    I really liked the format of this video. So many times gardening channels will plant something and forget it so you never know how they turned out. This is fascinating way to grow potatoes, it's kind of like a treasure hunt when you dump the tiers into the kiddie pool. I would think the fingerlings would be great for the greenstalk. Hmmmm I may need to rethink one of my greenstalks this year.

    I did an experiment this winter...I planted up 3 containers with chitted potatoes to see if they'd grow indoors. I kept them in a sunny window, watered, fertilized, and wouldn't ya know it worked! The harvest was small and kind of pale in color, but it was enough for a small batch of potato salad 🤣🥔👍

    I got my Greenstalk this season after so many great videos from you (thanks!). So far so good, although next time I might need to tweak the soil mixture ratios. It's drying a little too fast for hot/dry Texas weather. But that's okay, just need to water a bit more often. I love the small footprint for the yard.

    can you plant them in the middle of the planter as well even though those new leaves from the original potato wont reach any sunlight?

    • @RainbowGardens
      @RainbowGardens  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a good question. I don't plant them there because, as you mentioned, potatoes love the sun. But also, I need some room for the potatoes in each pocket to expand, and the will grow into the center. I like garden experiments, so if you try it, let us know how it goes! Happy Gardening!

How do you store your potatoes. i usually store the ones from the store in a cool dry dark space like a basement. but if you have a lot of them could you store them in trash bags or would that keep to much moisture in. Maybe a big plastic bin?
