    Is there also a transfer case lubed with gear lube? what part of the trans is so badly strained by mismatched tire diameter and what fluid lubricates that part of the trans? I'm asking because ATF can't be made more slippery due to internal clutches, but gear boxes without such clutches or filters can take aftermarket EP additives like graphite and/or molybdenum that might make wet clutches slip.

    • @kngkam

      I’m afraid I can’t answer your question.

    • @alan6832
      @alan6832 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kngkam My best guess now is that it has a differential with a viscous fluid clutch and that clutch is bathed and cooled by transmission fluid, which then overheats the transmission. So might an aftermarket transmission cooler help? Does the problem apply equally to stick shift cars? Why doesn't the viscous clutch fluid simply become less viscous when hot? like most fluids? thereby allowing more slip? then mismatched tires would reduce traction when hot, but not destroy the trans.

    • @alan6832
      @alan6832 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kngkam can you put new tires on the right with old on the left, thereby matching average tire circumference on each axle? Or put new tires in front? which travel farther around every curve anyway? or adjust air pressure so that all rims are the same height above the pavement despite some tires being new and others worn?
