I have listened to Ken Ham for years and his teaching has changed my life as many other lives, to believe in the authority of the word of God. Very basic but necessary.
Question: Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. Isn't a day then only approx 12 hours? The day and the evening seems to be 24 hours.
A Hebrew day is Sun down to Sun down. Any portion can be considered a full Day. Jesus told a parable about a land owner that hired workers, some in the morning some later on, at the end of the Day they all got paid the same amount
As a Christian, I was wondering how the Answers in Genesis feel about a Seventh Day Sabbath for mankind to observe? It seems lately that God is dealing with me concerning the Sabbath Day. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!
You may have heard some say that the Sabbath was not reiterated in the new testament. This is a critical observation. The gospels include Sabbath-keeping, because Jesus lived under the old testament rule. The epistles teach us new testament doctrine, and how to worship God. IF God wanted the church to keep the Sabbath, He would've stated it, and more than once. It was given to Israel, and no one else was compelled to keep it. Paul said no one should be judged, in relation to Sabbath-keeping. That means you CAN keep it, if you wish, or NOT, if you wish. We are not under the law, and new moons and Sabbaths are a SHADOW of heavenly things, but the BODY is of Christ. Paul leaves it wide open, for a man to choose how to regard his days, as long as it is "to the Lord." To impose any rule or ordinance, to the church, unless specifically stated, is burdening one with law-keeping, instead of the liberty we have in Christ, by the Holy Spirit. We're under the law of the Spirit, and NOT the letter.
Jesus Christ is our Sabbath (He calls himself the Lord of the Sabbath) Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, and Luke 6:5. He is the only peace and the only place we can rest our souls (e to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest - Matthew 11:28).
Listen, ambu64, MrChrispy777's response and Kitchen Counters are just as bad, you can tell they've spent too much time in church listening to their "pastors". Simply. You should love YHVH's law. The First 4 commandments are how we love YHVH and the last 6 commandments are how we love our neighbour. My suggestion, Remember the Sabbath day and to keep it holy. Love the commandments, HIS ordinances, and HIS statues and don't believe what the church or church people say about it. Keep HIS feasts, disregard all pagan feast and festivals (Christmas, Easter, etc) . Do not listen to those who tell you to stop regarding YHVH's law. The Law is good and holy.
Smart people forget that as humans our key defining feature is that we're often wrong. "To err is human" - Alexander Pope. Everyone references the "evidence" that I still haven't seen of sufficient quality to convince me that it is correct. The next question is "is there anything that could cause your evidence to be faulty?" no one can answer either of my questions. I like things that are logical and for the most part seem congruous to that logic. So far that is only the bible and its face value claims. God knew who he was writing to, and how like sheep (dumb) we often are. Perhaps he opted for the simplest explanation being the best (Occam's Razor). It's God's razor, Occam just borrowed it.
Ken Ham points out the immense importance of believing Genesis over the followers of Scientism, the anti-Christian scientists. If the first page of a book is factually wrong we should throw the whole thing out. But so called Christian’s won’t hold to that consistent necessity
Still, how long was it between the end of creation and the exile from Eden, that time is never mentioned, it could very well have been a billion years until Adam and Eve was exiled.
Could have beeen, but why not two billion years? Really, what difference does it make? Does it really change anything?? Well God rested on the seventh day so I suspect he had completed creation. You think?@@lizekamtombe2223
Sir please enlighten me. According Genesis 1:14 the sun and moon were created on the fourth day. A 24 hour day is 1 full rotation of the sun so how can the first 3 three days be considered regular 24 hour day?
Why can't we get it truthfully right in Genesis 1:5 we are specifically told God called the light day from that we understand God never called The darkness the day but he only called the light day there was evening and there was morning the evening brought the darkness but the morning brought light which God called the day Why can't we understand scripture that states the day was the LIGHT AND NOT THE DARKNESS There was evening and there was morning the first day God called the LIGHT THE DAY Why can't we accept the fact that BIBLICAL SCRIPTURE SAID THAT GOD CALLED THE LIGHT DAY?
I believe in God, but where the day and night came from in the first day while the sun was created in the fourth day? Could the million of years (though I hate to impose it to the Bible) lies here ?
Hi Ezzat -- There are articles on the Answers in Genesis website that answer your questions about the days of creation, such as this one: answersingenesis.org/days-of-creation/days-without-sun-what-was-source-light/ answersingenesis.org/days-of-creation/
Saying the literal understanding of the word day (yom) in Genesis must be 24 hours is wrong. Yom is commonly rendered as day in English translations, the word yom literally is used in different ways to refer to different time spans: Period of light (as contrasted with the period of darkness), Sunrise to sunset Sunset to next sunset Time period of unspecified length (Biblical Hebrew has no word for things like epoch) I looked at the Word of God and it says the Earth is OLD. See: Deut 33:15, Habakkuk 3:6, Hebrews 4:10 and Gen 2:4. The Earth is 4.543 billion years old and this is no problem with the Bible. It is only a problem for Young Earthers. They are the Flat Earther of today. YEC read only one book Genesis. The Bible and science are not enemies. Romans 1:20" For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God." YEC do not believe in Rom 1:20. The world and science deceive us, by YEC logic.
Jeremiah 4:22-28 these verses speak of a time before man yet a civilization existed which was destroyed personally by God Himself. Then the Earth is appointed to mourn and nobody knows for how long. Read it for yourself also read 2 Peter 3:5 through 7 where you will discover a flood that is not Noah's flood (because everyone perished in this flood and it did not cover the mountaintops). Noah's flood covered the mountaintops completely and 8 people and all animals were saved. People read the Bible for yourself, don't let others tell you what it says. Ask yourself "why does this person want me to believe this?" The Behemoth spoken of in Job is an animal that lives beneath the shade trees in the tall grass at the edge of the water, hardly a dinosaur. Read it for yourself. As far as moving its tail like a cedar this is a euphemism for having a "woody", Look up the definition you'll find testicles, tail just means flapping appendage. The subject surrounds "his strength is in his loins" which is reference to his ongoing production of offspring, yeah that "strength." Read it and dig up the definitions. See what you think.
The 6 days of creation don't exist in reality, they represent only some symbols with the help of which the authors of genesis tried to explain to their level of understanding the emergence of the Earth and life on it. The authors of Genesis did not know how this happend in reality, just as they did not know how grass and trees grew on earth, just as they had no idea what the stars are, what the Sun or the solar system is, how eclipses occur, about the water circuit in nature , etc. Let's stop playing in this stupid movie where we pretend we don't understand these obvious things, what do you say, is it possible?

Right!
Ken , now I see why your teaching is so important to maintain consistency of our beliefs in the salvation message (gospel)
Thank God for you and the ministry of Truth you are doing!
Amen!
Thanks for your work, it’s invaluable. God Bless
Brilliant! Thanks so much!

Either way, millions of years is off the table.

Jesus told a parable about a land owner that hired workers, some in the morning some later on, at the end of the Day they all got paid the same amount

Context is everything, Six 24 Hour Days , you can't get more deist that that can you?

@@lizekamtombe2223 according to ham then the bible is fallible if so. That or all of the world's scientists & geologists are wrong

The earth could do a full rotation in the light and the dark from Gen 1:3. God then called the light day, and the darkness, night in v.5.
thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What about Genesis 6,7,8?
the planet is a bit older then 6000 years old

Hugh Ross even admitted that Day in Genesis 1 means literal day, yet still would not concede his millions of years interpretation. How goofy is that.?
