Sweet deal. I’ve been tuning my cruiser by sound and throttle response but it’s hard with my aftermarket carb that’s bigger than stock. I want to but a gauge on it so I can adjust my mixture more accurately.

So the 12v supply from the bike is purely for backlight only? Will it work only off the watch battery?

Interesting, you use rotella t1? I found T5 and T6 caused a very stiff clutch and dragging plates in one sv, another it just made the clutch stiffer. Also tried delvac same thing, maybe T1 is different.

Did Koso advise distance from cylinder head ?

Yes, i have it farther away from what they wanted but I didnt really have a choice unless I wanted to run 2 gauges and have a read out per cylinder.

finally a clear fitting, is it reliable or is it a bit staggered between consumption / miles?

No issues. Worked great. I adjusted my map from the reading on the gauge. Map was verified on Dyno. Would do again.

The specs of the mini 3 are underwhelming. It’s range is only 12.2-17.2, so it’s you’re not going to know if AFR is in a truly dangerous position. The sampling rate is way, way too low, which is shown by the numbers barely moving when you do a quick twist and release. The AEM X series sample at 50 times per second, and Innovate at 12-13 times. This could well be 5-10, it’s very slow.

The AEM or any other isnt really weather proof either.. The koso seems to be the only really good thing that is weather proof.
Also its atleast better with that range than the general stock ratio which is like 14.5-15 lol, not perfect, but better than just guessing if it goes too hot or not :P

Koso tech emailed me back, confirming my suspicions. They said the sampling rate is 3 times per second. That’s much worse than I expected. As for the AEM gauge, I bought a laser cut 60mm acrylic disc and used E6000 around the gauge rim. It’s completely rainproof, but I wouldn’t want to submerge it (or the bike for that matter).
