Ashame that Holden died in Australia. I have the 2015 normally aspirated 6.2L version. Still puts out 340Kw/570Nm. Is a great car to drive & still turn heads. It’s only done 38,000km to date. It’s a toy 👍

I live in Aus and the HSV is definitely one of the top cars of its era (Now gone forever) but I have to say, as sexy as the HSV is and this being my favourite year, that Mustang still looks damn sexy and as a Mustang guy I would still pay the extra dollars to get it instead of the HSV... if I could afford it.

Great content, Australian here and owner of a Supercharged Mustang, your numbers are almost spot on what i get out of mine. Be interesting to see a manual vs manual or auto vs auto comparison. If anyones interested my car in stock trim ran almost identical 0 to 100 times as it does boosted.

I think it's so difficult for anyone to get onto the top 15 on the times I think it's time to change it and maybe do a top 30 or top 50, this will give people with the lesser powered cars more of a chance to achieve a place which will make the whole experience more exciting 😊 As always mate best channel on the tube by a mile 👌

Always knew that the Aussie would win. Besides the overmarket upgrades, you don't get stock sounds that make the ground vibrate like that. All holden sedans are the same.
Put semi slicks on the mustang as well and thr R8 would be 3 car lengths behind again, even with an extra 200nm torque. Auto was always going to beat the manual in a drag race.

My family's business was specialised shock absorber and suspension components, which we hand built on site in Australia. We rebuilt and reinforced factory front subframes, diff supports, control arms, bolt in or hidden weld in in bracing, custom anything really. A Gold Coast dyno and turbo conversion company had me set up their cars in about 2006 ? Falcon Barra with 980rwhp, E85. A Commodore LS406 mod twin turbo (under floor, beside the box, "hidden") with 1320rwhp on E85. I drove them to do my "feel it" assessment, as we wanted no "surprises" for the cashed up but young owner... Fun to say the least as we explored various setups to be forgiving. Im not a fan of 1200lb springs on the streets of Australia ffs... lol. I built the car to be seriousness, but compassionate. You wouldn't mind driving it down a bumpy road to go get milk. The work involved to make these things last is huge. I've seen rear diff cradles rip apart and rotate... Be smart. Do it once. Do it right.
Being an Aussie, I'm gonna have to say I was all in for the Holden GTS R8. Too bad Holden folded and shutdown all car manufacturing in October 2017. The value of these cars is sky rocketing right now. Australia's answer to the renowned Toyota 2JZ was the fully Australian designed and made Ford Turbo Barra engine fitted to the locally designed Ford Falcon. Unfortunately, Ford Australia closed down also in October 2016. If the OG gang want to see an epic battle of Japan v Australia, then you really want to see a Supra or Lexus v Falcon XR6 Turbo challenge. Surely, someone in the UK has a turbo Barra. Heck, Adam LZ pulled the V8 out of his GT350 Mustang and put in a built turbo Barra in its place. Thanks so much for the upload. 🇦🇺💪

I own a manual LSA clubby with a harrop 570 kit with few extra’s lid spacer fuel pump and water reservoir. This hsv ain’t running 100% seems slow to hit redline. That said…what a car considering it started life as a 6 cyl family car.

Should see some of the commys we have in Australia. I know someone running a 10.4 1/4 in a ve ss with a supercharged iron block dart with a harrop 2650i making just over 1000hp.
Yeah I run 10.8 with 690 in xr8 supercharge
He recently ran a 9.2 and let off at the end. He was on a break in tune at the time of the 10.4 and was on 7 psi on the 2650i.

Having owned both cars (2017 Commodore SS 6.2 LS3 and presently 2023 Mustang 5.0 Auto California Special), the times would have been closer had both been auto.

Since I have moved here to Australia see these holdens every day. Looking at a Ute version for myself I love them.
I own a manual LSA clubby with a harrop 570 kit with few extra’s lid spacer fuel pump and water reservoir. This hsv ain’t running 100% seems slow to hit redline. That said…what a car considering it started life as a 6 cyl family car.
