OMG your reaction was so cute and lovely ... please make a clone of yourself and the me tje original babe xD . You totaly cool wtf what i write , maybe i stop
If you want to check out Geoff in all his glory, here's a few suggestion: Sixteen Tons, Headless Horseman, Black Bird, and Country Roads. Just to name a few. There are so many to choose from.
Headless horseman is just GREAT!!! And if you want something more appealing to your love for sentimental songs, Shanendoah will make the work... Same range, same lows but with sentimental feel to it!
She had no idea how absolutely correct she was when she said " I bet his range is at least 4 octaves!" and that "She wasn't ready for him to do his stuff!" None of us were! This is amazingly normal for Geoff. Also, Scottish Santa had me wheezing with laughter. I wanna petition to switch to that accent. Great review
A full fiver no less! I can’t believe how much I love the way they sing this song, Geoff is amazing in this! I’ve started listening to it through my headphones as you heard something new every time, and I must have listened to it over 20 times now!
Oh he does this bottom note live, he actually demonstrates exactly this final descent in one of his podcasty videos on his personal YT channel here where he discusses subharmonics.
Came to the comments section specifically looking to see if anyone mentioned that he can and does do that whole descent in one take. So glad you said this. This comment need a more likes so we make sure she sees this. It’s utterly insane to be able cover that much range in such a short span of time :D
My thought was “wait until she finds vid of a live performance” 😂 Especially after predicting the number of octaves Geoff could do and then falls out of her chair when he proves her right in one breath.
Actually, People can even produce a Polyphonic subharmonic Bass, no flex intended, but I am able to do it, if you want a prove, just check my Channel. This is not meant as Advertising, and if the Channel owner wants me to delete this Comment, I'll do it, as soon as she tells me so ✌🏻😊
He name is Geoff Castellucci. He has about a 5 octave range. You need to investigate his solo (that is a quartet or quintet all by himself, layering all the lead and the harmonies) work! He has awesome talent! You will be amazed!
@@StarNanny Geoff doesn't give himself enough credit and his own worst critic. I'd rather him be that way than the exact opposite thinking he is the best singer in the world. He's my 3rd favorite.
Yeah, but. Y'know it's different to be able to hit those notes, just in general and then it's a whole other thing to go from your high notes to your super low *that* fast.
What's crazy is that he can pull this off live too. All of them can. They're crazy talented! They've been getting better and better lately, too. They regularly blow my mind!
Voice play is one of my favorite’s. Would highly recommend Hoist the colors,We don’t talk about Bruno, Dream on, and their latest, Enemy. If you like musical theater they also cover a few like Wicked and The greatest showman. I have never heard anything by voice play that wasn’t worth a listen.
Geoff Castellucci doing all the Geoff things. The last note Geoff hit in the song is an E1. You need to go to his channel and hear his low bass covers. Where he clones himself and sings all the parts. Fun fact. Sandy Claws is Geoff's brother-in-law. Also, check out their Disney medleys. Welcome to the VoicePlay/Geoff Castellucci rabbit hole.
Literally NO ONE ELSE has ever picked up on the vocal backing to the "I'm going to do my stuff" line. I love your reactions in an almost (but not quite) disturbing way.
I know this comment is a year old. But I’ve watched just abt every reaction to this video and I just found this one. That’s one of my fav parts and nobody seemed to notice it. So happy I found one that did
Can't wait for you to get into reacting to more VoicePlay and to Geoff's solo work! Their cover of The Dragonborn Comes has some especially exciting and creative arrangement. (Geoff does most of their arrangements.) And for Geoff's solo work, it's not his most technically impressive but Blackbird is just beautiful.
Actually he and Layne split about 95% of the arrangements evenly, although Eli has done one on his own and co-arranged at least two with Layne including the recent cover of eEnemy.
Sweetie Pie, you had me in stitches. Your grins and grimaces and squeals and little screams and gasps and your whole delighted beaming face just made me smile from ear to ear. And, of course, there's your spot-on analysis. But your animation ... oh my. Glad I'm subscribed. Oh, yes!
I have heard Voiceplay do this song live and Geoff, the bass, hits that E1 subharmonic with the same authority. His chest voice extends down to F#1, his subharmonic register to B0, and his upper range to A5.
@@stacey1schulte, even Geoff doesn't claim the F1, though. It's been fleeting and not consistent. In reality, Geoff only claims an A1-A5 range, since that is his guaranteed, 100% of the time range.
You're such an AMAZING communicator. I really love you videos. You're concise, you get to the point, and you even demonstrate your points showing that you don't just know theory, but also practise. And all comes in a very understandable package. You fantastic and I hope to see you on the top of the vocal coach reaction-tube at some point.
Every day I search for new reactions to Voiceplay, and it's especially fun to find someone who has never seen them or heard them before. Your reaction was terrific! I enjoy your enthusiastic giggles as well as your detailed analysis. Although this piece is a favorite, it is not the best way to get the full effect. Obviously, it was arranged to showcase Geoff Castellucci, the bass, because of the nature of the song. Voiceplay usually gives all of their members a chance to "solo" in each production. Geoff and the beatboxer, Layne Steine do almost all of the arrangements. They produce one each month, taking turns. Whichever of them does the arrangement also does the production, set, direction, plans the costume and makeup. They have outside camera and makeup artists when necessary, depending on the complexity of the production. Two of the men here are no longer with Voiceplay. The bearded tenor left for personal reasons in 2020, and the black baritone left last year to join and sing with the US Navy. They currently have 4 permanent members. Eli (pronounced ellie) Jacobson, the bald tenor and Cesar de la Rosa, baritone/tenor joined last year. They use featured artists to fill out the production. Next watch Hoist the Colours, from Pirates of the Caribbean 3, it has been blowing the minds of reactors for months. Trust me.
Thank you! Now I don’t have to type all that same stuff because you did such a great job of it. 👍🏻 It’s funny how every time I look for reactions I think I’m going to be the first and I see you and Christine beat me to it on a regular basis. 😁
"What the **FAIRY** was that??" never gets old, LoL; it makes me crack up every time I watch your reaction, which I do quite often as it's a hoot. I have a niece about to start a degree in music, so I sent her this and she loved it. Her mother is a graduate of a prestigious Conservatorium as a pianist, and has worked with many classical singers; she also laughed a lot while appreciating your technical knowledge and explanation. Great stuff.
Going the extra mile is absolutely what Voiceplay is all about. Definitely check out more of their stuff. Everything they have done in the last year is on a whole new level of amazing.
First reaction I've seen you do and have to say I am not disappointed. I'll definitely be looking at more. And yes. VOICEPLAY have a lot of fun songs. They are also very creative. They are kind of like the theater kids of the A Cappella world.
Please keep the Voiceplay reactions coming! I DEFINITELLY LOVE your analysis and enjoy your reactions, so organic and honest 💖. Every one of the Voiceplay covers will give you sometjing to comment on or analyse profusely!
You are just a treasure! Beautiful, funny, expressive beyond the normal, smart and vocally just bloody wonderful... oh Fairy Voice Mother, I love you 😀
as much as i love most of the vocal pros that react to these types of videos, you are my absolute favorite!! i never get frustrated with your pausing bc i know youre about to say something smart and funny you are cute as a button
I had a sneaking suspicion your a capella train would make this particular stop, Lolli! Thank you for such a delightful (and delighted) reaction to a fun, dynamic vocal group.
I love Voiceplay's mix and post recording editing because it really enhances their performance in great ways. In addition to that though, I have seen live recordings of them performing similarly EPIC things live so while they do have post production editing they also are all amazingly skilled at what they do. Thanks for your reaction and analysis of what the singers are doing. I love Voiceplay and other acapella groups so please stay on this train of yours
I visited first for the pentatonix reaction, which I have watched multiple times because I am amazed at your audio discernment, I watched this and was pleased to see even more of it. So many are simple "ooh, that was nice" whilst yours reference anatomy and vocal techniques. Please keep doing these reactions, I would like to see your response to the Pentaonix "Daft Punk" medley - it is amazing what they did recording in their home for less than $400 USD. They received a Grammy for it! Any way - thanks for your reactions!
Girl you've just opened up the FLOODGATES for amazing a cappella music. There's so much to see and react to! I personally think you're in my top 3 reaction channels and you JUST started!
Your reaction was one of the most honest, non-self-conscious reactions I’ve seen. I think I’ve watched just about every reaction video to this, and I actually learned a few new things from you. You are only the second reactor who caught that little descending harmonic riff, and the other reactor had listened to it several times before but was choosing not to react but to analyze. So he was not watching (and being distracted by) the video and that’s how he caught it. So very well done. You have a slightly different approach than some of the others and it made a lot more sense to me as a person without musical training. So thank you for that! Your absolute delight was a delight to all of us who love VoicePlay. They are incredible and this is an old video. They’ve gotten better. You might want to check Geoff’s personal channel. He has a few tutorials on how to sing in subharmonics and how to sing very low. He considers himself a baritone, and actually wanted to be a tenor and tried his best while he was younger. His voice has deepened with age (as he constantly laments). So now it’s more of a baritone bass speaking voice. Plus he uses that voice all the time. His wife remarks that she always knows exactly where he is because he is constantly singing. I wish he would do some readings that weren’t quite so spooky. But he does some readings of Edgar Allan Poe and the Jabberwocky and has an incredible voice. He could read the phonebook and I would listen to it. You might also want to check out David Larson. That is who Geoff credits with teaching him subharmonics. Recently I went to his (David’s )channel and found about a 30 minute course on subharmonics. No musical training here but most of it made sense to me and I found it fascinating. I had to look for it but I found a copy of them doing Oogie boogie live a few years ago. The quality is not great because it was taken from my cell phone but here it is. th-cam.com/video/_HwUxb-DDw4/w-d-xo.html&feature=share Fun fact. The man playing Santa Claus is Jeff’s brother-in-law, but it was voiced by Eli (pronounced Ellie) who was the man in red with the Rasal Nesonance. 😉 In their Little Mermaid medley (which is one of my favorites) Geoff is cast as Ursula the sea witch (The beat boxer arranged that one and got to choose who did ehich parts, LOL). I don’t have musical training but it has been reported that he went from a D4 to a D1 in one word. You might want to check it out. As others will, I’m subscribing in hopes that you’ll cover more VoicePlay and also Geoff’s personal channel. I do enjoy the other groups but these guys look like they have so much fun. They are short one member and have been using featured artists a great deal in the last two years. They’ve also done that in the past when they were in transition. So you will see some people that they don’t usually sing with and they’re always listed at the featured artist. If you watch the cover of “Just Sing@, be sure to put the captions on. That will tell you the names of the the many collaborators that they were able to contact for this production.
That was a great reaction! Voiceplay is so under rated... I love when a larger platform finds them and is as amazed as I am!. This song was a while ago...they just keep getting better with every video! As some have probably already mentioned... Geoff Castelluci the base/lead singer in this one has his own channel where he talks about subharmonics and there are videos of them doing this song live... so even with the studio magic on the last note... even live it is amazing! Anything you pick from VoicePlay or Geoff's solo channel will give you new things to be amazed by each time!
Well, dear FVM, I just watched your reaction to this cover of VoicePlay for about the 20th time. The enjoyment that I get seems to be cumulative, so I guess I'd better ration myself lest I explode. Back to the main point, watching TFVM's reaction to this has become more important to me than what she's reacting to. Some sort of metaphoric inversion, I guess. Thank you more than you'll ever know.
10:26 OK, you just won the internet! I watch this portion every day to get my day started. Your reaction is priceless!! I would very much like to see the portions you cut out during editing. I am sure they are just as perfect.
First off, thanks for polishing my glasses at the beginning. Secondly, your expression in the thumbnail is my favorite; Geoff's talent is scary. If interested in more from both Voice Play and/or Geoff, I would recommend their "Little Mermaid Medley" and his cover of "Sixteen Tons". Thanks again for the information and entertainment. Still the best on YT. Love you Lolli.
I was soooooo freaking eager to watch this one!!! I have heard that song a thousand times (and the ending, twice as many times), but I really needed to "share" it with you! So glad you listened to IT... Geoff is a great singer and his solo stuff will also blow your mind if you give it a try. My fellow fairy voice brothers have pointed many good songs (and arrangements) from him so I just will limit my contribution to: anything you hear from him will be EXTRAORDINARY!!! Thank you a lot... And I mean, A LOT!!!
Always love your very detailed, informative and natural enthusiastic emotive reaction. Out of the many vocal coaches/teachers that I have seen react to this particular video, you are the first to notice and talk about Eli's harmonic minor riff descending down. Great catch as everyone tends to get caught up in Geoff and completely miss it.
This was so fun to watch your giddiness and joy at hearing this. Then switching to professor vocal fairy. Love. Please stay on the acapella train. These are fabulous
Well , once again you have outdone yourself. Excellent breakdown of the style and techniques, spot on. However your reaction was an absolute delight to watch. All of Geoff's work should be on your next reaction schedule. You won't be disappointed. Cheers.
This is only the second video of yours I’ve watched (well … I haven’t actually finished this one yet) but you just got yourself a new subscriber. The reason: I’ve seen a lot of people reacting to this video and you’re the first one to comment on that descending harmonic minor riff in the background (sounds like it’s Eli but could be J) when Geoff says he’s “going to do my stuff”. Well done
That reaction to the end actually made me so happy. I love seeing people finding voiceplay for the first time. Geoff has a way of drawing people in. What I need to point out is Geoff does that ending decent live with no issues! Looking forward to you watching some of the newer stuff (their growth over that last year alone has been insane)
Geoff has said that they have a sound guy who knows the group and knows just what to do and when. without him, Geoff said they would have had a hard time getting it right live on stage. He made it clear that it's not just about the singing abilities of the group, but also the support of their sound crew etc.
I look specifically for reactions to this song as it was an instant favorite when I heard it. I've seen a lot of holy crap moments..... Yours is the absolute best so far. I love that you're so animated. Good friggin job. Your editing is top notch as well
What an amazing and informative reaction :) I loved it to bits and yes, my personal reaction was much the same as yours at the end. It is crazy. Geoff is just insane. I would highly recommend one of his older covers - Geoff Castelluci - Blackbird. To this day it gives me chills and I still find it incredibly beautiful. I think you will enjoy it as well!
I watched a couple of reactions but this one is by far the best. you actually made me genuinely laugh a couple of times, great analysis as well as the editing!
Congrats! You are the first reactor I've seen to recognize and predict so early Geoff's vocal range (even though he still surprised you). Subscribing, hoping for more Voice Play! They are unique in the acapella world, often using makeup, costumes and sets (but not always). They also do their own arrangements, lighting and other production elements.
So glad Geoff was able to shake your world as he has done many of us! His cover of "Ain't No Sunshine" is really good as well... well, all of his covers are! Please do more! Lol.
Please do more Voiceplay, there is so much incredible stuff on their channel! I really enjoyed your analysis of their cover and would love to see you analyze more of their stuff!
NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL A REACTION!!! I smiled through the whole video Welcome to the acapella family abbit hole very excited to watch your journey through it :)
You had me at “twang nob”….inadvertently hilarious. Love your videos please keep making these . You have many fans in the U.S. Here’s to a quick 100K subscribers.
I was excited to see this reaction! Voice Play is amazing. Geoff is a beast with a crazy range. He and Tim Foust are very similar. They can both go super low but can also sing in a tenor range without strain or having to leverage their head voice. Your analysis, as usual, was just so outstanding. You are so knowledgeable and I learn something new every time I watch you. And you crack me up. :-) Which is great! Your demonstration/explanation of twang vs. nasal resonance was very cool and informative. As far as Voice Play, I would recommend their QUEEN A Cappella Medley or their Tennessee Whiskey. The video someone mentioned where Geoff talks about how he does the subharmonics is very interesting as well and it sounds like right up your alley. I wish you all the success and happiness with your channel and otherwise, as you so richly deserve, fellow nerd. We approach our channels/reactions in a similar way. I talk about how music can light the world and lift us and bring us together. My patrons often call me Dad as well. Although, you are in a league of your own and way more knowledgeable than I am. God bless you, Lolli.
I'd throw Avi Kaplan, formerly of Pentatonix, in that beasty-crazy-range group too! Yummy, yummy flexible voices, all! 😍 And speaking of Tim Foust and upbeat happiness, I love his mash-up of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay--wow, talk about flexing his range!
Hey Lolli. Nice to see you having so much fun with this one. It feels like a roller coaster just listening to you. You've cheered up my Friday night and for that I'm grateful. Keep doing what you're doing. You are a fairy unicorn.
You, Dear Faerie Voice Mother, are a Diamond. I've listened to this performance before and really enjoyed it on its own and with other voice coaches. But your reaction to this was a force multiplier of my joy in it. Intensely emotional while conveying information that was extremely interesting. Hot Damn! Love ya to pieces.
What a great analysis! I love the way you break down both the song and the voices- and lemme tell you, you will love VoicePlay for that sort of thing. Many of the members have backgrounds working for Disney as performers (the group is based in Orlando, Florida), and as a result character voices are easily within their comfort zones (as you heard in this song, but this trait shows up again in their other Nightmare Before Christmas videos and in quite a few of their Disney medleys. But they can sing more traditionally as well, in a variety of genres, and nail them all. As a group, they have complete creative control over their projects, with Layne Stein (vocal percussion) and Geoff Castellucci (bass, and whatever else he wants to be) taking turns creating the vocal arrangements. The arranger is also responsible for filming and editing the video, and Eli Jacobson (first name rhymes with 'jelly', he's the bald tenor) does the lighting work. As you go along, don't be surprised when you start seeing faces you don't recognize; VoicePlay's lineup has seen some changes since 2020, when high tenor Earl Elkins Jr. (very nasal high tenor in this vid) left for personal reasons. J. None, the black baritone in this video also left the group in 2021 to join the Navy, and has been replaced by Cesar De La Rosa. Earl's spot hasn't been permanently filled, and VoicePlay has a steady stream of featured guest vocalists to round out their number. Oh, and Geoff's range? It's a good 5 octaves, with his lowest recorded note being an astounding B0 in VoicePlay's cover of the Halo Theme. Like everyone else, I'll also encourage you to see what he can do on his solo channel. He's a one-man quartet, and it's absolutely incredible to experience.
I love the range of emotions you went through in the last part Geoff is singing. XD very excited - impressed - just shocked (reconsidering all the choices you made in life)
I'm so glad that you finally found voiceplay!! Now we are ready to enjoy the ride with you to the land of wonders hearing them sing!! You are amazing and im pretty sure you are gonna love their covers!! Cheers from Brazil!! Love you!!!
Damn... I really enjoy watching your reactions to these a cappella groups. Not only are they a lot of fun, but they're also informative and instructional. Keep up the great work!!!
I swear every video I learn more and more terms explained in a way that actually clicks (and forgive the pun, but resonates) with me. Voiceplay's cover of We Don't Talk About Bruno is a favorite of mine and I'd love your analysis!
Voiceplay is known as the "Theater Kids" for a reason :-) They go full blast everything they do. Geoff has his own channel where he performs but also discussed how he sings as low as he does. The group are master arrangers and there are so many little details in their songs that it takes quite a few times to see it all. Love them. Watch their last 2 or 3 songs and you be amazed at how far they have grown in a short time. Great review.
I love your reactions! I'm a HUGE VoicePlay fan. A lot of their videos are full musical theater (including costumes ad sets) with amazing arrangements. Some of the ones that stand out are: Wicked Medley, We Don't Talk About Bruno, If I Were a Rich Man/Girl (from Fiddler on the Roof), My Mother Told me, The Little Mermaid - MEDLEY, MOANA MEDLEY
Fantastic reaction! You could feel your joy in hearing what you couldn't quite believe you were hearing. Lots of good recommendations already of course but I wanted to specifically suggest Sixteen Tons by Geoff from his solo work. No subharmonics but from the notes he hits many people think there must be.
Geoff Castellucci is a vocal wonder, one of a kind that there will NEVER be another of. The talent he displays with that magical voice of his. . .the words haven't even been invented yet to describe it.
Seeing your channel and your reaction to VoicePlay made my day! The musical knowledge you share is fabulous and the enthusiasm, spirit, and joy with which you present it is infectious. VoicePlay takes a song and keeps its essence while VoicePlayifying it. The arrangements are nuanced, layered, and complex, so a listener needs to listen to a song/ medley several times to catch most things. Most videos have subtle humorous bits that often are overlooked the first viewing. I had to subscribe 😘. Stay safe and stay well. 😷😎✌🏻🖖🏻🤙🏻🤟🏻
You have definitely become my favorite reaction channel. Your reactions are unfiltered and genuine, but you also throw in plenty of analysis and demonstration. Plus, you're naturally funny. Thank you, and I hope you react to more Geoff Castellucci.
Oh I love your reactions to voiceplay! I love those guys so much an seeing your true, uncontained excitement for their songs makes me appreciate them in a totally new way. If you want to react to more I'd definetely recommend Hoist the colors, their "X in 5 minutes" are both great and I also love their Panic at the disco part one and two, they are a "Trilogy"(video wise) with their Billy Eilish medley (Billy first, then panic) but every single one of their songs is wonderful in its own way
So excited to see you checking VoicePlay. I only caught the end of the premier, so will go back and listen again from the beginning. Oogie Boogie was arranged by the beatbox, Layne Stein. Geoff has one of the most astonishing drops I've ever heard in his cover of Bill Withers "Ain't No Sunshine" (Geoff Castellucci, his personal channel). I would so love to see you respond to it. It's at 1:30, but you'll know when it hits! In VP's latest, Enemies, Geoff covers from an A0 to D5! And the whole performance is wonderful. But if it's pure fun you want, check their take on We Don't Talk About Bruno. Guarantee it will make you laugh - it's another of Layne's and he'll squeeze out laughs anywhere. (Normally there isn't a lead, each is amazingly talented, and they try to give roughly equal time to each.) They're based in Orlando, all have worked for Disney or Universal. Geoff hasn't had any formal vocal training, just worked hard since he was a kid trying to 'make it sound good,' routinely doing 70-75 recordings before heading to an audition. Yep, I'm totally geeked out on them, just as I am on Dimash and Dirty Loops. Talent plus hard work rules.
@@CynicalTesuji I thought that really deep one was laying with his inhaled phonation. But it doesn’t surprise me at all either way. Update: please note that auto correct once again caught me in its web. In the above paragraph the name Layne was “corrected” to the word laying, resulting in Cynical Tesugi’s comment.
@@janetdw I thought all the inhaled phonation was Layne's work; Geoff has said he sounds terrible trying to pull that off. And when you count in those notes, Layne's range is even broader than Geoff's. Not that it matters terribly who did what; they all sound incredible together, and that's what's important.
@@CynicalTesuji I just reread my comment and was confused by my own words. Then I realized that auto correct substituted the name Layne with the verb laying. I had meant to say Layne did the inhaled phonation. But thanks for catching it. I corrected my comment but added a note saying the original had an auto correction that wasn’t correct so that people wouldn’t be confused by your comment.
Finally!!! Voiceplay. Great to see you on the last stop? of the acapella train and on this Voiceplay caboose for me is the most fun and inventive of the lot. Love the way you musically spot things and later in the video Geoff and the group prove you right. Your call on musically advanced is spot on and they have gotten better since this video came out a few years ago. Your knowledge is first rate. Having said that your reaction to Geoff's E1 was priceless. Yes he is that good and can do it live to boot.
I have been waiting so long for you to discover Geoff Castellucci. I love all the other groups as well but Geoff is a must to delve into. The headless horseman, 16 tons, the monster mash, big john, ain't no sunshine, the bare necessities...and do not discount the ones with Voiceplay as well. This is probably my favorite reaction of yours, keep up the good work!
Check out their cover of "We don't talk about Bruno" and Geoff's cover of "Ain't No Sunshine" among so many others! Your reaction was hilarious!! Glad you enjoyed it so much!!
Loved the reaction. If you’re like the rest of us you will fall into the VoicePlay wormhole. Through the comments I never saw mention of who is who here. Many mentioned Geoff (Jeff) Castelucci singing lead/bass here. The bald guy is Eli (pronounced Ellie). Vocal percussion is Layne. The other two, Earl (bearded guy) and J. None are no longer with Voiceplay. J. None has done some guest appearances since leaving.
Loved your reaction!! ❤️ So excited you found VoicePlay!! I think you enjoy their Disney medleys. Each member is amazing 🤩 Geoff does have his own channel - which is spell binding 😆 Look forward to more VP reactions. Couple of my favorites Daddy Sang Bass, Boy Bands in 5 min, and Warriors.
Ok I really hope you do more Voiceplay, you are super entertaining and actually quite educational, you explained things in ways that made so much sense, great job doll 👍🏻😃
Welcome to the world of Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci's insane 5 octave range. He does a lot of solo stuff too.... Misty Mountains would be a good one to start with, or 16 tonnes. Would love to see your reaction to Voiceplays 'Hoist the Colours' or 'My Mother told me' too....
Geoff ( Jeff ) Castellucci is my favourite basso profondo and he always surprise us with his very low tones next one try "The Dragon born comes and "My mother told me" and "Hoist the colors" . Stay safe
Random Trivia: Geoff considers himself a baritone with bass range, rather than a true bass singer. th-cam.com/video/sVGFTMb_3ns/w-d-xo.html to hear him say it in his own words.
@@glennolson6505 While I don't doubt that the baritone range is the 'center' of his comfort zone as a singer, the fact remains that his vocal apparatus is that of a bass. He's simply worked it well enough to push up into higher registers with skill. You can hear that he's not a baritone any time he talks - the tone and resting pitch level of his voice are 100% bass. Contrast that with Tomi P, who can hit many of the same low notes Geoff does - but Tomi's speaking voice is one of a baritone, not a bass.

Have you heard their version of Lion sleeps tonight? It’s so fun
Have you checked geoff castellucci's channel apart from voiceplay? He has a lot there.
I recommend their cover of Daddy Sang Bass
If you want to check out Geoff in all his glory, here's a few suggestion: Sixteen Tons, Headless Horseman, Black Bird, and Country Roads. Just to name a few. There are so many to choose from.
Absolutely!
All of these, but especially sixteen tons.
Don't forget Monster Mash
Headless horseman is just GREAT!!! And if you want something more appealing to your love for sentimental songs, Shanendoah will make the work... Same range, same lows but with sentimental feel to it!
And his newest Ain’t no Sunshine! It’s markedly different from the Bill Withers version but wow!
Now imagine Sandy Claws with a New Orleans accent.
Or New Delhi.
Santa is actually Eli. LOL
@@judithboulden3456 Nope, it was Geoff's brother-in-law.
Geoff Castelucci's voice is a miracle!
That walking bass line always gets me....a seemingly throwaway second, but damn its good....6:20 in this video...
th-cam.com/video/_HwUxb-DDw4/w-d-xo.html
Here's a video of him doing it live. very impressive.
Actually, People can even produce a Polyphonic subharmonic Bass, no flex intended, but I am able to do it, if you want a prove, just check my Channel. This is not meant as Advertising, and if the Channel owner wants me to delete this Comment, I'll do it, as soon as she tells me so ✌🏻😊
Whenever I need a boost, I watch this vid. Your zany appreciation of this is so satisfying! Freakin' Love You! Continue on!
He name is Geoff Castellucci. He has about a 5 octave range. You need to investigate his solo (that is a quartet or quintet all by himself, layering all the lead and the harmonies) work! He has awesome talent! You will be amazed!
Geoff is absolutely the most gorgeous man ever created. Toss in the voice of a dragon slayer and well... just sayin...
Actually, he, himself, identifies as four octave range.
@@StarNanny Geoff doesn't give himself enough credit and his own worst critic. I'd rather him be that way than the exact opposite thinking he is the best singer in the world. He's my 3rd favorite.
@@kelleyoneal2578 and his wife is gorgeous!
@@drieuxkoeppel8152 yeah. Kathy is beautiful and awesome. It's their 15th anniversary today.
I love that you predicted he has a wide range and you were still shocked by it.
Also really liking the detailed breakdowns you do.
This woman gives excellent delivery to a scene and keeps me engaged. I dig it.
Oihh yes, Hoist the colours for sure. Xx
“My mother told me” would also be excellent if she wants to hear a human fog horn.
@@markschmitz7611 🤣🤣
Don't forget the Halo cover if you want Geoff to go really low lol
WOW! You nailed Geoff's range before even hearing him! Very impressive - great reaction!
(Geoff does most of their arrangements.)
And for Geoff's solo work, it's not his most technically impressive but Blackbird is just beautiful.
Indeed Black bird would be a good recommendation if she's interested in Geoff solos :)
Blackbird and Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold (Low Bass Cover) are 2 of my favorites.
F1 now. Training is awesome
@@stacey1schulte, even Geoff doesn't claim the F1, though. It's been fleeting and not consistent. In reality, Geoff only claims an A1-A5 range, since that is his guaranteed, 100% of the time range.
A0 actually
@@gugmiowas1584, after "Enemy," yes, 100%. On my analyzer, he actually drops all the way to an F#0, but you cannot hear it.
I find myself returning here every once in a while just to watch your reaction to his final lowerestest note. It's priceless.
You won a subscriber. One of the most charismatic reaction artists I’ve seen!
It’s funny how every time I look for reactions I think I’m going to be the first and I see you and Christine beat me to it on a regular basis. 😁
@@janetdw Didn't mean to usurp your position, maybe next time you'll beat me! 🙃
This was BRILLIANT!!!! Loved your reaction!!! Please, do more VoicePlay!!??? 😁🙏 These guys are killing it at vocal perfection!
Geoff is freaking amazing! You should do more reactions to him
Btw loved your personality, you’re really sweet 🥺
Please keep the Voiceplay reactions coming! I DEFINITELLY LOVE your analysis and enjoy your reactions, so organic and honest 💖. Every one of the Voiceplay covers will give you sometjing to comment on or analyse profusely!
You are such a pure Soul. watching you is Quality...
I really love watching someone encounter Voiceplay and Geoff for the first time. Subscribed.
Goeff's solo stuff is incredible too. Check out Blackbird, Country Road & 16 Tons in that order.
The quality is not great because it was taken from my cell phone but here it is.
th-cam.com/video/_HwUxb-DDw4/w-d-xo.html&feature=share
Fun fact. The man playing Santa Claus is Jeff’s brother-in-law, but it was voiced by Eli (pronounced Ellie) who was the man in red with the Rasal Nesonance. 😉
In their Little Mermaid medley (which is one of my favorites) Geoff is cast as Ursula the sea witch (The beat boxer arranged that one and got to choose who did ehich parts, LOL).
Your faces spoke more than your words.
You're such fun to watch. And so informative. And so talented! You're the absolute bloody best!
I can’t tell you the level of joy you give me when you respond to music. You truly must enjoy life. Thank you for making me belly laugh!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love the way you edit your videos-the way the music possesses you and how your so genuine in your reactions! Aaaaand I love the fairy in you!
Your reaction was so entertaining, that I’ve watched it three times now. I will be very interested in any other videos that you put out.
Lol.
Geoff has several TH-cam videos out explaining and demonstrating his use of subharmonics. Recommend you check them out.
Please do more Voiceplay, there is so much incredible stuff on their channel! I really enjoyed your analysis of their cover and would love to see you analyze more of their stuff!
NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL A REACTION!!! I smiled through the whole video
Welcome to the acapella family

very excited to watch your journey through it :)
You are brilliant! I never get tired of watching you and laughing at you’re quirky sense of humour. You’re the best, FVM. ❤️
I very much enjoyed this. You should for sure keep digging into voiceplay. They have so many fun songs.
And speaking of Tim Foust and upbeat happiness, I love his mash-up of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay--wow, talk about flexing his range!
Hey Lolli. Nice to see you having so much fun with this one. It feels like a roller coaster just listening to you. You've cheered up my Friday night and for that I'm grateful. Keep doing what you're doing. You are a fairy unicorn.
"but WHATEVER happened, and HOWEVER it happened, it STILL happened!" well said. Can't wait for more reacts from you.
Oh this was the best! I loved every minute, but especially your reactions to Geoff. ♥
I would LOVE to see you dive more into both Voiceplay and Geoff's solo stuff. All of it is amazing!
That was Fairy F*ckin' Magic! Both the performance and the reaction!
You might be the funniest music reactor ive watched in a while! 😂 Deserved my subscription! 😂😂💓
Ok, I've found a new favourite human. This entire reaction made me so happy
Have you heard of Bobby bass?
@@gugmiowas1584 Who?
If you want to react to more I'd definetely recommend Hoist the colors, their "X in 5 minutes" are both great and I also love their Panic at the disco part one and two, they are a "Trilogy"(video wise) with their Billy Eilish medley (Billy first, then panic) but every single one of their songs is wonderful in its own way
This is my favorite Voiceplay video. Thank you for your analysis
Dang, he beat his record on Halo? I did not know this!
@@janetdw Ah, gotcha!! Autocorrect can be so bothersome! But that clears everything up, thanks!
Finally!!!
They performed this live, and he did it their as well. Anyway Voiceplay are amazing and anything they do blows me away. They are awesome!!!
I really cant get enough of how passionate your reactions are about vocals are
I have been waiting so long for you to discover Geoff Castellucci.
I thoroughly enjoy your combination of highly technical information and completely unrestrained enthusiasm.
Check out their cover of "We don't talk about Bruno" and Geoff's cover of "Ain't No Sunshine" among so many others! Your reaction was hilarious!! Glad you enjoyed it so much!!
Your editing is hilarious. The solid analysis is just icing on the cake.
Welcome to voiceplay. Everything they do is incredible.
I've watched who knows how many reactions to this song yours is by far my favorite
Welcome to the world of Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci's insane 5 octave range. He does a lot of solo stuff too.... Misty Mountains would be a good one to start with, or 16 tonnes. Would love to see your reaction to Voiceplays 'Hoist the Colours' or 'My Mother told me' too....
she's extremely knowledgeable. Its amazing to hear someone talk about it with so much enthusiasm and detail.

I've been waiting for this for so long... Since about the time of the first reaction to Jinjer. Now I'm ready to subscribe.
