Gerd is usually indigestion and reflux caused by a lack of stomach acid. LPR is usually a form of indigestion and reflux caused by almost no stomach acid. The symptoms from LPR are caused by the activation of a stomach enzyme called Pepsin that digest protein. LPR can be responsible not only for throat symptoms, but also dental problems, sinus problems, lung problems, ear problems, and eye problems. Basically your body's trying to digest itself. PPI's usually make this condition worse. Remember PPI's do not stop reflux, they only stop acid production. Many people with gerd when taking ppis end up with LPR also.
diet is true, but PPIs dont work for LPR. Notice this video is 4 years old and recent researches show LPR is caused by an enzyme rather than acid itself. The underlying problem seems to be overgrow bad bacteria in the intestines
LPR is absolutely terrible terrible thing to deal with....and for being an actual sufferer of this God awful illness, i wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. She’s putting it so casually like acid reflux is just a simple thing you deal with, put you on some PPI’s no big deal! Wrong! Proton pump inhibitors in general is one of the worst medications to handle this type of illness. It literally just masks whatever the issue is and never gets to the bottom of why you’re having the problem in the first place. And god help you if you get your stomach wrapped around your esophagus and stapled together. That in itself I will never do, I have read and heard many horror stories of people having the Nissen fundoplication surgery. People wake up and be careful of these medications completely wiping out your stomachs acid production from not only being able to healthily digest foods but also protect your body against harmful bacteria’s. I can see temporarily, but hearing how some people have been on these medications for 10, 15, 20 years? It baffles me....I mean i understand you do what you got to do, but just be careful of this. After being fed multiple ppis i got extremely sick eventually and cannot take them anymore...so now I’ve started a more natural approach. LPR is a lot more horrible though because depending on the person you usually get a constant burning in your throat like it feels like your throat is being singed constantly. It’s really not fun. Diet is a huge factor, because a cleaner healthier diet really helps to be able to have some control over your symptoms..but there’s a lot involved..and i wish doctors would try to look more into alternative ways to treat these illnesses GERD, LPR, Etc, what have you...instead of just jamming very dangerous pills down your throat or telling you your just “stressed” or “anxious”...anyway rant over.
How did you over come your problems, what's the thing that works the most? I tried diet, ppis, H2 blockers; everything. Nothing works. Any word of advice please? How are you feeling now?
I wonder if I have this, mine is a tight sensation around the throat and at first I thought it was allergies because I had a constant cough and tickling sensation. Now it feels like my mouth is dry and have a weird burning sensation around the tongue during the night or when I sleep.

I went to an ENT for nose difficult breathing then he suggested me to do Diagnostic Endoscopic Test to find the problem. He sprayed one spray and numbing solution and did the test Thats how its all started. I have continues feeling of mucus in my throat need to always swallow. And some discomfort in stomach and wind pipe im sensing. Im thinking that Post Nasal Drip or LPR are the cause of the problem. If anybody going through the same issues help me to get out of this . I also have sleep issues bcoz of this problem
Hi there, curious to hear your opinion on something, so I made multiple trips to my ENT last year, 4 I believe and he was completely useless. He sent me for a modified barium swallow, the speech pathologist was this arrogant girl who refused to do it tried to tell me it was in my head my hesitation and acid reflux. So I had to go back to the ENT he sent me for a regular barium swallow, since I have difficulty swallowing only got a little bit but once I got it down nothing blocking it so he said "nothing I can do for you see a gastroenterlogist" I felt a little little better but still trouble swallowing especially liquids now it's starting up again, my throat hurts, burns sometimes and feels like my neck is tight, so I will see a gastroenterlogist and hope that it's just GERD.... He said he suspected it was acid reflux or GERD, I currently take pepcid complete before or after meals it helps sometimes but not always, also heard meds for it can damage your stomach if taken for years since you need the acid to digest food. I will see one soon, but I get a pinching feeling in my neck sometimes as if someones choking me gently or that almost scratchy feeling in the back of my throat, it'll feel dry probably because I have trouble drinking liquids. I can't take a few consecutive swallows anymore like in the past when you're thirsty and you swallow 3 or 4 times, now I can only do 2 at most and with a big hesitation between or multiple smaller swallows...it sucks, food is easier in my case but still some days food I feel I have to think about it carefully before I swallow because of how my throat feels, also have this feeling in the back of it like it almost feels like numbish like similar to when you see the dentist so I feel like I can't always feel my food or liquids hitting the back normally which effects when to swallow as well... I hope some of this makes sense. I don't really get the heartburn, once in a blue I do or stomatch pains thankfully but this all started last march 2021 one night when I woke up suddenly witht his feeling like I couldn't swallow, which I read GERD can do even with your own saliva, food or drinks or all of the above or just some of the above.
Two individuals talking nonsense and have no idea! And so does most doctors. I went to the ER 5 times within two weeks… feeling that I was chocking and they said I have Candida. On my 5th ER visit they scoped me and after an upper GI test they found H-Pylori. But looking and doing some research I found out I also have LPR. My symptoms were crazy to the point where I was anxious to sleep not knowing if I would wake up in the morning. I lost 30 lbs in 2 months. I’m on a very strict diet and symptoms got better but I still deal with the upper esophagus spasms, tightness of the throat, thin linings of mucus and always trying to clear my throat, sore throat, slight voice changes, problem sleeping etc This LPR is horrible and sometimes I wish doctors go through it to have an idea what their patients are dealing with. I forgot to mention the dry throat throughout the day and also on the middle of the night.
@@henryaborele8180 Hi, Yes things have improved quite a bit with a strict diet. I noticed if I’m not careful what I eat the symptoms come back. My doctor prescribed me antibiotics and some other meds in total 4 for two weeks. Not a fan of medications and trying to see how well I get the natural way by eliminating sugars, bread & carbs, lactose products, GMO foods, gluten etc. I’m eating mostly veggies, salads, meats (chicken & fish), nuts, organic butter & ghee, eggs & bunch of vitamins.
B6 cures it. Take methylated B6, methylated B complex, magnesium glycinate/lysinate( Dr's Best) and D-limonene. You must focus on your vagus nerve, that's the issue. Vagal tone is the key.

Can linx surgery fix this
I had LINX surgery and unfortunately it didn't totally fix mine. It helped me but I still have some flare-ups.
I didn't think ppi were good for silent gerf
They are not. LPR's problems are due to pepsin, which PPI does not do anything to. PPI only affects acid, not pepsin.
