60fps is huge for a game like Sekiro. Playing that game at 30fps makes the game twice as hard considering how much your reaction time matters in combat. Days Gone at launch was a struggle when it came to aiming (which to be fair was helped out by future patches) so 60fps will be a huge impact when it comes to playability. Playing the unpatched version on the Pro was really difficult, taking out the late-game hordes was nearly impossible if you weren't playing on the easier modes. I highly recommend the game to anyone who hasn't played it yet, it's free on PS5 with PS+ so you have nothing to lose. Once you get some bike upgrades and decent weapons it's a really tense, fun game even if the story is absurdly long, probably my only major gripe. @@ddp5406 first of all, no need to be agressive, i wasnt trying to offend you, second sony did put more emphasis on new games, but microsoft put more emphasis on making their players satisfied. It natively plays the games, enhances their visuals, adds auto HDR to every game, and it has less loading times than the PS5.

After all the FUD about the PS5 BC not being as good as the Series X prior to these BC reviews, it is absolutely amazing what Sony has done here. So many titles are showing just massive framerate increases even without those big patches. All those old PS4 gems that we had over the years is going to be great to go back to this generation during any software droughts ( .... There may not be any ). Those titles that aren't locked at 30fps anyway Great video as always! Amazing stuff As for the request on a game. How about Rocket League? I'd love to see how that performs on the PS5 as I doubt it was locked in any way.
People forget about PS Now as well it seems, its gonna be insane on PS5 and has like 800+ titles. Gamepass is a decent deal too but PS Now will allow such better BC I think
Honestly, Sony doesn't need to do anything. Clock to clock Zen 2 is at least two times faster than Jaguar, so just that makes those games to run with full speed. Same with GPU, though I'm not sure how much faster RDNA2 is compared to old GCN.

So Horizon Zero Dawn has a performance mode which i believe unlocked the framerate at 1080p, i remember thinking that the performance mode was unnecessary because the game pretty much ran at a lock 30fps in resolution mode but it would be interesting if this makes that game 60fps.
Having gone back and watching every review and framerate analysis I could after the launch day 1 patch added performance mode I can confirm that the performance mode does not support an unlocked framerate but simply balances the minor performance dips from the resolution mode. It still leaves this game with a curious question though, with many of the biggest games seeing some level of ps5 enhancement, why leave a performance mode that is sure go unused with ps4 pro resolution mode issues ironed out by the added cpu and gpu power of the PS5. I can only hope against Sony opting for a Spiderman remaster style tie in to Horizon Forbidden West, but I imagine that with the prospect of raytracing out there its not completely beyond the scope of possibility. Personally I think that a full remaster would be a horrible idea as it would seem more like a cash grab than adding much needed improvements to a game that clearly needed it. Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most graphically impressive games on ps4 and I doubt raytracing in any capacity would improve that for most people. Moreover the much sought after 60fps mode would be tied to a remaster that is not needed or wanted. I will be watching this game specifically for what happens next but I think Sony would do more harm than good by not patching the game rather than attempting to sell a remaster.
@@amirrezaameri5390 Because the game is coded to run at 30fps. So the PS5 can't brute force the fps because its locked at 30 fps. They need to patch it to either unlock the fps or have an extensive ps5 optimisation upgrade.

So interested in seeing HZD ... hopefully they release a patch

Last guardian only runs at 60fps from disc without an update.
My dream for The Last Guardian is REAL, fluffy Trico at 60 frames! ❤️😭
Mine is a remapped controller! 🤣
PS5 bc has been a pleasant surprise so far
For sure...they undersold it and over delivered...they knew focus should be on next gen games and features, this is all a bonus
Much better than I expected
@@ddp5406 the only reason why they "undersold" it was because every time they mentioned backwards compatibility the first thing everyone asked were the ps1,2 and 3 bc, not ps4, rightfully btw.
@@yagokain4189 i don't care why u think they may have downplayed it...either way their competition put a huge emphasis on playing older games better with the most powerful console...sony instead put a huge emphasis on new games and having a robust launch lineup...it just so turned out that their system also plays older games better too (the most important ones, ps4 games) and its also just as powerful.
@@ddp5406 first of all, no need to be agressive, i wasnt trying to offend you, second sony did put more emphasis on new games, but microsoft put more emphasis on making their players satisfied. Their game pass practically shits all over anything that sony has of this kind, their backwards compatibility isnt restricted to last gen, and its actually better than the ps5 BC. It natively plays the games, enhances their visuals, adds auto HDR to every game, and it has less loading times than the PS5.
Simply THE best PS5 review to date. Well done fella!
So sick of hearing "review channels" whining on about having a screw in the stand and how big the box is or timing start-up times to compare with Xbox .
This is refreshing and exactly what I wanted to know
Boy you are finally getting views you deserve. Keep it up!
I’d love to see Nier Automata! Great video as always.
Good game, I jus started recently playing it. I'm at the forest now
Am I the only one who really wants to see Medievil running on the PS5? I remember that one had performance issues that should be much better on this new gen.
THANK YOU for all this info. Answered so many questions I couldn't find anywhere else! Subbed!
i can't wait to go back and check out some of these games. sony have done a good job with BC.
This requires an earlier version of The Last Guardian, a later update capped the frame rate at 30, just FYI.
They will hopefully release a patch in time.
This was ace, can't wait for more. Any idea how the Resident Evil remakes and SoTTR look on PS5? Will look forward to your next video
RE2 is gonna be sick on PS5!
Great analysis, made sense what people are seeing regarding what's going on with PS5's backwards compat., thanks for this
Please try some of these titles and let us know if they're enhanced:
Batman: Return to Arkham, Batman: Arkham Knight
Uncharted 4
Detroit Become Human
God of War (2018)
Metal Gear Solid 5, Death Stranding
Horizon Zero Dawn
Resident Evil 2-3 (remake)
Tomb Raider trilogy
Soon, imbrago. i think from 12 november lots of test incoming
Lichdom Bartlemage
The Witcher 3
Batman return to arkham isn't enhanced. Still runs at a locked 45 fps
The first two tomb raider reboots aren't enhanced. But the last one is
the upgrade for Sekiro makes me so happy, cannot wait to replay that game.
God of war , Bloodborne , Kingdom Hearts 3 , and please for the love of god NIER AUTOMATA !!!
Bloodborne is basically the same as on Pro, 30 fps with frame pacing issues... sadly.
@@SnizelOfficial how do you know it has framepacing isues on Ps5 ?? Did you play it yourself ?
Omg KH3 in 4K 60fps pleaseeeeee

Great video and good explanation for backward compatibility on PS5 !
The last guardian is my favorite game of all time so I can't wait to replay it at 60 fps. It's 4 year anniversary is December 6th
man you are EVERYWHERE
Thank you somebody understood and said it plus put the work in. Great work bruv.
Those titles that aren't locked at 30fps anyway
Great video as always! Amazing stuff
As for the request on a game.
@@zerosolis6664 so you ok with paying something that you own
@@Boricua4ever23 You have to pay for Gamepass too
Honestly, Sony doesn't need to do anything. Clock to clock Zen 2 is at least two times faster than Jaguar, so just that makes those games to run with full speed. Same with GPU, though I'm not sure how much faster RDNA2 is compared to old GCN.
@@MorrisseyMuseam I talking to a child are you that naive, why are you comparing gamepass. let me explain if I owned a game that was released on Xbox 360 I can play them with out gamepass I can play them on my Xbox one x with enhanced like Half life 2 can I say the same thing with ps4 or PS5 nope. Instead I have to pay for demon soul a game that I already owned. I can play gear 3 online on my Xbox one x rights now. I wish I could play twisted metal black online but I can't.
Great job. Thank you for this! :)
Can’t believe last guardian runs 60fps. Definitely giving that a re visit
Only clean install from disk without an update.
@@kraenk12 yes this is very disappointing. I hope they patch it soon. It should be the easiest patch ever as it was already running unlocked at release
Wonderful coverage. Subbed and looking forward to more. Thank you!
I really hope TLOU2, Death Stranding and Horizon get a patch so those can be play at 60fps
I wish the some for GTAV and RDR2 but knowing Rockstar, that´s probably never gonna happen.
GTA is coming to PS5 TBF. It was literally the first thing they announced
Excellent video, nice amount of technical detail, a very nice surprise.
I would love to see Kingdom Hearts 3 get a test drive.
Finding the quality in this video the night before release, you’ve gone above and beyond. Absolutely earned this sub and again, amazingly detailed content!
Welcome aboard!
Great video, Last Guardian was a surprise, definitely going to play that in a couple of weeks.
Would love to see what Monster Hunter World is running like. Also curious about Destiny 2 before the patch coming in December
Other videos have covered MHW. It runs at 60fps pretty much flawlessly with super fast load times. Time for some more farming!
@@RicochetForce saw it on XSX, same for PS5? Big if true
@@cameronmale4573 Yes, it's been tested already. Super fast load times and rock solid 60 fps. 60 fps+ in MHW is transformative.

the last guardian at 60fps is great, but have in mind that if you have the digital version it will run at 30 fps (hope they patch that)
dude this channel its very good ! you deserve 5 times the number of subs
I've got so many backlog games I can't wait to finish on the ps5

Always a high quality production, thanks again.
I loved this video a lot but I need to put important titles like the last of us, God Of War, Horizon etc to see its performance
Thank you...people are praising Sony but Sony isn't even patching all these great games that deserve patches.
I’ve got so many PS4 exclusives titles that I own but haven’t played yet like Days Gone and Last Guardian and I’m glad I actually waited to play it on the PS5 and not my launch PS4.
Same ... Held off on many for the last year as wanted the best experience.
The Evil Within 1
Gran Turismo Sport
GTA5
Batman (everything)
GT sport runs at a near solid 60fps on the base ps4 and a locked 60 fps on performance and almost 60fps on high-resolution mode on ps4 pro. Im sure it will be locked 60fps on ps5
Thank you for providing accurate information and explaining how bugs can affect fps.
It's weird that nobody is talking about Horizon Zero Dawn and especially no news so far about a patch to unlock a 60fps mode for that game on PS5
Do you saw how many problems unlocked fps caused to pc version? Unfortunately it's not just simple unlock in the case of Horizon.
Great to see jedi fallen order at 60fps. I’d love to see an enhancement patch for that game, though I’m not getting my hopes up.
Hey we got one!
Please test Dying Light! It's so fast paced I would love to play it at 60fps
When I saw the shot of the 2600 next to the PS5, I hit like, wrote this comment, and subscribed. I respect the elders.
can you try the evil within? i remember that game running at 20fps on a ps4 pro.
1 is stable 30Fps and 2 is stable 60Fps :)
Apparently it's a stable 30fps on PS5 if you play it without downloading any of the game's patches. Jury is still out on what the game's performance is like on PS5 with said patches downloaded though.
Hi Great video, I'm in the UK , i just hope my PS5 turns up , Pre Ordered back in September , Cant' wait , thanks
Is the Last Guardian the unpatched disc version? There's some conflicting information out there. Other outlets say it's 30fps.
Yeah, I thought it was capped at 30??? Can someone please verify??
Finally someone that has seen the video Road to PS5 and understood it. It explains a lot about the differences between PS5 and XBX backwards compat.
Have you tested Horizon Zero Dawn? Would like to see how that runs on the PS5.
That game has 30 fps limit, soo until we don't get a patch for, it it's gonna be the same. But I would love to play it at 60
Just play the pc version runs super good.

God of war, Killzone Shadowfall, Final Fantasy 7 Remake :) theae are some of those I would like to see. Borderlands 3, Assetto Corsa Competizione :) there is probably more but this should do :)
Love ur videos !
So Horizon Zero Dawn has a performance mode which i believe unlocked the framerate at 1080p, i remember thinking that the performance mode was unnecessary because the game pretty much ran at a lock 30fps in resolution mode but it would be interesting if this makes that game 60fps.
I'm pretty sure horizon's performance mode does not unlock the fps.
Anyone know why this game isn’t one of the games running at 60 on ps5?
@@CroneRaven1810 the bigger question is why isn't Sony patching more games? Only Ghost and Days Gone. That's disappointing considering how many people are hoping for Horizon, God of war, Bloodborne, Uncharted, and Last of Us 2. I am worried Sony is never going to patch these games which would suck.
THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO 🙏🙏🙏
Please test all Sony studios games. Both Last of us, gravity Rush 1 & 2, etc.
YES GR1&2 PLEASE!
Amazing work. Glad to see you going through these titles
I'd like to see how the Nioh games run in their unlocked dynamic modes.
For real my ps4 drops to sub 10 fps so regularly coz i play mostly coop, so 3x people with all the flashing stuff and amrita decals, it drops to single finger fps all the time
Often I'm thinking I've been slothed I'm moving in slow motion and I look and I don't have sloth on, it's my ps4 is lagging so unbelievably hard
Bruh 60fps on nioh would be just noice
I never get rid of my previous consoles. I always keep them so I can have them forever and play the games I bought for that console whenever I feel the need too. Backwards compatibility never really intrigued me for that very reason, but I can definitely say I will be taking advantage of this feature because with all of these performance improvements, it is just hard not too. I am really amazed and cannot wait to get my hands on the PS V. Thank you for the video and your hard work.
Oh, and if you can test the Nioh titles, as well as Code Vein and Darksiders III, I will be eternally grateful. Thank you very much once again for your hard work.
My request is for New Colossus in native 4K Mode. I would like to know if GoW is 60fps in the 4K mode or only in the 1080p mode.
I think it requires a patch to get a higher resolution with 60
God of War is NOT the 4k mode which is super disappointing
This is really the only channel focusing in depth on backwards compat and frame rates
Can you check Asseto Corsa Competizione ?
Can you test it on both next gen consoles as it runs with a unlocked framerate on both Ps and xbox and does not run well on either.
Thank you for doing this video 👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can you explain how Last Guardian hits 60fps when its capped to 30 on PS4 Pro? I saw another video where they tested it on PS5 and it was still 30fps. Did it get a patch? Obviously hugely exciting if it’s 60 now but want to make sure!
Does it have alternate modes?
The unpatched (disc) version is unlocked fps. This means PS+ version will be 30fps on ps5 unfortunately. Hoping for sony patches to these games.
Thanks for this video, straight to the games and great comparisons!, PS4 exclusives already looking stunning but putting them into a 60 fps is like another totally new experience and another level of gaming, finally Last Guardian is at 60 fps HOLY HELL!!, haven't played GoT, The Last Guardian, Days Gone and lots of other games glad I waited on these :D, I wished Killzone Shadowfall was in the video but is ok probably next one, can't freaking wait for my PS5!!!!!.
Can you please test Infamous: second son and Uncharted: lost legacy?

Great review once again and informative like I have come accustomed to from you. Also, it is nice to hear someone(you) who knows their apples when it comes to knowing what is actually pushing the games. This instance, many are thanks to the CPU/GPU front. Unless as stated, optimised for next gen.

Battlefield 4 was 60 fps at 900p on base ps4 and it held well... And the ps4 pro basically just locked it there.
@@ohioboy1878 Yeah, I played both those versions for years but the Xbox, One X and now Series X versions are even worse looking resolution wise and need a patch if DICE would ever be so kind to unlock the resolution at least
