Ken didn't actually answer the question, did he? I was curious to listen to the video and look at the comment section to see if anyone gave the explanation for dinosaurs that I would give. "Nephilim" is the shorthand answer. It refers to the time recorded in Genesis 6 when fallen angels mated with human women and spawned a race of giants. We learn from other ancient writings such as the Book of Enoch that monsters in the animal kingdom were also produced. Prior to the Great Flood, the entire earth was filled with corrupted DNA both in humans and animals. It seems pretty obvious to me that this is where dinosaurs came from.

      @mark2073 ปีที่แล้ว

Because it throws a wrench in a literal interpretation? I used to be an atheist then saw the folly in that since I am scientifically minded and can't deny observations that are inconvenient. I have a different understanding now which doesn't really align with any one religion, I think they all provide meaningful insight but each one ultimately misses the mark in being complete. The problem with formal religion is that a literal interpretation of them actually does disagree with scientific evidence. The world is not 5000 years old. I say, each religion is like that old proverb of several blind people each feeling a different part of the elephant and describing it which is great, but ultimately none of them individually can understand what the whole elephant is like. And atheism is a religion too, it says some good things which is why some people believe in it but ultimately it isn't capable of explaining the world. Same with any other religion. So if I am discussing with atheists they accuse me of being Christian, and vice versa. Such is the consequence of having an open scientific mind and genuinely considering other peoples' perspectives.

    • @mark2073
      @mark2073 ปีที่แล้ว

@@ShoestringRacer I guess you could argue that atheism is not a religion since it isn't really like most traditional religions. Bit it is a belief system. It asserts that there is a set of immaterial laws pervading the universe, possibly all coming from a single unified theory if that is ever discovered, and that these imaginary laws dictate how material things behave in relation to each other, like bowling balls bouncing around independently. And that this mechanistic view of the world can explain everything. Well it can't, the whole story breaks down with any real scientific analysis. It doesn't even really work for bowling balls if you bounce them more than a few times off each other.

That's not exactly it. The Law is given through Moses by the mediation of angels. The words of the Pentateuch are inspired and inerrant, but not in the way you're thinking. You have to start with the New Testament and read all the ancient texts in light of the truth of the LAST Adam, not the first. Then it makes sense.

@@SpiritLife It describes such as you say in Hebrew, in ANCIENT Hebrew, with the word "day" which has ample application of meaning, just as our English word "day" does to-day. For example:
"In the day that you eat of it, you shall die."
Ok, so here God is speaking of an unspecified future time when Adam and Eve will cease to live if they disobey. They didn't actually die right after eating the fruit.
      A modern example would be:
"soup of the day," literally the soup that you can get only that day: "lobster bisque was the soup of the day"
      vs.
"fashion of the day," referring to what's in style for a unspecified period of time: "the corset was the fashion of the day."
Here's the link to the Hebrew. You can see every place in the Bible that the Hebrew word for "day" is found and how English translators rendered it.
      www.biblehub.com/hebrew/3117.htm
But be prepared for a long Bible study. This word occurs well over 2000 times.
Moreover, the definition for a 24 hour day is the time it takes for the Earth to rotate once on its axis.
Therefore, none of this ancient Hebrew is perfectly literal, and those who teach it that way are arrogant and errant.

The official age of the earth has changed 20 times. And it'll change again. Carbon dating has dated a recently killed seal at 1500 years; has dated a LIVING mollusk at being dead for 2600 years. Dating uses circular reasoning as well. They say "We know that _____lived from _____ years to _____years so this new fossil must be _____ years old. That's called a tautology, circular reasoning. @@evasionstudiosco I appreciate your reply and agree that it isn't factual on all aspects. @evasionstudiosco ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@glennallred5510 I'd be glad to. The first to remember is that God invented time, but He is not bound by it. The Genesis Code theorizes that God is speaking from His perspective, when in fact it's the opposite. He's inspiring the writing to be done of Man's perspective.
Day three contains all plant life coming into adult form in a solar day, and day four brings in the Sun, the Moon, and all the stars (and likely planets). God put the laws of nature in place as he created them, so that would have killed off all plant life starved of the Sun, if there was deep time between the creative acts.
In reference to Man living so long, the original creation was so vastly different than our current world that Man was able to live far healthier lives for nearly a thousand years. All of those dates are also in the genealogies as well. Not just Adam. Methuselah outlived Adam for instance. If we have to dilate time for them, then look at the dates for when they had kids. Some of them would have only been children when they were said to have had their own kids.

"Nephilim" is the shorthand answer. It refers to the race of giants that were spawned when fallen angels mated with human women as recorded in Genesis 6. We learn from other ancient writings such as the Book of Enoch that monsters in the animal kingdom were also produced. Prior to the Great Flood, the entire earth was filled with corrupted DNA both in humans and animals. It seems pretty obvious to me that this is where dinosaurs came from. They were destroyed in the flood along with the giants and the rest of humanity except for Noah and family. The giants somehow managed a weaker comeback after the flood, although just how that occurred is hotly debated. Fascinating stuff!

Mr Ham's interpretation of the Bible is not necessarily what the Bible actually teaches...it is but one interpretation.
The Bible does not give an age for the Earth. Long ages and billions of years do not require or imply biological evolution and an old Earth and an old universe is a valid biblical interpretation. Mankind was created by God. Even in the old Earth view.
If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth

Well said. It makes no difference how long creation took, or if time is linear in any humanly comprehensible way. What matters out of Genesis foremost is Adam. Sin enters the world through the image of God and is righted by the last Adam the "very image of the unseen God."
Keep fighting for the Gospel, and put sectarians and legalists in their place.

The most amazing thing of all is how much Ken Ham gets wrong. He simply doesn’t understand the difference between literal and figurative interpretations.
Let there be no misunderstandings to this:
The six days of creation are NOT literally six twenty four hour days, but rather are figurative for six stages of creation with reach stage occurring in varying timeframes.
Science is correct to state that the universe is roughly 14.5B years old, with the Earth being roughly 4.5B.
The more I listen to him the more amazed I am at how much he simply doesn’t understand.

“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.”

Religion, however does limit our vision severely enough that we can’t see the full beauty of life, orchestrated by a sustaining, yet ‘fragile’ planet. In the Bible and religion, the world’s fate is as barren and lonely as death itself.

Recently I had a date with a girl. (my first ever btw)
The morning before, I woke up with the first thought "He will help you". I noticed there wasn't a pillow beneath my head. I believed/understood God was telling me "A pillow is made by men. Any manly attempt at trying to get rest doesn't work, I give you rest". As I was looking around, I saw the pillow lying at my feet. This reminded me of Ruth, so I began reading Ruth 3.
There I saw that I could see this as a symbol of loyalty.
After the date on the same day, the girl texted me to tell me she didn't think we matched. I was very confused, as we had built a big (obviously romantic leaning) connection before on a youth trip to Israel. I didn't allow myself to have rest unless I understood how this came about to be. Until God reminded me; that only in Him I should find rest. No manly pillow will do.

Thanks for sharing kirk! Sounds interesting. To me when it comes with God, God in a way how big government works, "big government can give you something you want but is strong enough to take everything you have" well in a way God is no different I mean god can give you rain, to grow your food, grow your grass, water for your yard ponds for flowers and fish, can give you a baby, can give you vitamins from the sun/ certain foods. But God also has the power to take away everything you need "what I mean"? Think about it god can dry up the water which becomes doughty, kills off plants, kills off animals by starvation and dehydration, too much sun can give you skin cancer/ blind, ish without protection/ dries your skin out. Can also give you a beautiful big tree for shade, but can also blow the tree over, either on your house, or across the yard. So I realized to me God creates the action of known "part of life" you live, you live, if not oh well, creates something new to take over, and that's us living humans and other creatures today, or else we would never existed same thing with Jesus..
