Thanks bro. Please don't stop ill always like and comment so the algorithm promotes you and you can make some huge money one day. This is the neat Portuguese channel I have found.
I have been in Brasil for 23 months now. I studied with a Professora in Curitiba, at Tuiuti,, for 15 months, 3 times a week, 1.5 hours. She was Awesome, I really learned alot. But still was not fluent. Moved to Apucarana, in Nov 2023 , and it was sink or swim. I am told I speak well, but I have extreme difficulty understanding most Brasilians. Your lessons so far are AWESOME SIR !! Loving it.
Best português TH-cam channel out! I can believe it’s not bigger. I’ve been studying português on Preply for about 9 m😊maths and your videos have helped greatly
Andrew, I was elated when I 'found you' on TH-cam. I have been helped greatly by following your lessons. Your teaching technique is very effective for an English speaking person. I feel certain that by following your presentations I will have the confidence to converse with Portuguese speaking nationals. Thank you.
Andrew congratulations once again. I wait for your lessons. I highly appreciate your commitment and love towards Portuguese. I must say you have a novel way of putting forward the lesson, especially the in between songs or small talks. Congratulations once again. Hopefully you increase the frequency. Thank you. 🎉
desperately needing this for closed e (ê etc) 😭pls do asap. thank you for the lesson, I have subbed and will also be commenting and thumbs up every video!!!
Andrew, I can't express how happy I am about your videos! I've been trying to somehow learn Brazilian Portuguese for about a year now and I had actually given up. Your way of teaching is fantastic! Although English is not my native language, I can follow your lessons very well. So far I've had a hard time communicating with my Brazilian friends in English, but now that I finally have access to the basics (with your help) I can build on it much better. Muito obrigada!!!
I am having so much fun learning Portuguese! I’m preparing for a trip to Brazil to visit my former exchange students. I have sent them recordings of my practices and have gotten much praise. I’m 62 years old and this is my first attempt at learning a foreign language. I am surprising myself at what I can do.
When talking to my Brazilian friend he told me to pronounce words like “Netflix” and “smart phone” with the English pronunciation because this is the correct way to say the words. The words don’t change, that’s just the pronunciation in a Brazilian accent.
Try doing a search for "assistir Netflix" of TH-cam captions here filmot.com/. and you see for yourself how many people actually say it with the English pronounciation.
@@DecodingWordswithAndrew right but is this just because they’re Brazilian speaking with Brazilian accents? Like the words are still in English they’re not translations. So I get needing to know the information so we can better understand when listening but it sounds like it’s incorrect to say it like this. Will be sure to check the link you put in the next comment, thanks for getting back to me!
Let me give you an analogy that might help you understand...think of all the words we use in English that come from other languages. Let's take loan words from French, for example. How many English-speakers actually pronounce "croissant", "ballet", "hors d'oeuvres" like a French person would when speaking to another English speaker? We would just say it with an English pronunciation.
Love your lessons. Looking at the comments it seems like your market is people with basic knowledge of Portuguese who now know enough to know what they do not know. It is not grammar or vocabulary that other sites feature, but the pronunciation and oral comprehension needed for conversational fluency. No sites do this. Even sites with AI Conversations Only recognize when you do things properly, but do not increase oral fluency by giving a framework. I have bought dozens of apps and subscriptions and lessons with teachers but this is the first to give me hope. 9:24
A truly gifted teacher!! I’m learning so much. You should leave a link somewhere including ways to contribute and support your work, as there’s no option to tip on here.
could you do a video lesson about how to greet and how to answer greetings in Brazilian Portuguese? other greetings of how are you and how to respond that in Brazilian Portuguese
Honestly, all you really need to know is "Tudo bem/bom?". And people often will just respond with "Tudo bem/bom". But here are two videos that should help you: th-cam.com/video/O7QHshzPy2E/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/RbDD59ZMfRM/w-d-xo.html
@@AshAsh-p8f honestly people will often just respond with “Tudo bem/bom?” to any greeting….my philosophy is to just keep it simple, especially in the beginning. You don’t need to know 10 different greetings when you’re just starting out….”Tudo bem” is just fine
@@DecodingWordswithAndrew like i noticed that if a sentence starts with a noun e.g a name of a place it sometimes starts like “O Joao vai…” or “O Brasil no…”
With peoples' names, it depends on the region...it's common in certain regions like Rio & SP to use the definite article ("o Marco", "a Juliana", etc), while other regions don't use it (simply "Marco" or "Juliana"). As far as names of countries--most countries will use the definite article (o Brasil, os Estados Unidos, etc). With cities, most cities don't use the definite article, but there are some that do like Rio (o Rio). Hope that answers your question.
