The main issue is losing the rope. A flashlight doesn't help much in heavily silted area. The cave was very tight, so I am sure it filled with silt very fast.
There are alot of questions surrounding Jennifer tho. If she had very low oxygen why did she go first? Also did she pass the rope entirely or fell short. had she went last, they PROBABLY would have made it alive.

Horrible way to die but at least it happened quick. Jennifer was the 1st to try and swim back to the exit hole but because she had been breathing the bad air, she was likely dazed and oxygen deprived when she entered the icy water. I'm guessing she quickly blacked out and drowned, creating a log jam for the others to try and push through. Ariel was next and I can guess the panic she must have felt when she realized Jennifer was still in the passage as dead weight and Ariel was not able to push her way through nor was there room enough to turn back around. The 2 men suffered the same fate when they entered. Drowning must have happened very quickly.
Yep, exactly as described here by the narrator. One fixed oxygen line would have saved them. From the mouth of the cave, the man staying outside has an o2 tank, or air hose. First one in , fixes to their torso, swims through to secret room. That negates any issue with the air inside, could even increase o2 in the room. Also tie a lead rope to yourself if while following the one already in to insure you don't kick up silt, and with masks and a light. Not a cave I'd go in without a suit to keep me warm and dry while in the water. Sure, it's not cool for a date but also, not a place for a hangout without being able to be down there dry, with air and anchored.

They do not last long but bring two along, attached to your chest will bide you a couple minutes of time in the event of an emergency. And to have only one flashlight for 4 people is reckless.
The big thing I wonder is if at least 1 of the other 4 would’ve survived if Jennifer hadn’t gone first. It’s sad to think that as soon as one person doesn’t make it, the next 3 are doomed as they will be blocked from getting to the exit.
How do we know that she went first? They had to go 100 ft into the cave to reach the hole, and they all died leaving no witnesses. We can only tell the order they went on the return trip due to the order of bodies.
