Just bought one used and had the same problem. I didnt want to take the whole thing apart if it wasn't necessary. I'm glad I stumbled upon this video. It worked great thanks!
Thanks for making me look like a hero today! FYI I had trouble getting a hold of the rods in the front so I opened the back part and moved them around a bit. That helped a bunch.
Thank you. I bought mine about 2 months ago for my kid's birthday present, and I finally got him out on it earlier this week on it. The steering has a major give range/slippage.
I am missing the washer piece with the 2 holes that hold the rods in place over the red plastic piece, do you know where you can but replacement parts?
I got to the rods in front but one is stuck and won’t push down into the slot. I’ll try opening up the back area tomorrow to see if I can maneuver them that way
I have just the tricycle without parent steering. We left it outside one night and ever since the steering column squeaks obnoxiously. Where should I oil it at ?
thanks. different problem: the clutch keeps slipping so the pedals won't drive it forward. how do i access the clutch mechanism to see if I can adjust it?
Okay the part like you’re showing to fix the parent steering, mine looks like that in the back part but not in the front part. I need help to fix this!
You can easily remove the parental steering controller from the bottom of the bike. You will need to remove the retaining clip and pull out the steering controller.
Happy Easter! Made my daughter's day! This thing was broken for two years before I got my hands on your video!
Whoop whoop! 😂

Excellent video. Appreciate it
That worked perfectly! Kid was disappointed as he wasn't able to get our help steering. 5 minutes later we're back outside!
Was so glad to find this video. Thanks for making it!!
Worked like a charm. Thanks for posting!
Exactly what I needed. Thanks.

bookbindering - The front wheel is on backwards. Switch it around, that should engage the clutch to move it forward.
Thanks for this video! Do you have any tips on how to remove the white cap? I can't seem to pry it off. Thanks!
I would recommend pulling up and twisting at the same time.
@@kngkam thanks! Was able to get it off by wedging a screwdriver in and hammering it out.
The rods keep falling out, any advice of how to keep them grounded?
Did you ever figure out how to fix it. I’m having the same issue
Did you happen to figure it out?? @@memories297
Hello ,how you open the lid?
I believe I pried it up with a flathead screwdriver.
Okay the part like you’re showing to fix the parent steering, mine looks like that in the back part but not in the front part. I need help to fix this!
Like I’m pretty sure mine came without the white piece For the prongs to go into
Wow - you can see the two steering prongs and no disc? That would be odd.
@@kngkam yea I don’t have a disc. Only the prongs and the plastic pieces.
The child’s steering keeps on falling apart, I tried to tighten it, is there something else I am missing?
You may want to purchase a locking nut to keep it from loosening.
Seems impossible to get those steel rods from under the circular steering piece. Any tips?
Some good long needle nose pliers.
Also open the rear connection point. Rotate the rear hub in one direction and then rotate the front hub in the other direction to free up some space.
I popped the circular piece out and now I can’t get it back in, any suggestions?
Hi, my toddler is ready to ride independently ( without parent control) please, how do I do it?
You can easily remove the parental steering controller from the bottom of the bike. You will need to remove the retaining clip and pull out the steering controller.
Please how do I remove the retaining clip ?? Is there any video on it? Thank you.
