Welcome to another Episode of Ross Reviews AU on this weeks Video we take a look at this 2017 VF Holden Motorsport Edition! This was the very last hurrah from holden and arguably their best ever Commodore! with a host of upgrades and for the first time a proper on track warranty! this Motorsport Edition was a great send off to the iconic holden commodore :(

We really f***** up letting Holden die off.
Not just Holden all Australian car manufacturing!
You can blame Holden for that though. Or whomever decided to start importing the shitbox Daewoo models for most of their line up. They spent more than a decade developing and building cars that the general public didn't want to buy anymore. It's their own fault, sadly.

That’s the Australian government letting big corporations become greedy man. Lack of policy, higher taxes higher inflation and costs meaning higher wages making companies less profitable overall. We drove Australia out of business for overseas cheap labour market. We always sell out! Just look at oil and gas sales compared to other countries. We short change Aus resources big time 😭😭😭😭

Totally agree Ross. The VF is a great car. I've got a 2013 Calais V 6ltr. Such nice cars and yes a crying shame they dont manufacture holdens anymore. They went out on top. Global politics and market manipulation destroyed the aussie car industry. The lions roar is in the history books now. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Mate dream car of mine. In red with a big ‘ol rear wing gives me the “fizz” as its known in the business.
You could get a nice used 5 litre Lexus ISF with limited slip diff for almost half the price and the 0-100 time in that is on par with the supercharged LS3.
Great to see one still in stock condition. Except for the magnetic ride, there wouldn't be much difference in driving experience between a Redline and a Motorsport as they both have the same engine, transmission etc. There a plenty of Motorsports out there with low kilometres as a lot of owners just don't drive them as they are the last special Commodore built by Holden. Thanks for the video Ross and thanks to the owner for letting you to rack up a few kays on a low millage car.

@RossReviewsau yeah only 360 Directors made but auto only as they were top spec Calais with all the track enhancements. It's only got 8000ks

Thank you for the review Ross. Thank you for sharing a Holden. Yes, it is a shame GM could not keep Holden in production. They tried to integrate it into the rest of GM in the end. They could not make a business case for it. I know GMC Acadia was sold at Holden in the end. The last Commodore was sold through many GM brands globally,. but it was not the car the Australians wanted. Exports would have helped. Personally GM should have some how use Pontiac or Oldsmobile to keep Holden alive, but they are gone too.
It was a Ford in the movie but we really are talking the last of the V8's and these Holdens are up there with the Falcon. Sad that they just dont make these anymore. Glad I have mine.
So sad we lost this industry

Hi mate you forgot to mention about baffled sump and how they ran one on a racetrack in America 24 hrs a a day for a month to get the track warrenty

One of my biggest regrets was selling my 2006 SS Commodore back in 2019 But needed the Money so bad My Life was in so much chaos back then

When i bought mine the prices shot up an extra 30k after 3 months. I couldve sold it and made a profit. But then i didnt know what else i would drive. Family car, ls3, manual.. for me theres nothing better. I have been using it daily. I bought a run around car and then got rid of it because life was boring with the ss parked up. You live once, cant take it to the grave, i know i will never sell it so fk it i will keep using it daily
Same as me. I have a VF2 Redline in manual that’s my daily. I’m up to 80,000km on it. People don’t realise we have limited time left driving cars like this. I’ll get my kicks whilst I can.

I sware I wish someone with shit load of cash 💸 💰 that appreciates and misses the Australian automotive industry having vehicles designed developed produced and made here....could bring back revive Holden/Ford in Australia 🇦🇺 I think people realise what's missing and that it was an awesome thing our car culture they will 100% support and buy...I think it would thrive if someone just has the balls and money to take the gamble it will take off exactly were it left from a fukn success....

They let you keep your warranty with track use but shut the company a month after the car was built 🤣
Funny you say that Steve, because Holden are still honouring warranties until now. My friend had tyres replaced under warranty on his SS commodore last month. Had a 7 year warranty and they replaced it under manufacturer defect…. They also replaced his injectors last December… 🤔
This car is probably worth 130k as is.. I bet you were SHITTING while driving this thing lol😅
