I love my mamba monster x. I have had it in my yeti xl for over 2 years and it performs flawlessly. I always run 6s, and my yeti xl has all the aluminum parts hot racing makes for it, except the rear axle housing. Locked rear axle, and it crawls pretty good, awesome low speed control.
I haven't had the pleasure of running the v2 servo but I love my hv500 and as far as the mamba x I absolutely love that speed control if has so many programming options and it is so powerful I love it and can't wait to get another
I have 32 running rigs and all I use is Holmes Hobbies products . I never have had any problems and when I thought I did I called Holmes Hobbies and they told me it was a Faulty BEC so I went to my local hobby shop and bought one. Plus I love when they recommend other companies products. They are one of the best companies out there. There just not in it for money they’re in it for the RC community

Holmes Hobbies is an awesome company with great customer service and an even better product line. This channel and this series, MOTOR CONTROL, turned me onto Holmes and now its all I use. BLE pro paired with a PULLER PRO brushless 2200kv and hv500 v2 in a 15 pound scaler, Dolly, and the BLE pro with the 540S PULLER PRO 3300kv in my wraith rock bouncer, Betty. When the Hitec servo dies Betty will be getting the SHV500 v2 for sure. Thanks man you are doing right by Holmes Hobbies.
Interesting about you deciding to try out the yellow style plugs. Would you be more apt to using them if they came in black or grey? I think the yellow is a bit garish, but it’s probably so one can locate the connection easier perhaps. I know another TH-cam RC scale driver who is all about Tamiya and he uses strictly the Tamiya style connectors on all his rigs.

Start simple. Gear down, volt up. Changing your spur and pinion is a good starting point. Bigger spur gear, smaller pinion = lower gear ratio. Swap your factory 35t 540 sized motor for a Holmes Hobbies 45t 550 can for even more torque and control. Keep in mind top speed will be sacrificed.
Thanks man. So I'm pretty new to the whole motor control tech, so where would be the best place to go to purchase products for the spur and pinions? And I'm not worried about losing speed. Again thanks so much for the advice. I am pretty new to all the high tech stuff, so buying something I have no clue about what it does for my rig is not what I want to happen. It also wastes money which I don't want. Any other types and advice would be greatly appreciated man
I dont like that the Mamba has a fan, because to me thats a place where water shouldnt get. i think the HH ESC has more tuneability, theres a few things the Mamba settings dont have. i run the BLE Pro and Mamba X both with a 2700kv Trailmaster in decently heavy rigs.
BLE Pro vs Mamba X.. for me I have both just depends on the rig. The Mamba X, I use for when I am running faster vehicles that won't see much in the way of water (a little misleading from Castle about waterproof though, must remove fan), keep the fan installed to keep things cool. Faster rigs? .. those running 3s + with 3800kv + motors. Comes with the Aux wire, some find that useful.. Holmes Hobbies BLE Pro.. when I need the power of a Mamba X but it will see water and if I need a smaller footprint for esc. Neither have ever failed me.
I'm still running stock electronics that came in my 10.2 jk that I got a year ago cant afford to upgrade yet but when I do I'll be trying out that servo and one of his brushes setups
