Someone commented on Digital Foundry’s video about how Ubisoft haven’t even set the ‘Home Indicator’ bar to hide while playing and it’s disappointing to see it still there. The lack of polish seems so evident.
What do you expect it’s Ubisoft. Nobody buys their garbage. Their games are meant to be bought at a discount and years later after release because they never deliver something polished.
Literal preferred quality performance aside I’m just impressed that on a physical mobile device as small as an iPhone can even run these gameplay systems throughout these games. The port to iOS and iPad seems to be not great which is odd because the PC port of Mirage is great. Performance seems way below what it should be on all apple devices
M4 has to boost resolution because iPad screens are much larger, It scales and ends up around the same -it does run decent at 30fps on high on my m4 1tb. Also remember these devices have zero active cooling and thirdly, Assassins creed games are terribly optimised. Resident Evil Village can be played on max settings at 1440p at 30 or ultra settings 1080 at 60fps. It really just is this game.
does the iphone 15 pro max perform better in these games? i imagine the bigger screen would help with overheating? im not sure if this is how it works lol
I love your videos, but what are you talking about? Don't remove the high graphics option! That's the settings I play with on my iPhone 15 Pro Max; the bigger phone makes thermals better and improves performance. Let *the players* decide which settings to use! New phones are just around the corner and they will take advantage of the higher settings too. If those settings didn't exist, then newer phones will be stuck to low graphics for no reason
i wonder if the m4 pro is hitting against a different bottleneck, possibly power consumption related or maybe thermal that is causing the stuttering as it can't be bandwidth related and the measuring tools show it's unlikely to be memory.
I'd have bought this by now if it worked better. Hopefully everything gets ironed out for Shadows. I am curious if this was a get it to work (with GPTK) kinda of project for exposure to this kind of development.
@@MrMacRight It's stupid if this game is 300P upscaling to 590P. I would really like to see if it performs better on the M4 16gb version or if using game mode might help with the stuttering, however it is still ridiculous how even the M4 struggles, while I’d like to blame the games optimization, apple really need to add more RAM to devices
8gb RAM is more than enough unless you are playing multiple AAA games at the same time. AC mirage uses around 5-6gb RAM as you have seen in the video. So why need more RAM ?
Ubisoft, please bring less demanding games on iPhones and iPads. It’s a win-win for everyone. As we all can see that demanding games are not ready for prime time on Apple mobile devices.
I don’t think that Ubisoft suppose to delete graphics settings. I don’t agree. It is a new game and it is working on the phone these couple fps I can survive. They suppose to try update the game or make it better working or at least try. I think performance is getting better and it is playable even on higher settings. If we still gonna compare it to console or pc when it is working 60 or even more fps that don’t have sense. I’m happy that Apple at least try and I can play again or first time game on my phone even having ps5 at home. It is different experience. But what Capcom and Ubisoft need to do at first is change the price. This is nonsense to charge so much for game on mobile without playing on different Apple devices in one price. The price suppose to be at least half and then they will sell more of them. But they need to try with more games and give as change to set our settings how we want with downsides.
Show don't tell counts for a TH-cam video too. You're saying it is better or worse but it takes a second video to actually see. It is a video I seen in the past so I know, but it would have been a better video it there would be some reference from the previous performance.
Summary: there is absolutely no iPhone, iPad (or basically a MacBook Air) that have enough power to overcome that horrible coding.
