Turkish Specialty Tulumba Dessert (Fluted Deep Fried Fritters in Thick Syrup)

  • My dear followers, I have prepared a very popular dessert of Turkish cuisine, Tulumba, for you. Super crispy! You gotta try this!🌟
    Tulumba dessert/Fluted Deep Fried Fritters in Thick Syrup
    Two and a half glasses of flour 200 ml
    Two glasses of water with 200 ml
    Four medium eggs
    A teaspoon of butter
    A teaspoon of granulated sugar
    A pinch of salt
    Two tablespoons of semolina
    A tablespoon of starch
    A teaspoon of vanilla
    For the Syrup/Sherbet:
    Three cups of granulated sugar
    2 and a half glasses of water
    A slice of lemon
    Preparation:
    First we prepare the syrup. We take water, sugar, lemon into the pot and turn the stove on. After it starts to boil, we boil it for 10 minutes. It needs to get thick, if not, let's boil it a little more and thicken it. And we let it cool.
    We take water, sugar, oil, vanilla in the pot and turn on the fire. When it starts to boil, we pour the flour at once and cook it on low heat for 3-5 minutes. After taking it off the stove, we break the eggs one by one when it comes to a temperature that our finger can bear, stirring occasionally. Add semolina and starch and mix until it gets a smooth consistency. We attach a medium sized serrated tip to the whipping bag, fill the bag with the dough and squeeze it into cold oil as I show in the video. We cut it with scissors, fry it on medium heat until it gets crispy. Put it in cold syrup and wait for 1 minute, then take it to the serving plate. Very tasty!
