      Hi David. From HH perhaps cycle the route via Takiab Village, swing up to #4 hiway but then take the cycle path down to Khao Tao, then left to Pranburi Beach, then you've got a promenade all the way to Khao Kalok and then of course the promenade at Dolphin Bay/Sam Roi Yot Beach. That's a perfect cycling route with many places to stop, enjoy and refresh along the way.

    Just found this channel and watched several videos. Really like the format, super informative and nicely paced. I also appreciate the screen-caps of the websites you used, for example to buy your car or (in other videos) to find real-estate properties. But I noticed you crop the images so we can't see what website it is. Is there a legal reason for this? Just seems since your whole theme is about offering helpful information, it would be pretty helpful to know the websites too? There's a lot of "rip-off" websites aimed specifically at foreigners so an insider tip on the sites you trust would be really helpful. Thank you.

      Hi Rasheed, thx for watching and commenting. I usually link Agoda for hotels and add the link in the vid description. As for the car just found it on FB. Have to be careful buying on FB of course but it all checked out ok. STL

      Yes, I noted that in the vid. I now have a black cloth to cover that grill/dash reflection.
      PS hella safer in the car vs bike btw lol

    Hey, Were you living on Koh panghan, way back like 25-30 yrs ago? I am sure you introduced yourself to me and we became fast friends considering we shared a common interest. I am from San Francisco, Michelle. Remember me? Your voice is so familiar, its uncanny.

    Do you need a Thai or international drivers license for car rentals, or is just a US license good ? Thanks, and another great show (I'm going backwards), and glad your car is still running a yr later.
    Are you able to buy a vehicle now,as I thought you couldn't unless Thai, but that was in 08/09 ? 🤙😎

    STL asking..when you bought the car did you have to get a thai drivers license ...and how did you get license plates for the car...please respond.

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, have had a Thai DL for ages but fairly easy to get one, take your home DL to DLT office here (and/or take the test). License plate was on the car, simply transferred it over. Got a letter from immigration stating my address here then showed that plus car blue book plus signed seller transfer papers and had it all transferred to my name. Note HUGE caution: found car on Facebook but asked the Thai chap to meet me at a mechanic to check it out then come with me to DLT. He agreed to both, thus passed muster as did the car thankfully. I got lucky. Hope the above helps. STL

    curious why there's so few people on the beaches or swimming, is the water cold?

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Water is warm just fewer people along this relatively unknown stretch of coast (which is part of the attraction, for STL at least;)

    It’s really safe to travel in Thailand? What about pick pockets? The price on the room is it per couple or just one person.

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Price is per room. Pick pockets are rare in Thailand. Also before I forgot the key in my bike many times and no one took it. I feel safer in the darkest alley in Thailand than in my home of Vancouver or any city in the West.
