I lived in Hua Hin for 11 months in 2021/22 and have to say that the city was perfect for me to survive the pandemic.
It is quieter in Hua Hin than in Pattaya and the city is more than just a beach. There are hundreds of gated communities and senior residences in the hinterland on the other side of the mountain.
But from there it's a 10-15 minute drive down to the city.
There are two large shopping malls and also a supermarket for imported food.
There are also enough hospitals, including a Bangkok Hospital, but that's not cheap :)
On the beach you often feel undisturbed; it is not as overcrowded as in the south of Thailand. It's a good thing that the supposedly "best" beaches are in the south. Then the tourists can step on each other's toes and fight over the deck chairs :)
The nightlife is there and it feels like there are more bars than tourists, I keep wondering how they can all survive.
In terms of rent, Hua Hin is cheaper than Pattaya. Massages etc are more expensive, more on a Bangkok level. Many restaurants are a little more expensive but still cheap for many of us.
There are also two immigration contact points. As I said, up behind the mountain, that's where the big immigration is. But for the past two years I think there has been an immigration branch in the basement of the Blue Port Shopping Mall.
In contrast to Pattaya Immigration, which is more of a "war zone" and extremely overcrowded, there are hardly any waiting times in Hua Hin.
You can easily take the bus from Hua Hin to Pattaya, twice a day. Of course you can also take the train. Now also significantly faster because the route from Bangkok to Hua Hin has already been completed.
There used to be a fast ferry at the pier at Khao Takiab. There the boats went from Hua Hin to Pattaya but the provider did not survive the pandemic and stopped the service.
Hua Hin also has an airport but I don't know which routes you can fly from there other than Chiang Mai. I have already flown the route from Hua Hin.
In the south of Hua Hin, Pranburi should also be mentioned. Pranburi has something that Hua Hin doesn't have, a pormenade. So a very, very long road along the beach. You can also cycle there because there are cycle paths. As mentioned, the beach at Pranburi is very spacious and there are still a lot of building sites available. There are very nice and expensive hotels there and it is much quieter than in Hua Hin.
Ohh and before I forget it, there are many high class greens (golf clubs) in Hua Hin too.
There is also a small zoo und a waterpark in Hua Hin near Holiday Inn Hotel.
You can enter the rooftop-bar of Holiday Inn too. Its a great view.
Thank you for taking the time to mention all this. Top man mimo
Hua Hin has been Bangkokian backyard for 100 years, the former king residence, peaceful, safe, great street food, close to several hidden tourist places only known to locals.
You are doing a great job. I don't comment often on videos but your channel is an exception because you do it brilliantly.
Calm, without any shouting, simple and interesting. Especially liked the trips to Japan and Korea. But you have many other interesting trips to see.
I highly recommend you keep your hair shorter, you will look as stylish as a contestant of America's Next Top Model!
Very sorry if you no longer like my comments! I only write the truth and give the best advice! 😅
I recently found your channel and love the format of actual vlogging and not just having tons of drone shots with dumb royalty free music. The only thing that I find annoying is the fact that you buy sandals that are too small every time you go to a new place 😂
Back again with another good video, keep up the good work, good content always
Hey Zane! I love your videos I hav watched everyone of them lol. Do ppl ever look at you sometimes for talking to yourself lol!?
Great work. That beaches clear water was amazing! ❤
Amazing beach ⛱️⛱️ love your videos zane😊
The video looks absolutely amazing I enjoyed watching it .
Enjoy, I too only arrived in Hua Hin on Thursday for the first time
Best place to stay for few day by any chance.. just to get my bearings?
There is a place called baan kuhn por that at night serves cheap food and 40 baht changs. Many locals go there. You go down soi 88 across the tracks. A bolt I believe is about 70 to 80 baht.
Cicada is a very nice place to visit, nice handicraft, music, and of course a lot of good food.😊
You made me miss that place. I was very happy there. Thank you.
Nice feeling about hua hin for the first Time 😉🙏
Went there in February for a week .Took the bus from Bangkok.Think I'll try the train next time .Liked all the beach restaurants and night markets .The ladies at the biggest oldest night market do a mean massage.Go to bang bar shoot some pool with the ladies .Buy some drinks it will be fun .Massage ,Bangbar ,beach restaurant, catch the baht buses ,night markts 😅 good content .
4:56 Can you imagine if you entered a time warp and it's actually 2023 there?
Cool video lots of good ereas u showed along the beach!
Yes the penang chicken is the best. All i ever eat in the United States. Can't wait to make my first trip to Thailand in July.
Definitely a young backpacker's hole-in-the-wall if you are just partying
Average Thai folks dont go to this tourist area in Hua Hin. I highly recommend cicada market or other bars along the beach.
Love the video
Hua Hin so beautiful beach and nice city.🤗🙂👍❤️🎉🎊
My favorite city in Thailand by far. Calmest, long quiet beach, less traffic, fewer bars, may move there from Jomtien.
Thailand ❤
Was in hua hin this past winter. Enjoyed it so much we went back for another week at the end of our 7 week thailand stay. Had everything without the craziness of pattaya and phuket
Hua Hin and Cha Am have the craziness too 🙀😹

I just found a guest in a motel insert a tag and quickly pull it out to turn on the electrical system in the room. I would be very surprised if the light came on 😳😳
Great vid Zane. Which do you prefer so far Pattaya/Jomtiem or Hua Hin?
Hua Hin
U should try oraya Thai restaurant right lane beside Hilton hotel
Its called a wet floor bathroom i like enclosed shower so i don't slip on the floor that can be a holiday killer 😊 !
I have stayed at that very hotel no problems a couple of sisters manage and run it. I stayed one floor below you. You aren’t far from the night market.
At 8:28 minute , What you see is called a gourd or pagoda, used to burn silver paper, gold paper, or fireworks to pay homage to the Chinese ancestors. 🎆🎇🧨🎉🎊
Who else was ,,, The TP is on top of the friiiiidge :D
To be honest, warm water is nothing good. No chance to cool down from the heat.
Next stop Koh Samui! 😅🌴🇹🇭
I think this is a mistranslation. She was not “selling” her daughter to a foreigner. I said “schilling” which means to set them up together. Not literally selling.
13:07 -> It's 'Kap kun krab' ....women say 'Kap kun kah' ....
26:52 -> The dragons are guardians of the temple....
I wish i had remote work so i could go for a while. Tired and burnt out of california.
I stay half a year every year and Hua Hin last year the price was 40 how code 80 to 120 THB
It's cheap because you just booked a boom-boom room and are in the middle of the walking street (Soi Bintabaht) ...You won't sleep for the noise overnight.
He was drooling on some serious DNA wet spots
❤❤❤
what does those eyes mean?
I like this word"Aroi mak mak", don't forger to cicada market.Lloyd and mandy youtuber move to huahin( form canada). I will support you by not scrip advertising any time.nice to see new video.
✌️
Hua Hin has a nice beach, but to call it the best is likely a reach. There are dozens and dozens in this country and many of them are amazing and beautiful.
🥰🥰🥰
That is so cheap. $14 is a steal.
lol so guessing nothing interesting happened on the walking street after 7? The video just ended to the next morning 😂
Where’s all the tourists? It sort of reminds me of how bare the beaches were when you were visiting Dominican Republic, you were in 4/5 Star Hotel and now you’re staying at a $14/night hotel? This place doesn’t look appealing to me, IMHO. I’d rather stay at Hilton and be more comfortable in an excellent hotel. 7pm is a little early for people to go to the bars in Thailand, even in Bangkok they all go out later at night, that’s probably why there was no people watching for you.
Normaly there are not many tourists in Hua Hin. Its normal that you see many "empty" bars. There are also many more "bar areas" than Soi Bintabaht / Hilton.
You can go to Soi 80, Soi 88, Soi 94, Soi 112. There are some "bar hubs" too, they call them "Wonderland" and I dont know how many Wonderlands we have now, 2,3,4 ?
not the best beach(coz southwest have them all), but the best beach city for sure. it has everything from shopping malls to beautiful caves while remains peaceful (except during holidays)
The beaches are average, in Hua Hin. The further South, the nicer water
Welcome to Thailand
I’ll say Hua Hin has beautiful beaches but terrible people 😂 (my personal experience) I’ll go Pranburi beach, not far from Hua Hin, instead
The thing that doesn't impress me about Thailand, and makes me not want to go there is the constant bombardment on tourists from the local peddlers. Sorry, but this is not attractive. You don't find that in Japan.
Edit - Also, you gotta fix that low light jitter.
I've recently been to Taiwan (very good) and Japan (rather). I can't understand what people like about Japan. The only interesting thing for me was/is Hanami, the cherry blossom festival. Mount Fuji is also great if you want to get up in the morning, in the middle of the night, and go on a group hike to the summit to see the sunrise.
Since the economy has been weakening, traders in Japan have been “harassed” more often or people try to lure you into bars.
I think I'll only come back when things get better in Japan and in some districts you feel like you're a street prostitute in Bangkok.
Dozens of women are standing around everywhere because they are engaged in prostitution out of financial need.
Might want to edit at around 13mins...
Had to skip ahead to see... Ya, probably for the best lol
Why so??
Oh wow thanks I’ll try to get that taken out
what was it?
@@charlydallas2035 🌭
Looks to crowed for .e under those umbrella, need something more laid bsck with less ppl 😂
barley fit? they don’t fit !
why you scared of brothels 😂
Here we go again another race to the bottom cheap Thai budget vlog 🥴🥴🤣🤣
One of the worst !! HHis not known for best beaches 100%
That's right. The south of Thailand has the best beaches and is therefore overpopulated and totally overpriced.
@@mino5931 depends where you go ..I find it dirt cheap if you stay away from main tourist attractions
Offended by a cat calling bar girl? Leery of walking down a walking street in sleepy Hua Hin? lol Poor guy... he must have been traumatized....
You picked the wrong country for your journey... you missed north by one country... just head south to Malaysia .... or of you like it really buttoned up ... keep going south to Singapore... where annoying others by singing in public, will land you in jail for three months.. Seems more your speed.
Trashy town...motel room was gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one of your wore vids ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hua Hin is mostly the more well off foreigners with many high-end resorts. Many people come for the quality golf courses and it’s one of the more expenses places to play, but has four courses in the top 20 of Thailand. This I flunecer simply did the budget route
that is your opinion and I personally wish to thank you for your opinion because it means that you will never visit Hua HIn again
W
Great video! Thanks for posting. Is there an email address or something I can contact you on? Have a couple of travel based questions I'm hoping you can help me on. Thank you
