    Magnet guide is great and all but can we take a moment to recognize the crazy awesome base you built for this thing?

      hahah thanks. I saw something similar done on an Ultramarines Levi' a couple of years back and always knew I wanted to do something similar

    Perfect timing! I literally just got myself this kit today and was thinking earlier about magnetising this for future proofing when the other weapon sprues come out. Thank you for making this and your other guides, they are all such great sources of both advice and inspiration.

      No problem. I really enjoy making these and providing some inspiration and help back to the broader community. And totally agree on you with future proofing, buying an $80 model is one thing, but I really dont want to spend 10+ hours painting another leviathan just because I wanted to try a new weapon combination.

    • @Skringly
      @Skringly 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree on that for sure. In fact one question you may be able to shed some light on for me, if you've built a resin leviathan, do you know if the arms on this new plastic one would correctly link up to be magnetisable to a resin shoulder/body? I've heard some people say the joints are slightly different in how they go together, but considering you mated resin arms to the plastic shoulders, I want to assume the opposite would be possible.

    • @AmnioticlyTanked
      @AmnioticlyTanked  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Skringly so the connection point between the shoulder and elbow joint are super similar on bothe the plastic and resin leviathian in that they are both male/female thin wide disks. I can't say with any certainty though if the size of the disk is the same or not. If that makes any sense.
      I am confident you can make them work though. Just might require a little bit of cutting.

      @@AmnioticlyTanked Awesome, thanks for your insight. I'm sure it can be made to work with enough time and effort. I plan to pick up the resin Night Lords unique Leviathan at some point and the hope is that I'll have commonality with the various arms be they plastic or resin across both the plastic dread and the resin one.

    The circular vent from the middle of a Mk3 backpack fits in that hole on the shoulder bit perfectly. I then just gently bent the "Ammo pack" from the contemptor melta fist weapon over the hole on the leviathan fist.

    I'd just thicken the elbow joint with thin plastic glue and let primer on the joint so friction holds the arm weapons

    • @AmnioticlyTanked

      If you pick up the ranged weapon kit, there are back plates on it that don't have the hole which could work for you.

  • @nathanthom8176
    @nathanthom8176 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have realised that the shoulder is different for the melee version and the ranged version (area where the cables connect). This means that if you permanently glue the shoulders for the ranged unit you bought, that you now have no recess for the cable to sit. This will mean that you will need to cut the ball joint flush but it would still be flush against a vent and won't 100% look right. There is a small flat area under the vent and I plan to use some real wire and just ignore the wire pieces provided.

    • @AmnioticlyTanked
      @AmnioticlyTanked  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, its definetly something that Games Workshop could have been better at calling out. For mine I permanently attached the bits from the close combat weapons so while I have a place for the cable, I just have an empty socket whenever I put a ranged weapon on.
      The other option that I think another commentor suggested is just leave the cable off, but then you are left with an empty hole on the fists... Idk, doest not seem like there is a perfect solution for every configuration.

    Great video! I want to get one but I'm holding off for the long range version as I already have a resin close combat version. Will def be using magnets though to chop and change with the resin on.
    Love the base you created there too.

      Thank you again!!! I have a resin one for my astral claws army, but never picked one up for a 30k army so figured I would need to grab a plastic one as soon as it came out.
      Honestly though, I prefer the resin one. The gaps on this model are pretty terrible and I am probably going to be spending a good chunk of my time this week clearing them up... I also need to decide which army this guy is going on.
      As far as the base thank you, but I can't take credit for the idea. Pretty sure Mat Kane was the fist person to do it, and then Myles from Lil Legend studio copied him which is where I knicked the idea from!
