Just want to say how useful these short videos are... as you move away from the basics of Portuguese and try to express new ideas with new vocab it is so easy to choose the wrong word - even if you spend hours pouring over a dictionary reading through all the uses of a given word. These videos really do help to point out the differences in an easy straight forward way that help to retain the meanings. Now I know why Portuguese people look confused when I use conduzir when I say I am not drinking tonight !!
I have a question about a sentence in the dialogue: 'Quem é que precisa disso quando já se tem anos de experiência em carrinhos de choque?' Like most English speakers, I have trouble deciding when to use 'este/esse/aquele' and when to use 'isto/isso/aquilo'. If I were constructing this sentence, I would have reached for 'essa' since we're talking about a feminine noun ('carta de condução'). Would that be wrong? I tend to associate the first category of words with concrete things and the second category with abstract concepts. Is this not correct? Thanks as always for all your helpful videos.
Quem é que precisa disso = de + isso, precisa de + isso = who needs THAT ; Quem é que precisa DESSA, De + essa = dessa carta de condução = Who needs that CARTA de condução. It would be okay if you want do specify the CARTA, that one particular, but you would have to say DESSA Carta, not just, would perhaps not be understandable, just becaus it is not usual. Usual Quem precisa disso! = Who needs that or Quem precisa da ou de uma carta de condução = Who needs "the" Carta ou "a" Carta.....
Muito obrigado

I have a question for dirigir:
Why it is not “o moestro dirige” ? Instead of “dirigiu” ?
