Rebooting after pulling the USB out is something a lot of people would do. If it's so critical then they should display a message on the screen instead of just showing a picture of a USB stick. The loss of communication with the IO board was probably just a configuration issue, like a port assignment. That can be blamed on Microsoft's bloatware.

Yeah I try to follow instructions but sometimes they are just wrong, well hopefully this won’t happen to someone else.
Unis games are just terrible. Ive had issues like this constantly with safari ranger
I wouldn’t say terrible but they can be better.
