    I love your videos. Small details mean so much. I am a beginning gardener and learn something new from you every video that can be applied to other methods. I would enjoy some more Square Foot and Container videos from you in the future. Thank you so much!

    Excellent video! I love these individual “how to” tutorials. The principles can be applied to non-Greenstalks, but I’m telling you...your videos make me want one of my own! ☺️

    Thank you for this video. Thank you answering for my "SOS" message right away the other day when I planted my bare root strawberries. I figured out what my problem was. I didn't moisten the soil before I planted. Once I planted the roots and watered them in the soil level dropped and my roots were exposed. By this time they were all planted and the tiers were in place. I had to dissembled and add more soil. Lesson learned, I will never do that again! My next greenstalks were textbook perfect. I have one more to fill and plant. I tell you what, my strawberries took off and most are getting their second set of true leaves. My herbs are happy. I just love these greenstalks! I will plant an entire greenstalk with spinach for the winter like you did.

    Hi! Could you elaborate on the blended compost? I’m very new to this but have been watching your videos religiously since you explain things so well! Thank you!

    Omgoodness, been doing it wrong. Next time I'll direct seed.
    I have 2 little pots of spinach seedlings that may (or may not) make it.
    Thank you for the info on a specific vegetable.

      I have planted spinach seedlings in my green stalk and had no problems last year. Lettuces did awesome too. Just make sure you don’t break up the root area of seedling.

      No worries! When I first started growing spinach, I grew from transplants that I picked up at the nursery. I enjoyed several harvests. However, over the years, I have found I have a much longer harvest when I plant from seed. Happy Gardening!

    I want to grow my spinach indoors in my sunroom using the greenstalk method. I’m just curious how I would position lights around such a structure. Tips?

    It all seems wonderful, but a friend told me vermiculite has a carcinogen in it, so I'm a bit sceptical. 💐🐣

    • @RainbowGardens
      @RainbowGardens  ปีที่แล้ว

      It does not. I encourage you to do your own research. That myth stems from an old mine containing asbestos decades ago. Vermiculite is used world wide and typically, only by professional gardeners. It comes in 4 grades: fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse. I use coarse and extra coarse in my soil blends (been using for 15 years,) and fine grade for seed starting (sometimes).

    I think the code in 9 minutes in the video maybe have a typo?

    The link to the seeds is not working. Can you reply with the link?

      I'm so sorry. It seems they no longer carry it. However, I have also grown Bloomsdale Spinach and it did okay. I bought it as a transplant but it may have done better if I had grown it from seed. Bloomsdale is easier to find.

      I respectfully disagree. I've been growing in these for over 6 years, initially without compensation. I have grown vegetables in every way: containers, square foot garden, native soil, and hydroponically. All of my growing videos using these methods are on my channel. This vertical container is the easiest by far.
      I appreciate your comment.
