You can blame Holden for that though. Or whomever decided to start importing the shitbox Daewoo models for most of their line up. They spent more than a decade developing and building cars that the general public didn't want to buy anymore. It's their own fault, sadly.
That’s the Australian government letting big corporations become greedy man. Lack of policy, higher taxes higher inflation and costs meaning higher wages making companies less profitable overall. We drove Australia out of business for overseas cheap labour market. We always sell out! Just look at oil and gas sales compared to other countries. We short change Aus resources big time 😭😭😭😭
What a beautiful car. We are nuts in Australia not continuing to build these beautiful Commodores and Falcons. Imagine the V8 models we would have now in 2024 from both Holden and Ford.😢😢😢
I am very pleased to say that I have one of these gems....but the difference is I have enjoyed driving mine constantly and am now at 150,000k's on it. I also threw a harrop 2650 supercharger on it, a custom exhaust system and put a set of lowering springs on to give it a better stance and enhance the already brilliant handling. It now has 650rwhp and is quite capable of matching up against any of the European cars. It is an amazing car that makes me smile every time I'm in it. Kept all the original bits if ever I want to put it back to stock, but that's not likely to happen just like selling it will probably never happen. It turns 7 on October 4th and it still gets people videoing it,taking photos of it and following me all the time. I got the white one and yes it is absolutely the 6 speed manual...wouldn't have it any other way.
Absolute gem mate & still modern in 2024,just imagine what Holden & Ford would be building today if they were still here 🤯 & yes Johnny it's a bloody disgrace to the whole country that they're now both gone forever, anyway I loved this review thanks brother 🙏
Totally agree Ross. The VF is a great car. I've got a 2013 Calais V 6ltr. Such nice cars and yes a crying shame they dont manufacture holdens anymore. They went out on top. Global politics and market manipulation destroyed the aussie car industry. The lions roar is in the history books now. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Great to see one still in stock condition. Except for the magnetic ride, there wouldn't be much difference in driving experience between a Redline and a Motorsport as they both have the same engine, transmission etc. There a plenty of Motorsports out there with low kilometres as a lot of owners just don't drive them as they are the last special Commodore built by Holden. Thanks for the video Ross and thanks to the owner for letting you to rack up a few kays on a low millage car.
Hey Ross love your work mate🤙 if you can find someone with a vf director you will be in something very special, they didn't make many and are a very limited run to 👌 keep up the good content mate 🤙
You could get a nice used 5 litre Lexus ISF with limited slip diff for almost half the price and the 0-100 time in that is on par with the supercharged LS3.
Awesome 😎 Awesome 😎 10/10 review of such an awesome 😎 review of such an awesome 😎 Aussie car Ross Reviews. Did you get to the Holden museum in Echuca before it closed down?
Thank you for the review Ross. Thank you for sharing a Holden. Yes, it is a shame GM could not keep Holden in production. They tried to integrate it into the rest of GM in the end. They could not make a business case for it. I know GMC Acadia was sold at Holden in the end. The last Commodore was sold through many GM brands globally,. but it was not the car the Australians wanted. Exports would have helped. Personally GM should have some how use Pontiac or Oldsmobile to keep Holden alive, but they are gone too.
It was a Ford in the movie but we really are talking the last of the V8's and these Holdens are up there with the Falcon. Sad that they just dont make these anymore. Glad I have mine.
@@RossReviewsau Thanks Ross I love watching your Videos keep up the great content Watching your channel also Just makes me want to go out and Buy another Holden 😂😂 Can still get a decent one for under 30k here in NZ got to look hard though
When i bought mine the prices shot up an extra 30k after 3 months. I couldve sold it and made a profit. But then i didnt know what else i would drive. Family car, ls3, manual.. for me theres nothing better. I have been using it daily. I bought a run around car and then got rid of it because life was boring with the ss parked up. You live once, cant take it to the grave, i know i will never sell it so fk it i will keep using it daily
Same as me. I have a VF2 Redline in manual that’s my daily. I’m up to 80,000km on it. People don’t realise we have limited time left driving cars like this. I’ll get my kicks whilst I can.
I've got one that's now got 150,000ks and I don't regret a single one. It has given me nearly 7yrs of driving ecstacy and will continue to do so for the next 7. Like you said, never gonna sell it anyway. I bought a brand new VT Clubsport R8 in 2000, sold it 8yrs later with only 24000ks and still lost shitloads of money on it. I vowed that I would never again waste a car away like that and would do what they were made for....driving. As far as value goes, look how much people are paying now for all the older cars of the past regardless of how many k's are on em. Enjoy your baby as much as you can.
I’m a lucky recent owner of one of these and absolutely love every minute in it. Even doing the school run is a pleasure. The biggest struggle is keeping it clean and unthrashed 😂 Nailed the review Ross
I sware I wish someone with shit load of cash 💸 💰 that appreciates and misses the Australian automotive industry having vehicles designed developed produced and made here....could bring back revive Holden/Ford in Australia 🇦🇺 I think people realise what's missing and that it was an awesome thing our car culture they will 100% support and buy...I think it would thrive if someone just has the balls and money to take the gamble it will take off exactly were it left from a fukn success....
Funny you say that Steve, because Holden are still honouring warranties until now. My friend had tyres replaced under warranty on his SS commodore last month. Had a 7 year warranty and they replaced it under manufacturer defect…. They also replaced his injectors last December… 🤔
We really f***** up letting Holden die off.
Not just Holden all Australian car manufacturing!

Sounds like an absolute weapon!
This is a car I would be happy to keep stock and not touch. Phenomenal, wish they kept making them.
Stock it is awesome! One of the best sounding stock commodores I’ve ever heard
But would you buy one? No one did
Pure Holden magic, I'm kind of speechless really.
This was a peach 🍑

Petition to bring back Holden- starts with you Ross! You have a big platform there has to be someone out there with a big enough budget
If only this was possible 😭

This episode hit different…when this was released I thought it was pretty damn cool…6.2 litres of American muscle with a manual transmission is epic
It’s a proper car this 😤🇦🇺

Top review Johnny, they really did save the best for last. My oldboy has the Director edition and such a awesome bit of kit 👌
No way that’s great man! Awesome car
@RossReviewsau yeah only 360 Directors made but auto only as they were top spec Calais with all the track enhancements. It's only got 8000ks
Hi mate you forgot to mention about baffled sump and how they ran one on a racetrack in America 24 hrs a a day for a month to get the track warrenty

Always wondered what commodore would of been next after the vf such a sad thing Holden shut down
😭😭😭😭
One of my biggest regrets was selling my 2006 SS Commodore back in 2019 But needed the Money so bad My Life was in so much chaos back then

😅 it really does sound great eh
Big part of Aussie history, Torana and commodore.
In Holden's last decade they sold beautiful commodores and rubbish for the rest of the lineup.
Good RR really enjoyed it. Shame you couldn’t really give it a hiding. The classic RR facial expressions would’ve been on show for sure😉🇦🇺.
Hard to find good roads in Sydney 🥲 still an awesome cruise
I swear if I was a billionaire id bring back the holden factory and continue the VF's, wether it made a loss or not!

These were going to be global platform till GFC then they only made Camaro and SS for US market...
😭😭😭
What happened to the TikTok account are we gonna be seeing a new one anytime soon?

When are you going to show video of your car wrapped?

Will Ross review the last Commodore ever that wasn't made in Australia?

The future of cars on our roads will be Chinese EV SUVs.
