    Wow, this video was very helpful, I watched other videos that covered replacing the bulb in the automatic shifter, and those videos wanted you to remove the entire center console to gain access to the light from the bottom of the shifter, I had no idea I could just take the fascia off the shifter and take the bulb out that way, this is a huge time saver

      I’m glad you found the video helpful, yeah I never knew why people always took so much apart to service the gear selector bulb, this way is much easier!

    Awesome - thank you. About the HVAC bulbs - buy the 10 pack. You'll drop some, you might even break some. The slots on the back of the ones in the link aren't deep enough for a screwdriver - tweezers in holes in the back worked for rotating them into place.
    Also your instructions for the shifter bulb are several steps simpler than other videos I saw.
    5 stars.

    Thank you for showing the flasher relay location and including the amazon link, you really helped me. I had the hyper blink going on for like a week and couldn't stand it... this was super easy to do, except pulling 2 tabs and pushing down another tab with only 2 hands in a tiny compartment was not fun 🤣You said it was hard to get the stock one out, but at one point I had it unlatched (not sure how) and then stupidly clicked it back into place by accident. If you can unlatch the stock one from it's spot, you can definitely get a better view and grip on those tabs.

    I just changed all my exterior lights to LED’s (except for the brake lights) and my 08 Corolla LE puts a big smile on my face whenever I’m following it and kinda makes my eyes bleed when I’m in front of it. I might have to swap out the headlights with something less bright. I bought the same turn signals listed in the description instead of getting ones with load resistors cuz I thought changing the Flasher Relay would be sorta easy but it’s really not compared to the video. I might get some professional help but I’m not sure atm cuz I’m always at work. But either way, thanks for the awesome helpful video Will!

    IMPORTANT INFO:
    If your dash speedo/cluster lights are not working check your Tail light fuse!, i was working on installing a new stereo and my heater control lights were flickering and i noticed the controls had snapped where the bulbs are this shorted out when i touched it causing my fuse to blow and turned off my cluster lights, after mass amounts of searching i found out the cluster and tail light fuse are on the same connection.
    In the UK my corollas tail fuse was hidden behind the glovebox up the top on the USA models i think it hidden behind the little cubby flap, great video 👌🏻

    Nice video!! All of my interior lights are getting led swapped.
    Ordered a bunch of them yesterday and can confirm that the "sunroof dome" is not a 1157 size bulb as mentioned in the description.
    They are actually "57 Bulbs" aka BA9, BA9S, 53,1895, 64111. I should have just used your links for amazon
    Other than that, thank you for your help :) your tips for getting in behind the HVAC was super helpful, those were a bitch to get lol.

    I did LED in my dome (interior light) and it’s a nice shade of white light, but it’s not bright enough for literally anything. The two in the mirror were the ones I planned next, but if they are anything like the dome light, I won’t change em.
    I did my headlights (dim/low beam) with some LEDs from Amazon, and they are amazing! So clean and bright, I replaced them due to current draw. Halogen draws much more current than LEDs, and I save on power reserves for audio any time I can. That said, your 07 Carolla LE is basically the same car as mine, I thought I’d let u know, if u ever decide to do a stereo system, something about the trunks on those cars do great for the sound of subwoofers. Some cars have the shape and the cabin space that is a sweet spot, the Rollas’ are in that spot.

    i've gone through a few of the corolla clocks,
    what breaks them is that they are plastic with metal circuits, as the plastic heats up it disconnects the soldering. You can re solder your cars clock every summer, but it's a lotta work for nuthin. I enjoy soldering practice, and you can get a lot of the clocks for really cheap from junk yards
    I'm trying to come up with something to do with that part of the console but am looking for ideas too.
    thanks for this tutorial, I'm only buying the pink/purple variants of these bulbs and am about to have the stupidest looking car ever,

    Bro i tried the hvac ones today and it was a fucking bitch. Took me almost 1.5 hrs to get everything off, disconnect everything and the right bulb wasnt working. The rest were. I ended up giving up and figured it was a busted fuse. I tried with two different LED bulbs on the right side and no luck. Its also a bitch trying to screw them in because you need really small flat head screwdriver and even then you need it to be wide so it doesnt mess up the plastic on the back of the bulb. It was the most tedious shit ever. I also disconnected the battery prior to takin out the connections in the back. I cut one of my fingers trying to remove one of those modules

    Didn't check to see if anyone responded with this, but the clock display has poor solder. You can either re-solder the back of the display and sometimes just heat it (but if you're gonna bother going as far to get to it, may as well apply more solder). In some cases, on a super hot day in a dark colored corolla, that's why the clock tends to work, seriously lol. At times the dome won't work regardless. Usually that's the switch not contacting the plate unless you push and hold it. That's a relatively easy, finaggle-something fix.

    Great video. Quick question, how do you change the dashboard lights for the automatic Corolla? There are times where no lights comes on and I can’t see my speedometer at night.

    • @WillChang
      @WillChang  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually don't know, both of my Corollas have the optitron clusters which I believe has lights that aren't replaceable, at least from what I've read anyway. Here's a post I found on the topic, hope this helps: www.diymytoyota.com/corolla/changing-gauge-cluster-leds/

    When you were replacing the dome light, did you notice if that switch is easy to take off and able to be cleaned? Im having issues where I have to jiggle it for it to turn the light on

    • @WillChang
      @WillChang  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t see if it was removable, might be able to spray it with a can of compressed air to see if that can help clean it!

      Not sure on the size, but there's likely some for sale on ebay/amazon. I'd search "2003-2008 Corolla center console screw" or something similar and I think you should find something! Let me know!
