You have the perfect trio. After 12 years with a CSR Elite, I now own only the V2.5 and have been blown away by it. It is really light and slightly smaller, which is beneficial on the CSL DD. I will be adding the Porsche or BMW at some point.
Where you gone, man? Really appreciate your content.
I am very close. I have and like the McLaren, Podium Formula V2, and R300 Podium. Now that I have the McLaren wheel, the Formula wheel seems too small. Great show. Thank you.
I really want to get the Fanatec Formula V2 wheel but read a lot about the knob cracking. Saving budget to get one soon. Nice review.
Really nice vid, and three nice rims!👌
I have the Formula black, really nice for formula cars.
I was going to buy the Mclaren just when it got taken down.. So I bought a DimSim F320H for GT cars, might pick a Mclaren rim at some point though to make it a even 10. 😁
One of my all time favorites are the BMW M3 GT2 Rim.😍
There you go R-VR Closet - balancing out those hardware numbers again, hahaha
On to the On the Grid Title Question :- "Why These Are My Three Favorite Wheels From Fanatec?"............ ohhh, ohhh, I know................. er, cos Fanatec made them??? (was I right ; )
@@SingleRacerSVR Hehehe yeah you know I made it up to ten shifters SingleRacer, can't let it banner look uneven!!.. ';D
I love the McLaren one but I recently replaced the shifters by a magnetic carbon shifters mod. Quieter, faster and more confortable.
Just discovered your great channel. I just bought the Porsche podium wheel, but the leds are very bright, especially in dimmed conditions. Do you know if brightness could be set, can’t find any info about it?
Hi mate. Nice video. Very informative. If I’m planning on playing 70% F1 and 30% ACC on the PS5, which wheel would you recommend? Taking price, feel, performance into account.
Thanks mate. I would go with the Formula wheel as many cars in ACC have that style wheel.
ACC on PS5?
Nice video.... but any Round wheel not needed?
Hey J! What’s going on with your channel? I hope you or everything is ok!
Cheers from Ontario
Love your video! I'm trying to buy the GT Porsche steering wheel. Concern that i have, should i go for flat bottom or round wheel? I don't have much budget, but would like to have 1 wheel for all. Also at the side, i will be purchasing the Formula V2 steering wheel
Thank you. It really is personal taste but I love the flat bottom. That wheel works well in most situations. I was using one wheel for a long time but eventually for immersion I started buying various styles. Don’t discount the McLaren wheel. It ends up on my base more often than you’d think. Size, grips, shape make it a great all around wheel. Enjoy your gear.
@@OnTheGrid Got it, thanks for your feedback! I'm leaning towards flat bottom as it is what I want :D
I've owned litteraly all fanatec wheels and mine are almost the same! The McLaren wheel is my nr1. eventhough the build quality is soso. Furthermore the V2.5 is amazing (so with the APM). The Porsche is great... but the endurance module feels weak... I would replace that one for the BMW M2. Great heavy wheel!
Nice video but have a question. When using Formula V2 wheel and then using Porsche wheel. Does the length changes when holding ? I mean because of the HUB is the Porsche wheel closer to you ?
I have a formula wheel and when holding it’s perfect but when I put Porsche wheel I need to adjust my rig again ?
Or is it the same distance with both…
I hope I was clear enough with my question….
Ps: don’t have the Porsche wheel but I wanna buy but that rig adjustment thought is keeping me off
Hey. Thank you. The Porsche wheel is about 1.5inches closer to you due to the Hub.
The price on that mclaren gt3 is very enticing, can't get clutch paddles on any other wheels for anything near that price range.
yeah but you need that qr if you have high ffb
I’ve got the Formula V2x
Hey there! Using the advance paddle module, did you notice it tears your gloves? I have small holes in my right index finger and also on the side of the middle finger, it rubs. This is just 1 week of using the advanced paddle module. So just wondering if you are seeing the same thing?
Yes I did have the same result. My Kart series gloves were more resistant because the stitching is external and the material is thicker.
I have the blue Podium Formula wheel, plus a Formula V2.5+ wheel, and I just got the McLaren. Now the Formula wheels feel too small. I have the new RS wheel on order, but your video has me thinking I should cancel it and get the Porsche wheel w/ endurance module. The new RS wheel is the same as the old Porsche Clubsport w/ magnetic paddles. Is that one of the wheels you've had and didn't like?
Hey. No it was the Flat wheel with UHX but I would say in the time I’ve had the Porsche Podium wheel it is on my DD 90% of the time. I love it and even more so when using Fanalab.
Can you use the CSL wheel base with the 911 wheel?im like 99% sure I can.
@On the Grid I enjoy your video But I have a bit of a problem I'm new into the sim racing game I already brought the next level wheel stand 2.0. However I wanted to buy the Fanatec GT Pro Bundle but its been sold out for almost 2 months however I can buy the wheel base and pedals separate but I'm having trouble picking out a wheel. I really love the Formula V2 wheel but I feel that its not a all around racing wheel I did thought about the McLaren V2. But I have read some comments about the paddle shifters hurting your fingers overtime and they hard to press. I'm really looking for a wheel that I can play mostly all games ( F1,Dirt 5,Gran Turismo, and Assetto Corsa) any advice I truly be thankful
Hey, thank you. I understand the dilemma with backorders and delays still an issue. Honestly out of all the wheels I have, the Formula is the one I default to for most of my racing. I like my wheels to mimic in game and between open wheel and GT cars, it is the wheel that comes close to matching. I’ve also been running VR quite a bit and it helps to have a wheel the closely resembles in game. The MCL is also great but I where gloves all the time to protect the Alcantara on the other wheels and to make it more comfortable using the McLaren. You get used to the stiffer shifting.
If you really want to try another wheel, the R300 could be an option since it’s smaller and you can configure the button modules how you like. In the end look at what cars you run most of the time and go for the wheel that will make the experience more immersive and check off your list of needs. Good luck with your decision.
I have the McLaren V2. I wear gloves. The paddles feel great. Love this wheel.
I have had all three wheels, and the only one I still own is the McLaren
Still using the same 3 and MCL is a great all around wheel.
Billions and Billions and Billions of dollars here!
1 milllion dollars 😂
Not a cheap hobby for sure. The good thing there is a huge range of equipment in sim racing. Its amazing how fast people can be with even the least expensing equipment.
The Mclaren button rattles annoy the ef out of me lol.
Yes, although I have seen tweaks/mods online to silence them.
Me staring at my t150. Yeah buddy you are still cool.
If you are having fun with it, then that’s all that matters.
A common three with Fanatec wheels; overtightened case screws. They do make nice looking wheels altho' I can't bring myself to part with that much cash for a gaming peripheral. I'm more than happy with my Thrustmaster F488 Challenge Edition, it looks like the real thing, it's light so it accelerates quickly and changes direction faster than a heavier wheel. Another plus for me, it cost about the same as your Porsche wheel and came with the TS-PC Racer, King of the belt drives 😉
Tell me you are not done with the channel?
Wallpaper link pls
Have you used the new v2.5 and does the v2.5 work well with gt3 cars
I have and there’s not a major difference between them (V2 and V2.5) I use the Advanced Paddle Module and as for the GT3 cars it’s great when the cars have formula style wheels like Ferrari, Bentley, etc otherwise I use the Porsche wheel. Cheers.
@@OnTheGrid u think having the v2.5 is my only wheel is too limiting? i mainly use get and formula cars only.
@@OnTheGrid no GT3 car has a formula style wheel lol.
270mm diameter is not very compfi.
Hello please try to stop talking with your hands because your camera is still focusing and it's quite disturbing. thank you
My wheel costs more then this 3 together
