m glad to hear that you watched it on a bigger screen. A lot of their performances are heavy on the visuals as well. And as others have said always wait until the Patreon roll starts because sometimes they add a little epilogue after the screen goes black. You might also consider putting on the captions as generally Geoff does the captioning and sometimes he’ll put little snarky remarks.
Have to second that you check out their Halloween items as well as Geoff’s Halloween pieces. He’s done too and he’s ready to release one in the next week or so.

@@SuttonStops Hey, circling back to say sorry if my comment sounded harsh. What I wanted to convey is that you can't possibly fully appreciate an A Capella band without head phones, both of them in your ears (not one each). The bass notes and harmonies are to die for with Pentatonix. The panning and stereo effects in each headphone is special. Get a splitter and a couple of good head phones and it'll enhance the listening experience 10 fold.
