my girl started to mod her 2006 carolla and i was looking for mods to help her with and recently seen your video , great work man very detailed and quality vids
Hey Will nice video.... just want to let others know that installing the camera in the center is also an option. I have done two cars putting them in the center. Posi-tap wire taps are a good way to tap into wires without causing permanent damage. I also helped a friend install both back up and front camera on a XRS. One tip I can give is make sure you leave enough slack on the trunk hinge. If you don't leave enough slack it will put strain on the cable and eventually the cable will short.
Thank you! Glad to see this comment, the great thing with these backup cams is that they can be installed wherever you want! Haven't used Posi-taps before, I'll have to give those a try some time! And yep, I made sure that there was enough slack for the cable behind the trunk carpet, last thing I would want is for the cable to be damaged and needing to spend more time fixing it!
Does this camera have other features that just the rear view camera? For example different t angles or pre collision warning or when unget close to an object etc? I guess u need sensors to get that to work ?
So far I haven't had any issues with it not in the middle, but the camera can be mounted pretty much anywhere so if you'd rather have it in the middle then it wouldn't be a problem!
Good video! I have been needing to get another backup camera. The one I have I think it’s going bad because a bunch of lines pop up on the screen when I go into reverse now. But the other wire behind the radio is most likely for a front camera, because when I put a front camera in my corolla I used a constant on wire so I can view it any any time.
Thanks Brandon! I'm hoping this camera lasts a long time as it was $100, makes sense for the constant wire to be for a front camera. I've been considering installing a front camera myself, how've you liked yours so far?
@@WillChang to be honest, I sometimes forget I have the front camera. I thought I would use it a bunch, but I don’t. Lol It’s just something cool to have.
Brandon I would recommend the echomaster brand if camers.... they produce good images and are designed to be powered constantly so you can use the option when wiring it up and not worry about it dying in 2 years.
How do put back engine mount bolt next to air intake back because I’m having trouble with mine the metal is out line like the bolt has to go in angle but I have no luck
Hard to tell you exactly since I can't see the issue, is it a replacement mount? If so maybe there's something defective with it that's causing it to not line up properly with the bolt holes. The bolt shouldn't go in at an angle, that'll just crossthread it
@@WillChang yeah it’s the transmission engine mount the bolt that is in between the air intake and the battery because I had to rewrite the negative ground cable so I took the bolt off the Engine mount and where the bolt for engine mount the hole is inch off I was wondering what I can do , do I have lift the transmission up little bit to adjust it?
@@Valentinxx66 Maybe a photo? It's dangerous to give you advise without seeing what you're about. Will is right about the mount being a potential issue. sometimes jacking the engine up a bit helps, but be careful where you put the jack!
Thanks! The lens of this particular camera is fixed and doesn't move, if you want a camera with an adjustable lens then this camera might not be the one for you
I'm trying to install a reverse camera on my 2003 Corolla, and I am stuck with the removal of that plastic panel lid. I removed the 3 metal stubs, but it also has a plastic pin located exactly in the center, right behind the Toyota logo, and I couldn't figure out how to remove the panel lid without breaking the plastic clip, yet. Did you just break it? Or how have you done it? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks so much.
Bro, yesterday was the worst day ever ! I left to work, and in our area, the street sweeper passes rarely . Guess what it passed and since my car was in the way they towed it ! 300 to the police station to release it and 380 to the fucking tow bastards ! 😤 and it's cash only !!!!! So I had to go to the bank twice ... what a day ... that money I could have used it for painting the car! Sucks sooooo bad ...

Thanks!
Awesome video man, backup camera looks factory fitted 😎 great job 👍🏽
Thank you very much!
Thanks a lot ,Great illustration Sneaking the wire through the clip hole is a brilliant idea 👍🏻👍🏻

The videos getting better and better.
Glad you think so, that’s always my goal!

Besides parking lines, not really. Angle is fixed and there is no ability to add pre collision warning as far as I'm aware
Incredible voice man! 🍁
Nice vid bro! I’ve been wanting to put one on my xrs too because it’s super low. Now I can put one with confidence.
Thank you! Glad you found the video helpful, definitely good for low cars!
How do you remove the clip that is behind the emblem that is on the trunk lid?
you literally have a video for everything i want to do to my car
thank you
just finished, everything is working great but i installed my camera a lil crooked
So what were your plans to do with underneath the emblem area?
Nice, hope the fact that it’s not in the middle doesn’t affect the alignment too much

How’s the screen holding up presently
Did the car come with those metal peddle covers where can I find them ?
I got them on ebay, they're pedals from a celica gts and I've got a video installing them here: th-cam.com/video/sO4BPuAElUU/w-d-xo.html

What car radio is that? Please post link.
There is a camera on toyota corolla 2010?
Excellent video Will. Can the lens be tilted up or down to get a better view of the rear surroundings?
Thanks! The lens of this particular camera is fixed and doesn't move, if you want a camera with an adjustable lens then this camera might not be the one for you
Looks clean install. I wonder how much it would cost for labour to get someone to do wiring and install?
Depends on the installer, some like to charge more than others. Just gotta ask around to see who can give you the best deal!
@@WillChang If someone came to you though, how much will you charge?
