  • Hello and welcome
    Today we're gonna take a look at the American A-10's Soviet counterpart: the Soviet Su-25 strike aircraft. More specifically, we're gonna talk about its armor, and why it's labelled the "flying tank".
    Why is it a flying tank? Is it because of its armor? We're gonna talk in-depth about that in today's video.
    So enjoy :)

    Not bad man, keep up the good work to reach that 1k sub and 4k watch hours. I know it's hard and frustrating sometimes but keep going. I remember my early days when i started working on my channel, it was hard and frustrating. not this one tho, this is personal account used just for my personal phone on Android. Original content like this normally are accepted on the YPP program if you apply. Just watch our for video's with watermarks owned by others like cnn for example to avoid getting tag as re used content. But Russian m.o.d videos is fine because it's for press uses, other media use them on reporting as well.. Also avoid violent or killing stuff video, because youtube won't monetize those content once you get accepted. But equipment features are fine. News reporting are fine as well.

      Hey man thanks a lot for the compliment and the tips. Will definitely make sure not to use too violent or brutal stuff. Also thanks for letting know about the watermarks. I really appreciate it, thanks!

    Ngl, this plane gained by respect after seeing footage of these things tank several manpads in Ukraine and managing to RTB, i thought the flying tank was just propaganda and exaggeration but it shockingly lived up to the name. I didnt know they were also nuclear capable after i saw the news last week that Belarus was preparing them for nuclear drills.
    I never progressed much in the SU-6 line , i only did the Yak and Mig russian plane lines and they took forever, im honestly considering grinding the for the SU-25SM3 because the MIG-27s feel kinda outdated now

      Well it depends on what you want to do. I use the Su-25 if I wanna play more defensive and destroy some ground targets and one or two enemy players. I have the MiG-23ML and imo it‘s the best Air RB plane I have. It made me a TON of SL. If you know how to play the way it‘s best for you, you can kill it. And it‘s not really outdated either imo that‘s why you have BR ranges. Besides that, If you wanna grind the Aviation tech tree fast then buy a premium 🌚

    Its called the flying tank because most of them are primarily used to store russian pilots liquor

    My question is why is it called 'Frogfoot'. It does not look like frog to me and neither is it green.

    • @bobiwt
      @bobiwt  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It clearly looks like a frog. And it's green. Don't you see it?
      Just kidding ;)
      Frogfoot is the NATO reporting name. The Soviet name is Grach which apparently means Rook which is a type of bird. Since WWII, NATO has code-named Soviet/Russian fighters with random words beginning with the letter “F”.

    Low and Slow.
    Ten hardpoints, not bad for a Soviet designed Plane. Sounds like with all the other improvements the Soviets got this one right.

    Why russian using su 25 extensively, inspite of many being brought down

    • @bobiwt
      @bobiwt  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, the Su-25 can take one or two more hits than other military aircraft, and it does its job as a strike aircraft very well. Also, Russia currently has air superiority in Ukraine since Ukraine's air defenses aren't doing well, so why wouldn't the Russians use them?

    Probably because it burns like a T72...

    Ukrainian a2a has been dropping them though at least in the beginning they dont seem to be as sturdy as an A10

    • @sjishah
      @sjishah หลายเดือนก่อน

      A10 will not survive a day in this kind of war, where NATO is pumping equipment, Sam and much more. If the Taliban have advantage like Ukrainian's the A 10 will not fly at all or NATO planes will be sitting in the base or it will be an easy flying target. Even with RPG's and small AA they manage to shut down more than 600 Aircraft's in those years.

      Ukraine has also been using Su-25s, since they had them and they get the job done, although they have obviously lost some of them as well since no aircraft is invincible. meanwhile comparing it to the A10 is hard, when it's a near-peer conflict and we don't know the amount of sorties flown.
