Caver Trapped Beyond Rescue | The Horror Story of Neil Moss
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 20 ก.ย. 2024
- In 1965, a young boy named Morris Beatzold crawled into a crevice with a dead end. Forty-four years later, history repeated itself with medical student John Jones, who became trapped upside down inside a narrow passage leading nowhere. Both of these accidents share similar causes, which we have detailed in our previous videos. In each case, the men made the same critical error: crawling headfirst into the unknown. What if exploring underground caves by crawling in feet first could prevent such incidents?
Here at the Faculty of Truth, we unveil the gripping story of Neil Moss, a 20-year-old man who descended into a dark, suffocating shaft with his feet first. The outcome, nonetheless, was not as expected. Neil's journey took a harrowing turn as he became wedged in a treacherous, uncharted tunnel. With every passing hour, rescue teams battled against the oppressive darkness and viscous mud, imprinting a poignant reminder in history of the inherent dangers lurking beneath the earth's surface.

@facultyoftruth. I just wondered if they could have used a drilling rig to burrow down to a location close to him and then excavate slowly from there?

You use the wrong type of music and editing for caving. People want to feel horror while feeling safe in their bed. You need pressure and relief in music, not epic excited fear you use.

I love how the community of caving and cavers (or most communities/interest groups) comes together in efforts to get on of their brothers out, despite not even knowing them. Thats the cool thing about different "groups" or "communities" you all gather together under the same love of interest and help each other because it could of been you and you relate to the same interest or activity. Caving looks like a really cool adventure, but looks very sketchy and dangerous in the unknown parts or the highly difficult parts, even if you're a professional. If it looks TOO risky or sketchy, forget about it and live to cave another day. 🙏

Excellent comment 👏👏👏👏👏
From our vantage point, looking at a beautifully animated cross section of these caves, it doesn't seem too bad. The reality is, these are tiny passages, where it is impossible to turn for the most part and often too narrow to even take a deep breath. The people who actually go into these places first, to map the caves, deserve all the respect they get.
What's in there ?! Like seriously ?! What good are they doing to humanity to deserve respect ?! Not every difficult thing a person can achieve deserves respect, " doing what you love", "being passionate" are over praised in today's society all the more when it's purposeless and dangerous. Even real cave men back in the day wouldn't go there.
These days, they probably use small cameras to map crevices like this, rather than climbing in themselves.
These cross sections look horrible

That scary echoing cries for help in that claustrophobic cave would have been enough for for my soul to be lifted from my body temporarily.
I can't really get a solid grip around the fact that you sometimes can get in but be completely unable to get out.
It reminds me of kids/people who stick their heads between the rails of a staircase and can't pull their heads back out. Not really sure why that happens, either.
I think because the dimensions can be just slightly different for example a smaller part of you can get down but then upon trying to go back what you're leading with may be wider. And that matters alot when you're in a tiny space.

@jonathanbirch2022 We are watching a video about someone who got stuck and died in a cave. I don't think I'd describe that as perfectly safe.
How I ever caved as a young man I’ll never know. I found it exhilarating crawling on my belly as my back scraped the cave ceiling. Now the thought of confinement scares me to death. I don’t even like going into the crawl space of our home. Ugh.
Right? When I was young it was thrilling to find a cave and check it out. We were safe as possible about it but my goodness some of the situation were sketchy. I was 5'2 and 100 lbs so I could get to places others couldn't. I ended up going many places that others couldn't, and I found that exhilarating in itself. Now the idea absolutely terrifies me haha.
It’s amazing how we change as we age. I too am quite claustrophobic at 54 years of age. As a young man, however, I was comforted by tight spaces. Wide open spaces terrified me. Now I’m the opposite.

The thing is they were going along a known path and had they stuck with the known path they would have all been able to go home that day. I think the lesson here is that if you're in a known path and where you go to has a name, then it's reasonable to assume every inch of it has been inspected so the fact you find a hole somewhere that no one seems to know before then you should assume that you are taking a great risk. When the expert comes in and knows exactly where you are and why you're stuck, then it was a matter of you simply going back and asking about the location and seeing if there's anything beyond it or why no one else went in there.
The cave rescue organisation would have dealt with disasters such as this, there is no way mountain rescue could tackle this, you need experienced cavers with the back up of suitable equipment.

Stupid dangerous hobby that can give you a horrifying death.
What lies beyond the rocks?
Geodude.
I work in extremely isolated, hot, dangerous regions in the north of Australia completely on my own. But nothing would come close to the isolation of being trapped in a cave barely bigger than oneself.
Think about all the resources, all the energy, time, and hope of the rescuers devoted to save this poor man. A tragic ending
I love to trigger my claustrophobia sometimes by watching videos like these
“Heroic”??? That’s not the word I would use to describe people who venture into insane places underground.
That's White people media for you.
So the fear of confined spaces, claustrophobia was evolved to keep us from making this stupid mistake.
yes sir
Good observation.
its not claustrophobia or some shit like that, you just need a lil bit of sanity to avoid these activities
@jonathanbirch2022 driving a car is a need for daily activities what the fuck is going on in your brain mate, same as like back when humans need to hunt in the wild for food its dangerous than caving but needed for survival. get some sleep kid
@jonathanbirch2022 your parents are right, you are a disappointment
This is sad....although the doctor didn't hear Moss labored breathing he could have still been alive and barely hanging on...What a terrible way to go.
to each his own, but BEST CASE SCENARIO...... what is at the end of these super narrow passages? How is getting stuck like this worth it?
I think it’s the journey, rather than the end, that excites them. Whether it’s worth it, I don’t know. But I think they know the risk like those Everest climbers.
Another god damned tunnel lmao
Another person - “Hey wana go caving this weekend?”
Me - “Err nope, I’l be in the pub!”
Spell check please!
What's with the "wana"? Deep South rural USA lingo
@@michaelciccone2194it’s a typo
Thrilling story, I even felt my heartbeat speeding up, horrifying.
11:30 "courageous caver..." lol im sure most will call him dumb instead.
You’re heartless
I'm one of them
@@karlpelletier3440Heartless but not brainless.
Exactly what I was thinking.
As a philosophy student he would of had a lot to think about prior to his last, lonely and frightening breathe.its the stuff of nightmares
The whole time you're dying you're realizing you did this to yourself
I’m pretty sure you die of hypothermia, you just fall asleep
@@Jordan__Sloan but it took hours before that happened
I had the same thoughts - he must have had some interesting last ones.
I developed a healthy case of claustrophobia in my 40s.
Im thankful that while i definitely have that "explorers spirit" as i call it, calling me to see whats beyond the horizon, im just not tempted to grind through deep underground passages. Theres nothing down there worth dying for.
RIP.
Its such a dumb thing to do.
@jonathanbirch2022no, like leaving stupid replies on youtube videos when someone points out the obvious. crawling in a cave IS a dangerous and STUPID thing to do
@jonathanbirch2022your just showing how dumb you are. This video is literally about how people die in caves..
@jonathanbirch2022the difference is driving is part of life and necessary. Caving isn't
@jonathanbirch2022 give it a rest 😭 nobody with sense would go hundreds of feet underground for FUN wtf
6:22 why on earth would anyone subject themselves to this? I’m getting panicked by just imagining the whole situation.
Crawling into your final resting place in a tomb is badass
What are they expecting to find in these Caves?
Monsters?
Or unknown creatures?
A Passage to treasure?
The deathly hollows 😂
@@ZacharyShindle1-933 No joke though, Something, Or Someone can be somewhere below, There are things in this world that most think are not possible, But we are making new discoveries all the Time...One Day all will be Known 🙏🏽💞💯☝🏽🙌🏽.
That’s my right thought as well brother, what’s they think they would find ? Apart from death . 🤗🍷
Possibly the One Piece
Skiing, skateboarding, football, soccer, basketball, piano, guitar, reading, playing games, sight-seeing, travel, swimming, diving, cycling
Human: let's explore narrow caves and titanic ship

I like your videos because you go an extra mile by adding animations.
You've earned my sub and like.🎉
Great video, I love the graphics and detailed info.
I've been in caves, but my limit is only caves big enough that I can walk in.
Ive been listening to a ton of cryptid, true crime, caving and diving incidents, missing 411, and i gotta say that is a great channel to watch. I like listening while at work but this is something i wanna watch at the house while i relax. Great video, like the actual visuals. Good narration as well. Subscribed. :)
Bad way to go but i think the air was so bad down there it didn't even dawn on him what a bad situation he was in...
Im not claustrophobic... but these videos always make me shiver.
Man this would be never ever my hobby not even with all of my beliefs in afterlife. For sure.
Penny for your afterlife thoughts?
Your videos never fail to amaze and entertain, keep up the amazing work! 👏🏻
