    Before yall go crazy in these comments 😂 Let me just clarify... I KNOW Olive Oil can be a penetrating oil. For MY FINE HAIR... it does not work. It is too heavy so a lot of naturals prefer to use this as a sealant. Just because an oil CAN be used as something, doesn't mean it will work for your hair. This is why you just have to do trial and error and see what works for you 😘

      Hair Mary My hair is the same way with olive oil. It makes my hair feels heavy and weighed down.

      Hair Mary I doubled checked before posting. Olive Oil has some penetration but not as much as other oils so you are right. Sciencye-y Hair blog has a great post on the science of this. As well as a chart of oils with their penetration capabilities.

      Girl! lol I swear I've started to have to put those disclaimers in every video because the minute you mention ANY kind of product using it ANY kind of way somebody gone HAVE to comment and correct you or tell you how you "should' use it. 😩 I be like just keep using what works for you, then! Oh bless! I have to agree with your opinion on olive oil-it doesn't penetrate as quickly as coconut oil and avocado oil but that's why I love it!!! Coconut oil leaves my hair hard and avocado oil doesn't make my hair as soft! Fav deep conditioner for strength is mane choice green tea and carrot deep strengthening and restorative mask

    I use the Aphogee 2-minute Reconstructor, to help strengthen and repair my damaged ends.
    Other times I use my OGX Coconut Conditioner mixed w/organic honey. I will put on a plastic cap w/a heavy hat (scully, winter hat, etc.), and tie a silk or satin scarf to hold it in place overnight. It penetrates my hair shaft using natural body heat, similar to a thermal cap.
    (No dryer required!)
    I find it is healthier for my hair and I get little to no breakage.

    People are really cut up with this no silicone shit lol. Some people have been natural years and used shampoo and conditioners that contained these so called forbidden ingredients and their hair still grew. Just another way to suck all your hard earned cash.

      It's not more expensive I find cheap natural products all the time I also had an aunt who got cancer from a sever attack from using products with silicones,parabens and chemicals . Think about it this way would you let a baby use this product. She died by the way and my family is known for being ingredient sensitive . And ask any skin doctor or health trainers natural is better

      HippieDippie Aussie is bae and will forever be bae. I don't get a lot of build up but I also don't use gel on my wash and go's. I do understand that everyone hair is different but I just don't like spending a ton of money on products. So when I found that Garnier, Aussie and Herbal Essence products work for me and I can coupon them I have never looked back, lol.

      loco.for.coconuts 13 the important thing is pay attention to your hair. Mine absorbs most products because it's high porosity. Some people can do it and be fine. I have overconditioned in the past but almost never had issues with too much protein. Some people are the opposite. I overconditioned by leaving conditioner in too long and at those times didn't understand why other people would need to do that. We have to understand why things work a certain way and tailor it to our needs

I dont really know how to read ingredients other than obvious ones so I dont know how to know if its a good or bad one unless theres a review on it already! But i know mineral oil, petroleum, silicones, sulfates and alcohols are bad except ceteryl in deep conditioners... anything else?? But girl! My hair feels bomb!!!!

    Deep conditioners are expensive now. I use to use to cheap packets of deep conditioners and I still use them at time because my hair looked great afterward. I just started using shea moisture jbco strength &restore treatment masque it really like it at first was like idk. I use it like crazy now. I recommend people deep conditioner with heat or a Jt shower with that product.

    Questions!🙋🏽🙋🏽 Do you have any videos focusing on natural hair and sleeping? Or do you know of any?? I did a big chop this year and I'm noticing that my hair on the side I normally sleep on is a lot less thick and lush than the side I don't normally sleep on, which I get much better results from on a wash and go. I had no clue this was a thing for my hair until I cut it. I know the obvious response would be to sleep on the other side🙄. It's not as easy as it seems😏.... Also, my hair is low porosity as well. With some products, during my wash and go, I get a white film on my hair. I can even feel it. It happens mostly with Miss Jessie's gel, but I'm loving the results when I let it air dry completely. Can the film be damaging my hair??

    • @FinallyAmber
      @FinallyAmber  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What you're talking about with you hair is actually very common. Have you ever seen babys with that "bald spot" in the back of their head because they sleep on their backs? Same thing. Are you sleeping on a satin pillow care or using a satin bonnet? If so... try incorporating an oil like JBCO to help aid in strengthening your hair and promoting more hair growth in that area.
      The white film is just build up or excess product. This is common with lop-po hair because our hair can't absorb all the product we put on it to define our curls. It cant technically "hurt"... but make sure you're clarifying at least 1x per month and shampooing with a sulfate free shampoo regularly to keep that build up from blocking moisture.

    • @lesc4180
      @lesc4180 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hair Mary this is amazing advice thank you!!! I am sleeping with a bonnet, but I will incorporate the oil. Should I put it on at night when I'm sleeping?

    • @doThatGWalk
      @doThatGWalk 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Les C Yeah oil before sleeping is fine. I use this hair growth oil during the week. I just use a Satin Pillowcase, no bonnett because I haven't found the right one.

    • @lesc4180

      Thank you for the hair gems sis! Lastly (sorry about all the questions), clarifying and shampooing are two separate things? I know there are clarifying shampoos so I thought that was the same as shampooing lol🤷🏻‍♀️

    And ladies need to stop leaving deep conditioners in overnight. You are not going to get any more benefits after 45 mins!!!!

      nwsupernova Yes, I have. My hair just responds better to overnight deep conditioning. It has worked well for me for years now. My hair is extremely healthy.

      N Rob 🤔 I'm interested.
      I used to sleep in conditioner a long time ago because of my schedule & used to wake up with itchy scalp. Think I may give it ago again since it was so long ago

    Now that you mention silicones 🤔 I do get hella build up on my scalp easily & couldn't understand why. I do use the 3 min aussie moist and who knows if the other products I use have it too 😩 definitely gonna be on the look out for that now.

    • @doThatGWalk
      @doThatGWalk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Infiniti Williams I don't like Aussie Moist either, it just sits on my head. I'm going to give it away. Look for all natural products. They work way better & are better for your hair.

    • @EtherealVibe
      @EtherealVibe 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      doThatGWalk I totally agree w/ you on the natural route. I already make my own toothpaste, deodorant, hair gel, etc. 🤔 I should've been aware of the ingredients in my hair products sooner than this lol but my hair was really acting up & had to look into why. Enough was enough 😤

    • @doThatGWalk
      @doThatGWalk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Infiniti Williams Yeah it matters because what you put onto your scalp seeps into your brain & your bloodstream Look up this shop called Jakela on etsy.com & there is this goodhairgold or something site that I want to buy products from. They have an all natural chocolate deep conditioner. There are still a lot of good brands that are mostly natural like Oyein, Mane Choice, Alikay Natural, Jane Carter, Camielle Rose. Just check the labels. That's good you make your own toothpaste. I never done that before but I do use all natural no flouride toothpaste too.

    • @EtherealVibe
      @EtherealVibe 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      doThatGWalk thank you for the suggestion ☺ I've shopped on etsy before so I'll be sure to check out that deep conditioner. I plan on transitioning to more natural products once I get this job. You're right about on how those things seep into our brain 😥 I want the best for myself. I'm also vegan 🙄 I will be strict w/ hair products like I am about making sure the foods I eat are vegan friendly 🙏

    How do you know your hair is low porosity?...Or how can I find out if my hair is low or high porosity?...

    • @fatima-ww8xr
      @fatima-ww8xr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use the water in glass method. Fill the glass with room temperature water and put a hair string in it. It it float low porosity. If it sink to the bottom hight porosity. If it's in the middle it's normal porosity.

    I‘ve noticed that my hair has deteriorated ever since I started ‘deep conditioning’ exclusively with the 3 Minute Miracle (Jojoba Oil) DC. It’s taken me a while, but I think this might the reason for my now constantly dry hair.
    So yeah, I also don’t think it’s a deep conditioner at all - probably just a really good conditioner. Sigh.

    Just a pro tip look at ingredients not labels brand make kids products to have consumers buying more spending more but most of times it have the same ingredients or similar ingredients it’s just marketing that’s all it is .
    When company’s see that this particular market makes a lot of money they will join that market as well it’s business 101 so buy your products even it’s market towards kids .
