Glad I watched this before I started on my dreadnought. Just ordered some 4x1 magnets for this as I used a lot of the 2x1 for the spartan (every option including the combi weapons magnatised) and I have 5x2 for bases if a magnetic case. So glad the holes are pre done so I can just slide them in. Although if you want a easier time doing the inner ring next time I use a cocktail stick or bent paper clip to apply super glue precisely that I have decanted on a pringles lid.
Do you think a 3x1 mm would work? I've never magnetized a model before and I'm still waiting for my magnets/models to get here, so I'm kinda shooting from the hip... Thank you for the video!
Thank you for this video, very helpful! Probably beyond the scope of such a video as it's now an older kit, but would you have any thoughts on how you would magnetise the older Calth dreadnought to work with the arms of the new kit?
A year late, but I have done this! I used a jewelers saw to cut the calth dread arms at the point where the elbow joins the shoulder block. Then with a little tidy up I was able to magnetise the dreadnought in the same way as the resin contemptors. To make all the resin weapons cross compatible with the new plastic kit and vice versa you can similarly magnetise the elbow to shoulder block join on the plastic kit with a bit of cutting and then magnetise the arm to elbow join as in this video. If you have a 3d printer you could print extra elbow pieces and save yourself a lot of magnets, but the magnets are so cheap now it's hardly worth the faff.
With it being a snug fit out of the box if I’m using n52 magnets that are stronger than what you used in the video could I get away with 1 magnet in the arm and 1 in the weapon itself? Instead of two in each gun just using 1
You could do the palm part with blobs of greenstuff and the outer bit with a tiny magnet no problem. If i was playing HH competitively 40k style I’d probably do it, but im happy enough to save myself the hassle and stick to my guns (so to speak) on the fists!

Excellent job, I was just thinking today about how easy it would be to magnetise the dreadnought. Great timing!
Wonderful nice to see indeed that it’s already ready for magnets!!!!
Its really nice!

You’ll really need 4x1s especially in the arm hole otherwise itd fall out!

Ooh, no idea, sorry. Never had that dread. Maybe someone else out there has done this already?

Did you try to magnetise the gun in the fist or is that a bit of a reach?

@@Hearesy could you add how many of each magnets you need in the description please.
