Thanks for the video, I wonder if it's possible to pull the data from the first survey to the second survey without redirecting the recipients right after the first survey. For example, based on the result of the first survey, we want to do a follow-up survey after a month, and pre-populate some information from the first survey. Is it possible to do that? Thank you very much!

Best tutorial on the topic I have seen so far. Thanks very much, Koichi! Your explanation is simple and thorough.
However, I have a question. Suppose, I don't need personal information from respondents and the survey is anonymous. How would you link the anonymous first survey to the anonymous second survey providing just a code or something?

Thanks for the video. I'm hoping you'd be able to clarify something for me. I have set this up, I believe, how you and Qualtrics describe. However, when I test this I get an error because the contact is not created in the Directory before the second survey loads so there is no authenticator ID available. Once the contact is created (60 seconds later) this works but I want to use a re-direct URL like you have done. When you are testing this in the final section of the video are you entering new contact details which are then added to a mailing list? If so how have you avoided this time delay?

It doesn't look like my Qualtrics server/system creates a long delay like that. I can't think of a work around for your issue.

@@eLearningExpert thanks for responding. I ended up attaching the response ID to the second surveys URL and using a web service call to retrieve embed data from the first survey.

    Thanks for the video.
I have question if you can help me out? I will do survey on a group of people in 4 months period. They will fill the questionnaire 3 times(T1, T2,T3) in 4 months. I do not want to collect any identification information(Name, email etc). However I want to generate and assign some random IDs to the respondents when they will fill the first questionnaire/survey at T1. After sometime when they will do the second survey at T2 I want them to be identified with random IDs that were assigned to them initially. Same thing for T3. The purpose is to identify one respondent's response in three period of time with the random IDs while not collecting any identifying information at any time. Is it possible? Thanks

Yes, it is possible, I can think of a few different approaches... Which works best for you depends on how you want to distribute the three questionnaires. How are your participants receiving the links to questionnaires 1, 2 and 3?

@@cisservices Thank you for your reply🙂. I will distribute the survey to students. My plan is to send the link to students in their emails. This survey is only for a particular group of students, not all students in the university. How to distribute the surveys to make what I want.

FYI - The reply posted above is actually mine. Here's my suggestion.
      (1) Set up your questionnaire 1 so that it will display the student's random ID at the beginning or end.
      (2) You have to make sure each student will write down their ID and keep it for the questionnaires 2 and 3.
      (3) Set up questionnaires 2 and 3 so that each student has to enter their randomly assigned ID at the beginning of the questionnaire.

Hi! I have a similar goal of distributing surveys and matching data of the participants anonymously and without identifying information. However, there will be about 2 years between the two surveys and I am worried about students keeping track of their IDs over such a long time period. I'm wondering if you have any other ideas of how to accomplish this goal without them having to remember their ID? Thank you!@@eLearningExpert
