What I never understand about all these caves was who was the first person to ever try? Did they send a squirrel in first?? Why aren't there loads of skeletons marked "here lies the first person to squeeze in here"!!!!!
Exactly. Extremely stupid decision on the teachers part. If experienced cavers struggle with this what made him believe it would be appropriate to subject children to this?
I notice these scenarios all of the time where schools plan field trips for caving. Besides being a ridiculous idea, 99% of the parents going along with the journey?
Just can't see the thrill of this? This cave never has any interesting or amazing features and no rooms to explore, it's just compressing tunnels. I get exploring for unique formations or openings into amazing rooms, but this is just a torture test.
I just can’t fathom this. I have so much anxiety watching on my phone. This is my literal hell. I never wanted to skydive but that sounds WAY better than this 😮
Silliness - there is no guarantee that each time the cave is entered that some feature of the cave walls have not changed, broken, gotten smaller more slippery etc etc.
The way you descrbe the situation and the visual reconstruction really stand out compared to other similar channels. When I watch your videos I grasp for air
I had a friend that got stuck in a cave almost the same as this one we couldn't get any leverage on the rope until an old farm boy remembered an old trick for pulling fence post or almost anything a simple wooden stick with a Y just like a slingshot put the rope over the Y and we had all the leverage we needed worked like a charm lol.
These guys and ladies don’t get enough credit I know it’s specialized rescues so they’re not doing a crazy amount in certain areas but man the cave rescue teams are something else!! Much respect and hope you all get home to your families at the end of your shift ❤
Look, I like to strap steel blades to my feet and chase a black disc across slippery concrete, and try to hit a tiny rubber ball thrown at me at 80mph with an aluminum stick for fun, so far be it from me to criticize hobbies. But seriously, "here's a narrow tube in this rock that is pure blackness, if I can only push my way through I get to more blackness in a bunch of rock." You do you, boo. You do you.
It amuses me how a cave can be named something as sinister as “satans maze” and people are just like “hell yea” on top of that you need a permit AND a key to get in. It’s like crawling into a coffin yo 😭
The allure of caving, squeezing through those tiny openings, transcends mere curiosity; it’s as if the cave itself whispers in the darkness, beckoning each adventurer to be swallowed by its mysterious depths. These narrow passages seem to pulse, waiting for someone brave enough to uncover their hidden secrets. The sensation of becoming part of something ancient and forgotten, where the echoes of distant whispers envelop you, is irresistible. A dark force calls from within, and those who hear it feel that by crossing these thresholds, they’re not just exploring the earth-they’re surrendering to a chilling embrace that envelops and ensnares them.

so many of these videos ended with someone getting so stuck that even rescuers with tools and ropes couldn't get them out because pulling was too painful or just made them more stuck

A church group going to a cave called Satan's maze inside devil's den park is the definition of ironic.
What's scary is that someone had to do that first not knowing where it ended or even if they could get back thru
That feeling when you watch that video in your warm bed: “how smart i am not to go caving”

What else can they do? Maybe a sign with the number of deaths that mentions that bodies were not recovered.
