Lindsay's dad needs to get a private investigator to look deeper into Jason, his mum and the business. I believe he hired a hitman for her murder, he conveniently left late, had a friend/alibi, couldn't find the house and didn't go in with her as an associate. Gave them enough time inside, parked behind bushes so they "couldn't see" them escape. A burner phone and fake accent, a referred client she cant get a hold of. It was a planned, personal attack. Rip Lindsay

He tried everything but police wouldn't release the files because they say it's an active investigation. This is the main reason why police is not closing this case. Once the case is closed her father has a right to see all the case files and they won't let it happen.

My theory is it was boyfriend's mom or family... they seem really involved in her relationship. She was ready to leave him until they went to spend time with his family, where they probably convinced her to stay with him. It seems very much like a "don't hurt my baby" sort of situation, and he conveniently parks where they can't see the house during the time they were leaving the house. The whole situation is shady

Ever since I first heard this case, I fully believe the boyfriend hired someone to do this. He created the perfect alibi; almost too perfect. He was on camera in another location, with another person, he didn’t go into the house when she didn’t answer her phone and he didn’t see another vehicle, so that would be weird; like wouldn’t you wonder how the couple arrived? Hey Bella, I usually don't comment but this one got me too. I seriously think it was someone close to her (if not her bf). My reasons: 1, everyone worked in real estate, they know buying and moving into a house cannot be completed in 3 days. You need at least 2 weeks to take care of the legal end. 2. The client vetting is seriously sketchy. You realtor makes a file for you, with your name and information... not to mention they need to verify if you can even afford to purchase a home before showing a house to you. A client that wants to purchase a $1 million home in a weekend would need to access to a lot of cash. I would think an entire family of real estate agents would know this.... so the fact that him (the bf), the brother and mom who worked in the same office made this seem normal is odd behavior. 3. Who is this client that recommended them and if she called them (with no answer) was the client spoken to by police? Because if they referenced an actual client of hers how did the murderers get the client's name?! 4. The chat history being deleted is also odd... why would the murderers even care or be able to access her social media accounts (like how did they get her account information)? That all seems like behavior of someone who knows her not a random drug enforcer. I don't think the police looked at the bf's family close enough.

I’m surprised her boyfriend and boyfriends mom didn’t discourage her from meeting them at the house or at least recommended that she ask for a preapproval which would verify they are serious buyers. It's so sad; she took every necessary precaution and the ones she trusted (IMO) set her up. They knew the listing, they knew her, they knew to give the name of an unreachable client as a reference name, etc. The bf and the mom are the only ones that would have known all of that information. The mom had such connections with the local police that it's made the investigation so frustrating to follow. Lindsey knew too much and whatever she had overheard that spooked her so much and had her questioning her relationship and everything else made her a target and a liability that the mom had to get rid of. My gut tells me Jason is involved. Firstly, Lindsay had been looking at breaking up with him. Secondly, the woman on the phone had Lindsay's mobile number, why would she call the house and how would she have the number? I think Jason lied. If there was a call at that time, I think it was for him. Third, Jason did not leave to meet Lindsay until the time he was supposed to be there and his GPS was conveniently not working. Fourth, He arrives and shines his lights in the house, like a signal. Then parks far enough away not to hear screams. Why not park across the road. The veiwer shouldn't know who he is and therefore should take no notice of two guys sitting in a vehicle talking. Fifth, He conveniently had a mate along to verify his version of events. This commonly happens when people are somehow involved in the death of their partner. I also struggle to believe he could get the lock box to open. As he works in real estate, I don't believe he couldn't open the lock box. I think he deliberately messed up the code. I am wondering if he was seeing someone and they hired a hitman or a friend to get rid of Lindsay. The woman could have been their and set everything up, just to put Lindsay at ease.Women are more likely to trust a woman or a couple than just a man on his own.

I saw this case years ago, and the boyfriend was a suspect. She had told her father that she was breaking off the the engagement with her boyfriend, because things were really bad, I believe he had something to do with it. Conveniently he arrived late, knowing how concerned she was, very suspicious, he could have hired someone. I don't believe it had anything to do with drugs.

100% believe boyfriend planned it and hired those people to execute. boyfriend had an alibi, his friend. i can almost promise you that she was excited about this HUGE potential sale and Jason told her to be worried, which made her worried in the first place. he grabbed her once he saw her dead, strategically so if there was any DNA then it could be explained. he made her scared about the situation and purposely got there late. he drove around to make it not look “sketchy” but I bet you it was to show police he was in his car the whole time. a caring bf would sit in the driveway the entire time if he knew his significant other was scared for their life and meeting up with strangers.

@bella your misinformed…Lindsay’s dad did a interview a couple years ago, and a big suspect was Jason’s mother. He mentioned that she told him that she saw something wrong but wouldn’t tell him what it was…. He basically insinuated that the family might be involved in organized crime and a risk of her going to the cops might be the reason she had a hit on her…kinda makes the most sense, probably using the real estate company to wash big money. And yeah, make it messy so it doesn’t look like a professional hit. Also knives are quieter than guns in a populated neighbourhood.

I don't think the murder was amateurish at all - there is no suspect, they got away, no apparent DNA or other evidence left behind. It was brutal and personal, but the phone was bought ahead of time and never used again, there was planning, it was not heat of passion in any way. Her missing messages are key, someone had access and wanted some information to disappear. It is too sad that she didn't take up co- workers on their offers to go with her, and even more tragic that Jason did not get there when he was supposed to.

Exactly, it may LOOK amateurish but the fact there is absolutely no evidence, sniffer dogs couldn’t pick up anyones scent and no one close to Lindsay having an obvious motive I fully believe it was a professional job by someone she didn’t know. It was just made to look like an emotional murder. Also, if it was someone she knew, surely she would’ve recognised them when they came to look at the house and if that was the case, surely that would raise her suspicions and she wouldn’t have gone into the house with them? Why would they go under the guise of being a random couple referred to her by someone from way back when?

Hey Bella, not to be the stick in the mud, and say that your videos are anything less than stellar, because that’s just not true. But I will say with this one I do feel like there’s quite a bit of context missing on why people suspect Jason and his mom. If you dive quite a bit deeper and listen to things by Sheila Wysocki and Menzies dad, you will see that there is a lot more reasons behind why they think Jason is involved. And that Shirley is definitely somehow wrapped up into this. There’s so many things that are missing from this, which I understand because it’s a 30 minute wrapup of the story. But if you deep dive and get into the nitty-gritty of everything that was going on in their lives at the time between Lindsay Shirley , Jason, Lindsey‘s dad. Matt. There’s just a lot. And I think that missing that context, kind of leads people to think that it’s not possible for Jason to be involved, because it was just kind of iced over as oh he left the car place at 5:30 and then he went in at six and found her dead. Little things like he ran directly to where she was. How did he know where she was? How did he know she was upstairs? Also, the fact that Shirley showed up at the crime scene in less than 10 minutes. How? How did she know? How did she get there? So fast? I’m not saying that Jason killed her. Clearly he didn’t. But that doesn’t mean he and his mother weren’t involved in it. It’s very clear that this was a hit. Not necessarily a personal hit like from a hitman, but it definitely was a Target attack for Lindsey. Somebody really wanted her dead and I don’t see very many people that had anything to gain from that besides, her boyfriends mom perhaps ??

It still feels like the boyfriend. He knows how viewings work and how long they take, and unless he is chronically late to everything, and just generally blows her off, he could have deliberately delayed leaving so he would have an alibi. Parking around the corner and where you can't see anything is also weird. Why wouldn't you wait out front? Big house like that has a lot of street parking out front. The whole thing with him is super weird. They were wealthy so he could have paid someone to do it. Anyone who kills people for money are psychopaths so the frenzy wouldn't surprise me, especially if they weren't professionals and just someone he found who would be willing.

Jason repeatedly messed up on getting to the house Lindsay was showing that evening, and didnt even leave on time. He encouraged her to go despite her gut feelings, only take him for protection, didnt go to the house for 35 minutes, & then never actually hurried into the house. He asked people if he should break the window but didnt, asked for the passcode to the door which didnt work, etc.... then after calling his brother + the police: he realizes the back doors are open? I'm so glad you covered this case! I can't explain why, other than Lindsey is around my age and her and her friends reminded me of my friends, but this case has stuck with me for years. I always come back to it and look for updates or for new interviews/podcasts with her dad. Her dad's determination to find justice for Lindsey is another reason why this case stays with me. She had her whole life in front of her and to walk into work and never walk out is just gut wrenching. To me, this had to be someone close to her and most likely related to her boyfriend's family. Her boyfriend was so weird the whole time, his story and actions just are too convenient and the fact he wasn't there says a ton. It almost reminds me of the Adelson family in the Dan Markel case where the entire family was involved and all covering for each other. The connections the family had make finding the truth so frustrating and all I can hope is someday Lindsey gets justice and her dad gets answers. 😢

If he really loved her as much as he said he did, he would have been there on time if not early. He clearly knew what he was doing. Any random person would have no reason to delete her messages. Really the only person who would be able to delete her messages would be the person she was sharing a laptop with. I think he probably knew these people very well so that's why they were willing to help him.

People don't only assume Jason for those reasons though. I obviously don't believe he was that actual murderer however, Lindsay worked with his mother - which could explain how the killers managed to convince Lindsay that one of her clients (who was conveniently out of town at the time) was the one who gave them her personal number.
In addition, Jason ran up the stairs immediately after getting inside as if he knew he would find her there.
Besides being late, him being with a friend (a witness that would side with him), not having his GPS working that day, and moving his car so far away from where he was originally parked to a location where he could not see at all - could easily signify he only put on the lights as a signal and then moved the car to let the killers leave without his friend witnessing.
It doesn't make much sense based on the description of the killers, that Lindsay knew them. It doesn't sound like they did that much to hide their identities. Otherwise, I'm sure she would have confronted them & made atleast some commotion for them lying about who they are?
Meaning that she most likely was set up by hitmen. It could be speculated that she was killed with a knife because that was requested by the person who set her up? To make her suffer more?
Also, the murder is not that amateur. The killers bought a phone months before ever even calling Lindsay for the first time, appears they paid for it with cash, they left no kind of evidence behind including never using the phone again, not even the car they used to get away was spotted... them killing her with a knife could simply mean it was requested or they wanted the "thrill". Doesn't necessarily mean they didn't think it through.

What pisses me off is the bf was late after she TOLD him she felt anxious to meet this mysterious couple. (If he wasn’t involved) he should have shown up early or right on time to go in the house with her considering they spoke about this particular showing beforehand. Things could’ve went differently if he kept his word.

not only being late but then parking down the street facing away from the house!? if he wasn’t involved he’s a total jackass

Lindsay‘s father recently posted on Facebook about how her ex-boyfriend and his mother are suing him or something like that. I personally think they’re guilty as hell.

Bella!! You should do the Springfield three case. By far one of my favourite true crime cases I’ve ever come across

Lindsay was encouraged by Jason to show the home. He assured her he would be there. Jason's mother, a long-time realtor, vetts all her potential clients. Jason in the industry knows the process to qualify anyone, and this was his practice.
So we have one family who encourages a young new realtor to bypass all the precautions they would take themselves.
There is no mystery......money laundering/mortgage fraud, I believe Lindsay saw something.
What colleague,BF, husband would promise to be at the property, then not show up?
    Keep up the good work❤

This case is local to me, still so wild. Hoping one day it’s solved. I recently watched the movie Reptile and I could have SWORN elements of the movie were taken right from this very case

You said they know the mysterious woman used a burner phone can they not go back and use surveillance cameras to see who purchased the phone cause they are obviously involved

I’m unsure if Jason knew but I’d be very interested to hear the family dynamics between Jason’s mom and how they felt about Lindsay and their relationship. I could see an overbearing mother “taking care of a problem” for her son. Especially if it came to business and her knowing something or them not wanting her working with them anymore.

Omg this happened right by the house I grew up in! A block from my childhood home. I remember my mom and I having to detour because of the police & it being blocked off. It was a little scary for me there when I found out what happened, thank you for covering her story ❤ this case still bothers me to this day, I’ll never forget it 😢

definitely the bf/bf’s family for me. i don’t think it was due to something as simple as relationship issues though. i think she must’ve known something she wasn’t supposed to know (potentially came out on the family trip). or maybe she had some sort of shared ownership over something that the bf didn’t want to split and he knew she was going to leave her some time.

As someone from Victoria, in my opinion this was a hired hit on Lindsay. Someone who kills for a living came over here from Vancouver after somebody else paid him for it

I’m not a realtor, but do clients normally take their shoes off? That seems odd to me.

We bought a house last year and our realtor always did when it wasn’t a public showing, so we followed suit. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not sure if that’s typical.

Interesting how the cops call the murder “amateur,” and yet it’s still unsolved. What does that say about the police?

If Lindsay was an informant, LE wouldn’t confirm it if there was an ongoing investigation. Considering she was repeatedly reaching out to former associates who were reportedly involved in illegal activity, I think Lindsay may very well have been an informant.

I've never been so sure about an unsolved murder before but this was 100% a hit man. Knowing that, they were then most likely hired by the boyfriend/family. He also had access to her Facebook and could've deleted those messages.
