You know, Joey.. .for someone who's without formal training and is basically self-taugh, you're a natural. A real genius at woodworking. Glad you're back
Hi Joey, great to see that you and your business are still going strong. I, like many others, 222k subs to be exact, watch your videos because we are in awe, amazed and inspired by your craftsmanship. Both the chairs and your skill are outstanding. As for Covid, well the world has changed and as is still changing. Life has taught me a few lessons along the way but one thing I have learnt is that when you are in a position where you can't do anything, do nothing. Don't panic or stress as you can't change it but what the hell is the 'it' we are worried about anyway. Things could be better but things can always be worse and often our worries and fears never come to fruition. Just react when you have to, when you need to. Meanwhile just step back view 'it' from afar and breath, yep breath. Keep yourself and your family safe and keep the videos coming fot the two hundred and twenty thousand people who are interested in you and wishing you well.
The most interesting woodworking video I've seen so far. Man oh man, so many amazing tricks and problem solutions, that I don't know which one to point out. I can't imagine you making any money on those chairs unless you got an order for ten thousand lol. Cheers man, thanks for an amazing video.
A beautiful outcome to a challenging journey! Thank you so much for teaching us. I watched slowly and deliberately, digesting it all. And now, I'm off to my little shop to never, ever start a chair project!
Greetings from KOREA. It's nice to see you back in your shop. There is Great craftsmanship in there as always. I hope you and your family well and good luck.
Joey, no matter what it is, you're not being paid enough. Absolutely a Sherlock Holmes set of chairs. So many problems and great solutions. Kudos for a fantastic job.
H I joey and great to see you back. Again another fantastic build and awesome result. One thing that I find really interesting is your problem solving skills, I have a saying that, there is nothing that can’t be fixed and you just prove that. Thank you for your posts I really look forward to seeing your work, keep them coming please.
SO very glad you still have your shop through all of this. By the way, the chairs are amazing! My dad used to use that same Weldwood glue when I was a kid - joints he made 45 years ago are still holding solid - those chairs are NEVER coming apart!
Great video Joey 🙂 nice to see what you have been up to since you have been allowed back in your workshop. Your work is nothing but amazing and highlights to me that we as wood workers are only limited by our imagination! The challenge always is then how do we go about making it. Jigs, clamping arrangements and a lot of trial an error is how it's done and you have excelled once again. Watching you work always gives me ideas how I can do things. Thank you for sharing your work and your skills. Take care and I look forward seeing what you create next 😊
My hats off too you! You do Beautiful work!!! People always ask me if I make chairs and I explain that it's not worth it. It's a tremendous amount of work and to do just a few would be prohibitively expensive. They are better off going to a chair place.
Beautifull work Joey ,i bet you are glad you have it finished. Great save on the back with the leather 👍,but also nerve wrecking ( for me at least). Greetings from Belgium.
My goodness Joey! Soooooooo much work in these chairs. I can’t believe for one minute that you’ve managed to make any money out of these guys (I hope you have) I hope the client appreciates everything that’s gone into them. Top work.
Glad to see you back in the shop !! Wishing things pick up and go well into the future for you and your family. Just love watching you build good quality and great craftsmanship.
Big smiles all round and very glad to see you are back. I really hope you, and you business, get through this covid mularky stuff, that you keep on producing excellent products, such as these chairs, as well super videos to pass on your expertise to the rest of us lesser mortals. Thank you.
They turned out just fantastic mate, the upholstery in the dark/black leather highlights the timber beautifully, I am sure your client will be well happy 👌👌👍👍
Love those chairs! Nice work! I like how much you use your bandsaw. Here in Germany most carpenters don't use it. They seem to be better for collecting dust sitting in the corner than cutting some wood. Regards, Etna.
I HAVE MISSED YOU!!! WELCOME BACK!! Beautiful work as always! I have to say I got pretty nervous for you when I saw you take a drill to the almost finished chair to secure the top of the back. Of course you handled it deftly.
Looking at the process with the panther router. The bit takes quite an aggressive bite initially and I noticed you had to glue a tear back on. Wondering if it would help to wrap the edge at the cut with blue masking tape before you start routing.
Those chairs are stunning. How comfortable will they be to sit on for a couple of hours? Sad, to hear the original was cut up / used for the production chairs, but you'll still have the forms, so it may not be too difficult to make more. Thanks for the vid. Cheers, David.
Cheers David, they are pretty comfortable for 5min a know. Longer than that I'm not sure. I have been asking everyone who comes into the shop to sit on one and give me honest thoughts. All good so far.
Great work as always, Joey. Question: Why not make a second set of A and B molds for the chair back? To turn that 12-day process into a 6-day one. Or did it not really matter as the rest of the build was going to take longer anyway?
Is a formaldehyde-based glue safe to use? Or is the outgassing of the formaldehyde at 'safe' regulatory levels? Or am I being paranoid for no apparent reason except for the possibility that my heightened level of anxiety is associated with a certain viral pandemic and living in Sweden, where the virus is rampant and a certain percentage of the population don't seem to want to follow certain protocols to prevent the spread, as it messes with their summer holiday plans!

You have made beautiful chairs. You are an artist. And I enjoyed !!👌👌
My hats off too you! You do Beautiful work!!!
People always ask me if I make chairs and I explain that it's not worth it.
It's a tremendous amount of work and to do just a few would be prohibitively expensive.
They are better off going to a chair place.
Loved watching the whole process of designing and building a chair, they turned out great.
Great to see you back. Without a doubt I learn more from your work than anyone else’s. Stay safe.
Cheers
Good to see you are not the only one to wipe off the excess glue on your work clothes, I cop it when the laundry comes around

Beautiful work! It doesn't get much better than Kauri
They turned out just fantastic mate, the upholstery in the dark/black leather highlights the timber beautifully, I am sure your client will be well happy 👌👌👍👍
Thanks man, yes I really like the black on Kauri
Love those chairs! Nice work!

I'm surprised since the best bandsaws are made in Europe, are they using jig saws?
making a good chair must be the pinnacle of a carpenter's craftsmanship
Maybe not the pinicle but I feel like it is a mile stone of accomplishment. Cheers
Just a really cool project, thanks for sharing!
I HAVE MISSED YOU!!! WELCOME BACK!!
Beautiful work as always! I have to say I got pretty nervous for you when I saw you take a drill to the almost finished chair to secure the top of the back. Of course you handled it deftly.
Thanks for watching!
This must have been your most complicated job you’ll have made till now. Absolute quality
These are awesome a serious amount of detail and thinking which must be mentally draining at times well done joey
WOW ...Amazing and an incredible amount of work !
Great work, both the video and the woodwork.
Thank you
Good to see you back, hope lockdown was not too bad for you and your family, we were lucky here in NZ.
Awesome to see you back at work after lockdown
Complicated, lots of angles. Beautiful chair!
Yes somewhat complex! Looking back it was a fun job. During the build I was not so sure
Absolutely great work , thx for sharing 👍🏻🇨🇦
Outstanding execution, one of your more technical videos.
joey you amaze me with your work and knowledge also i am glade to see you back!
Beautiful chairs.
I like the design of your chairs, I just felt that the straight black upholstery was a little lacking, but I guess this was the customers decision.
Gorgeous chairs! Loved watching you build them. Kia kaha, e hoa
Cheers
Great job!🇩🇪

Fair play. Lovely work and glad your country is been run by a champion and lockdown didn't ruin your business
Nice work as always I wish you ans your family all the best and stay in good health
Joey, where can I purchase a KingPost tee-shirt and a longsleeve? Much, much respect for you. On many levels. Cheers, mate!

Thank you
Great to see you back, and that you survived lockdown. Definitely worth the wait.
Cheers
Well, i had people die on me as i worked ages on their commission. So you were lucky (and the customer also).
Hi mate, those are some classic chairs right there - really cool! Do those plugs over the seat back screws get any finish on them?
Cheers , yes I did the plugs and went over each chair as a final pass at that point.
Good to see yah back up and at it. Keep up the great vids
Worth the wait! Good to have you back!
What a journey!
Beautiful Chairs Joey. Very complicated but worth the effort. Your right such a long time ago. Is it for the ambassadors table ?
Cheers, no these are for a private client in Sydney
Man those came out good.
Cheers
Serious looking chairs joey top job👍
Hi, You can tell your a woodworker, your chisles are razer sharp, mine would just run along without cutting the wood
Great work as always, Joey. Question: Why not make a second set of A and B molds for the chair back? To turn that 12-day process into a 6-day one. Or did it not really matter as the rest of the build was going to take longer anyway?
Yea thought about it but the job dragged on anyway so didn't really need to speed that part up
really glad to see you doing well
Joey, great to see you back on tools!
Glad to see you back where you belong. Stay safe Joey
