Yes you will enjoy any motor or product for that matter from Mr John Holmes ,,, great company have a lot their servos motors ,, is my go to really… I have have Reef’s servo a shot and gotten few those!! Very nice products!! But Holmes for the win sir!!!!
@@evintacy7272 I've been using Hmes Hobbies products in my crawlers for years! Always been a big fan! That's partly why I was so surprised when I saw these retro motors for sale, I knew they'd be great! 😎
They're cool motors, I have the 21 and the 19 turn. The 21 is in a Top Force with an 8:1 gear ratio, so I think it'll be doing really well, there, so far I'm only at the part in the build where I know it works, so I can't really say how good it is. A bit disappointing, I needed to remove the outer sleeve with the neon sticker to make it fit, bit at least I had a nice decal to put there. The 19 will go in a Kyosho Beetle this spring. Cool to see a video on these, I'm happy you're featuring them.
I hear nothing but praise for Holmes Hobbies and these motors are so cool. I still run brushed only cause that is just my era and they suit my old retro RC's. Nice video and I don't blame you for getting the full selection 👊🏼
Very cool. I've always picked up the Green machine 2's and P2K's but I've got a hornet that could use an odd turn motor like that. Really a no brainer to use one of those over a silver can for the ball bearing alone.
Just picked up all 4 options for my several Tamiya projects. Thanks for getting the word out on some cool brushed motors. I look forward to seeing some running vids and possibly some comparison vids.
I was not aware those were a thing. I was just on his site the other day ordering a new crawler motor for a project I'm working on, I didn't even notice them in the lineup! I guess I was single track focused on the crawler motor! I have gone over and ordered all 4 of them now and with shipping was only $68 (sorry) so for the same price I can buy an old worn out Speed Gems motor from eBay I got 4 new motors! That is too cool! Thank you for pointing out what was already right in front of my face previously!!!!
I'm with you there pal, I certainly didn't expect to find these from Holmes Hobbies, but sure am glad I did. Good call buying all four! And like you said, it was still cheaper than one used speed gem. Cheers! 🍻
Yeah you really can't go wrong with these motors. They seem a little slower than the advertised wind, but that might be just me. Overall I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. 🍻
I was always a fan of my Kyosho Lemans motors back in the day. They wouldn't let me run my 360st in races, though. I find it funny that the number was the run time in seconds with a 1200mah battery.
I've got a full restoration planned for that bad boy! Stay tuned! Oh, and check out my most recent video on TBG bodies, you'll see the body they sent me for it. 🍻
Personally, I have, and would again, use a 3S lipo with these motors. You'll wear them out faster by doing so, but they're so inexpensive that if I blow one up, it's not a big deal. 👊🏼
If you really want your retro motors to look cool, you could buy reproduction decals for them too. The company that makes those decals is in Canada. I can not remember the name of the company, but I bet you know who they are. They are associated the another company in Canada by the name of MCI. Thoughts?
Absolutely, that's a great option! MCI is the decal company and TBG is the body company. They're based out of Ontario, Canada (which is where I grew up!).
I love my Holmes hobbies motors they rock increase performance immediately!!love those stickers on the cans!
You've been running them, excellent! Glad to hear they're working well! 👌

Thanks for this! I am restoring an Optima Mid and considering updating the motor to one of the Holmes Hobbies retros. Now to pick which one!!!!
Ah good motor choice for a cool buggy like that! I'd try the 17T, see how she goes. I've got one in my Neo Fighter and it's awesome! 👍🏻
Nice video and great find on these retro motors. I am going to check them out 🙌🏻👍🏻
Excellent! I don't think you can go wrong with these. 🤙

Ah right on, you've picked up a couple of there, good man! 👍
I've got a few old brushed motors from the late 80's early 90's luckily I hung on to them. Nice looking buggy brother! Decals 🤣
Deeeecals! 🤣🤣🤣
Good job hanging on to those old brushed motors, they're very collectable! Any new kits you're working on?

Holmes hobbies has been powering my crawlers for years and now they'll be powering my Tamiyas. Can't go wrong with his stuff! 👌

Absolutely a no brainer! And at $15, you can't go wrong! 👊

Right on, they're the perfect compliment for a Tamiya project! Running vids to come! 👊

Great information and cool motors
Thank you sir! 😊
Just bought the 15T for a project. Haven't installed it yet, but the quality looks great for the price.

I'm excited to see how it runs! Thanks. Merry Christmas and have a great New Year!@@poorboysrc
Dude those are clean I’m gonna put one in my Honda City Turbo
That would look awesome in there!
Just got a 17t last week for a vintage hotshot project👍
Right on, 17T will get that Hotshot moving nicely! 👌
How does it perform with the 17t? Rocket?
@@PFinkoloTL87Really well. I think it's the perfect motor for a hot shot.
Those motors are awesome. Thanks for sharing and I can’t wait to see it in the blockhead running.
Praying for some good weather this weekend so I can get the Blockhead out for a run! 👌

Is that what that number meant? I had no idea, that's too cool!
@@poorboysrc yup. Strange but true. I guess the 360 was a 550 can so not allowed in racing.
@@PsychoticBovine very cool, learned something new today! 🍻
Cool information but honestly my eyes keep getting drawn to that Futaba truck on the other bench

@@poorboysrc I most certainly will
The running video should be rad, wheelies and burn outs!
Haha yes sir! I hope I can get the BHM to wheelie, that would be awesome!!! 😎
Did you ever get to test these ? Thoughts ?
Sure did! I ran the 19T in my Wild One Blockhead Motors video. It was awesome! I'll be buying more of them!
i picked up all 4. how do you find them? i am waiting for mine to arrive.
I'm really happy with them. For the price, and the funky retro look, I think they're perfect. I'll be buying more of them down the line. 🍻
that seem like a good price dang 😂 i can’t believe some are 300$ at that point get a 6s brushless
Right?!?! Seems crazy, but that's the market, I suppose. 👊
Can someone tell me the rating batteries used on these? 2s only or can you run a 3s lipo. No one speaks on this nor is it on his site?
