You are a star thank you ever so much for helping me. My first supervisor asked me to include a unique ID for each participant I almost pulled my hair out because I am aiming to recruit between 500 and 1000 participants. Thank you again and God bless
Hi Dr Griffin, would this ID technique work for a longitudinal study with three surveys and enable participants to remain anonymous? Assuming participants would need to write down there ID and then enter it again at T2 and T3 so as to match their data across the three surveys?
Yes, it could work, but I doubt that participants will remember/write down a randomly generated number. If you’re using Prolific or MTurk, use the ID given to them there. If something else, consider a different option like first letter of first name, first letter of last name + last 4 of cell phone or something like that!
Hi, I followed your process exactly, but for some reason none of the IDs are saving for participants who complete the survey. I am only receiving IDs for those who do not complete the survey. Do you know why this is happening?

Good luck on your project!
This is a lifesaver and deserves more "likes"! Thanks Dr. Griffin!
This is a well done video! So easy to understand and follow.
Thank you! I appreciate it.

@@BrandonPhD Thanks Brandon, so then I would simply include these questions across all surveys and match with V look up or some similar approach?
Yes. You need something to connect the different surveys (an ID).

Double check in survey flow that the random ID is at the top.
