    Your method of deep conditioning for 1 hr under a hooded dryer with a deep conditioner has totally transformed my hair. In just one application I started to experience the difference! Its been about my fourth application. Thank you Kaylyn Ivy for making such a BIG difference with my hair!

    I am so glad u stress the importance of deep conditioning! The problems people have with their hair most times will be solved with regular deep conditioning with heat. I invested in a steamer and that made an even bigger difference in my hair! My fav deep conditioners at the moment are the TGIN honey hair mask and the mielle babassou mint deep conditioner

    • @KaylynIvy
      @KaylynIvy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      +ahall98 yesss I feel like deep conditioning is what's gonna make your hair "cooperate" so that your hair acts better overall. And I really wanna try those deep conditioners ! Especially the mint one!

      ahall98 Yeah but guess what?!? To make it perfect 4c hair, like myself, needs/craves /dye for OILS with the deep conditioning plus heat to make the babe curls pop! I just found out by personal experience, just like she did and works amazingly well 😃

    I saw this video when I first went natural but my hair was pretty short back then and I didn’t see much of a difference. Now, its a bit longer but for some reason it seems so much dryer and I needed a change but didn’t know how to help it. Saw a difference after the first try using this method. Thanks so much for sharing!!

    Girl, watching a few of your videos has made me subscribe. I did a big chop last year (cut off the color and perm) and can't wait for it to grow out. I stopped deep conditioning my hair in between visits to my stylist and just got back into doing it again. I will watch you video for suggestions on deep conditioners to buy. Thanks!

    I just wanted say that im glad someone has said this. I also watched your other video discussing the importance of deep conditioning with heat. I had started doing that almost once a week as well and had noticed my hair started to grow....but being in college and all i had got lazy. So my hair reverted, i am now doing it again and taking biotin with increased water intake and have noticeable differences. I completely agree!!!!!

    don't know if you've ever tried these but i make my own deep conditioner.
    I use Avocado, Honey, yogurt, banana, alternate that with aloe vera gel or cinnamon. all of which is natural. i also make my own leave In which is Coco Butter, Shea Butter and flax seed gel and aloe vera gel. I dont normaly use oils except my scalp because my hair hates the oil plus where Iive causes the oil to work against my hair and leaves it dry.

    I have low porosity, dry natural hair. Recently I have been deep conditioning every week. I use silicon mix bambu deep conditioner (once every month mixed with protein conditioner ORS mayo) with castor oil to my roots and rest of my hair. Then I sit under the hooded dryer for about 30/40 min. My hair has grown so fast and is super moisturized🥰
    Can't wait till its waist lenght!!

I already sit under the bonnet dryer for the dc plus I add honey to my dc since my hair eats it up. I use true dc, sometimes tgin dc both contains honey. I have low porosity, 3c, 4a, 4b hair

    Hello one year later. This video was super useful, a life changer. Since I don't like spending too much time on grooming/makeup/hairstuff I was looking for a solution for my thick tight curly and super dry hair that drives me crazy. The deep conditioning with the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque changed my life forever. I have to say that I add some castor oil and tea tree to the masque and this mixture helps me getting rid of dandruff as well. And it's true, it changes the nature of my hair. I mean it's like I have my soft baby hair again. Thanks for your very good videos about the deep conditioning. My hair doesn't bother me anymore.

    TFS! I usually put olive oil or coconut oil on my hair before the deep conditioner. I also "doctor up" my deep conditioner with oils, honey, cinnamon, etc.

      +Dana Lynnette you're the second person that mentioned honey ! I wanna try it now but I'm scared it's gonna be sticky !

    so I have had that laila ali dryer for over 2 years now and I am always frustrated whenever I am supposed to set it up to use it...u gave me a good idea i'll try using the box it came in as a stand, thanks!

      +buetifulkay12 lmao yes the height is def kind of annoying. The box it came with was too flimsy so luckily I had this box from my stereo 😂 and it's the perfect height too

    My favorite deep conditioner is Doo Gro : Mega Think Intense Repair , Doo Gro : Mega Long Extreme Reconstructor, and Cantu: Shea Butter Deep Trearment Masque.

      I saw the doo gro deep conditioner in walmart but I was on the fence about using it. How does your hair react to it?

    Yes, I love shea moisturizer deep masque I need to start adding olive oil back into it. I think that's what I'm missing

    sitting here deep conditioning right now 😊 I actually use an electric heat cap. I'm using the Pure prepoo for kids today. my faves are the frizz defense raw shea and cupuacu by SM, the maca and plantain by SM, and the moisture max by CRN.
    another thing I like to do is rhassoul and ayurvedic clay masks, I just tired the mask from Carols daughter and I love it.
    you had a video where you mentioned the difference between your hair curling vs your hair coiling, and that is exactly my hair. I love when I get the tight spiral coils.

    • @KaylynIvy
      @KaylynIvy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BklynBabe wow those are some different deep conditioners. I don't hear those names too often 🤔 ! And tight spiral coils are the best !! They're sooo gorgeous and the best part is no one else can have them LOL

      KAYLYN IVY the Pure and True masques are nice and affordable at Sallys 😊 what I can't stand about SM is having to go to 5 different places to find what I like...I find the frizz defense in ULTA and the protein maca plantain in Bed Bath Beyond.

    Hi do you cowash, detangle your hair while in cowash, wash out than deep condition. Or deep condition on hair that isn't clean? I'm still trying to get the deep condition weekly down. Look forward to hearing from you soon

    What dryer do you use to deep condition?

  • @dondrew8319
    @dondrew8319 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    After youre under the dryer with the deep conditioner in and you go to wash it out. Do you watch it out with hot water or cold water?

  • @M3l155a
    @M3l155a 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes. We don’t pay for water in our place so sometimes I just deep condition in the hot shower for 20 mins lol
    If not, I use my hot head cap for 30 mins.
    Does using a hooded dryer make that much of a difference? Just curious.
