You know there is nothing new under the sun. Men wore close cut, no break slacks with skinny ties in the 40s, rolled over to big, baggy 5-button coats and all that is gaudy and came back to skinny wear with 2-button jackets/less frequent 1-buttons. Music will do the same general trend. 90s will likely resurface as different mixes but so much of music I'd just thst - remixed prior great hits. I graduated hs in 1998 so love 90s music and 80s too! But if we could just leave whatever was going on with fashion we'll alone and not resurrect that nightmare, that would be most appreciated. Most especially the early 90s. Ick!
This song is still overlooked 25 years later. It is not available on the Apple Music store (only this music video is) and Wikipedia does not have a page for this artist or song.
this song was so much before it's time... props to anyone who loved it back then, loves it now, and found themselves in some sort of way along the road :) :) :) :) :)
One of my very favorites from the late 90s! What a fun, feel-good song. Fun memories of packed dance floors gyrating in drug-induced rhythm to this classic. Great video too. She’s incredible.
I still have my CD single AND the cassette single from 1998... used to rock in my vw cabriolet, and my then BFF's cabriolet (yeah I had the white one, he had the red one :) :)...can't believe this is 23 years old... that is CRAZY af
I ditched school to go buy the cd maxi single for this song. There was no Napster yet. Before Amoeba in Hollywood closed down, I found the pristine single on vinyl for .50¢ cents. Just a great song overall.
HAHAHA HAHAHA HAHAHA finally found it! This song is still not on Spotify:(. I was putting together a playlist of music from college 1996-2003 and I remember this song my girlfriend used to sing it all the time LoL. Another strike again Spotify.
I remember working at Circus Disco in the late 90's and hearing this song, vigorously played by DJ Ernie Pear. I remember going out and buying the cd single at Tower Records. Highly addicting song.
Wish I would've had the guts to sneak out of my house to go to Arena. But I did ditch one day of High School to go to the mall to get this single at The Wherehouse in Downey.
I have been looking for this freakin' song for almost a decade! I couldn't remember the name, only the chorus, and most of my fellow 90s fruitcakes had no idea what the hell I was referring to.
One of those songs that came out and you are like what the heck...and over the years the song grows on you and you gotta crack that mother up!! Love this grooove!!
I thought this song was a lot older like the "Studio 54" years soundtrack. I was surprised when I found out it was from 1998. It's a great current retro mix.
ya...i used to work at AXIS in weho, and Jennifer did a set , tossing cds out to audience, I got one lol...I already loved the song, just icing on the cake. I was clapping like crazy lol
@@MELERIX it wasn't really. It was a hit mostly on the dance club scene. It got some play on radio and MTV but it definitely wasn't a big, massive mainstream hit
i have always loved this jam -- and suddenly now listening to it I am getting visions of Lisa Stansfield -- one of my FAVES -- who has a similar vocal quality and could kill this song~ :-)
Hi! Hey, I hate to sound shallow, but this woman is really gorgeous! She is probably the definition of what we call the (so called) perfect "Ten"! She is very pretty! Good Times people!
90's pure club kid! This shit is from a sample and has been from now and til forever! Pay attention cuz this is a solid root of American club culture. :D
She is currently writing for other artists, from what I was told. The original group SUGAR had a diffrent lead singer than Jennifer Star. youTube SUGAR "The Feeling"
Terase sang the Feeling originally. Everything else was done by Jen. Did you know her? Just had 3 hour conversation with Jen the other day. We were BFF since high school. Still are.
There is absolutely nothing more beautiful than the FEMININE in this Universe and this song captures the essence of the Ultimate beauty of ALL Creation.....XXXXXXOOOOOO
You know it - we were all "rolling" back then - everyone was doing ecstasy. That's why some of the movements are blurred - like your high! Good times....makes today seem like living in black and white - and everyone today is SOOOO angry.....
As jen’s bff I can’t say anything about any ecstasy but I can say that couch was from her actual apartment back then and had to sleep on it from time to time. 🤪
@@oopsIdid she is so cute, and what a voice! She was a visionary...a white girl with a soulful voice dancing in her underwear to those beats...Gaga took a major page from her playbook, just sayin'. What's she (Jen) up to these days?

We need more jams like this in 2020. Still got cd single from 1998. It was an instant classic!
By dad cleaned her carpet and came back with the single and gave it to me. Still catchy

Michigan here… had no idea it was a local thing haha ❤
I used to work at a makeup store called "Skinmarket" in 1999, and this song on AT LEAST 4-5 times a day. I freaking LOVE this song!
Same with me and Old Navy in NYC! They RAN this song!
man oh man 10 year old me should have known i was gay back in 1998...15 years later I still love this song
I didn't know I was gay but definitely loved this song. I was 15 years old.
Sexuality is irrelevant; this is a sic jam. Hella props for using the old school bass from “Boogie Oogie Oogie” by Taste of Honey.

@@ignazs.5816 I loved this song for a long time. I'm not gay per se, but I can see its appeal to the gays
I just found this song and I’m in love haha
I miss Jennifer's vocals so much! Loved her back in 98 as much as I do now. Lucky to have her album till this day.

LOL DJ Ernie Pearl is my roommate & BFF. Someone in our neighborhood was playing this outside just right now. Made me nostalgic.

Ugh I stan so hard. Brings a single tear to my eye.
I thought this song was a lot older like the "Studio 54" years soundtrack. I was surprised when I found out it was from 1998. It's a great current retro mix.
probably because it samples the disco song "boogie oogie oogie" from taste of honey
LOVE This Jam! I have a good friend who wrote & did vocals on the PURE SUGAR album. :)

from Stepmom (1998)
Is it really?
@jonnycola86 yes, I saw the whole movie
Wonder how many eight balls or ecstasy was on set... I'm thinking Katy Perry got some inspiration from this.
OMG you're so right. Lady Gaga too could've been inspired as well. LOL!

Para mi creerlo, por años yo daba por que Lisa Stansfield era quien cantaba este temita muy bueno, muy disco!!! ☝🏻✨🎶❤️
Sounds like there's a Boogie Oogie Oogie sample in there...and it's wonderful.
This song Rocked in 1998, I was on my way to NYC, Miami for vacation!!
My new favourite song
What's in those chocolates? I wanna box!
