We spent the afternoon in the blowing freezing rain at the Cliffs of Dover and loving every minute of it. The kids have gotten this cold beach thing down and they loved it. After the beach, Megan had a work call so we sat in the shadow of Dover Castle and the kids were so good that we had to take them out for ice cream!

I love audible too. We used it a lot for travel when our son was young and now I use it because I've developed some vision issues and reading is much harder for me, plus I can sew and "read" simultaneously. I think I'll get your book even though I am retired. It sounds good.

I found myself going back in time in this video to 1940 when Dover played a great part in the battle of Dunkirk. The White Cliffs were a God send to pilots coming back from a mission, they knew they’d cheated death once more. And of course Vera Lyn singing “They’ll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover”. I was in Dover some years back and felt the same strong feelings, must have a spiritual connection for me. It was wonderful seeing it again through your lens.

For the plane: in Germany we call it onion look. Meaning just wear layers that you can "peel" off

It's been come and go showers for us in northern California, but we do appreciate it, don't get me wrong. It is supposed to be clear and in the 70s this weekend though. Ahh just warm enough for short sleeves I think! Have fun on your trip and the hubby and I go somewhere on our anniversary without fail every year. It is good to getaway I think and be alone together. The white Cliffs are one of my favourite places. there is a national trust visitor centre there where you can park and they have a nice café. you can then walk along the cliffs and there is a light house you can visit and a really cute tearoom.
I was brought up further up the coast in Ramsgate, we used to dig up lumps of chalk and use on our blackboard.

For the plane trip, if you haven't already left - I suggest layering.. and then you can take things off as you need.. and then you'll have them for the return trip. Will you be vlogging at your island get away??? I know it's for you to relax but it would be cool to see something :)

That shot with Mike with his rain jacket, if it was yellow he would look like the Gortons Fisherman. I'm in Hawaii and it's been a cool winter for us. Gets down to mid 60s. Which is cold actually for me. Lol! I have friends in 10 degree weather who are laughing at me because I am in jeans and a jacket.
Also those Dover White Cliffs were absolutely breathtaking.

Hi guys have only just found you , I'm living here in England where are you staying I think you are staying near where I live ?? I recognise some of the area .. Seeing the kids looking at all the rocks looking for fossils if you go along the Hampshire, Dorset coastline they will find loads of fossils there it's called the jurassic coastline . Also when you go out for meal have a look on Martin Lewis money wed site you will find loads of vouchers to eat out i.e. Half price, buy one get one free lots of different restaurants . Have a great trip away xxx
White cliffs, in Dover and War tunnels very interesting. Dover was a very important part of WW2.
Enjoy your trip. Every year at the end of January I would go from Connecticut to Florida for my birthday (which is tomorrow) to see my parents. On the plane I would layer a heavier sweater with a lighter shirt of some sort under it. And also have sandles in my carry on so I could change. Always worked for me, Unfortunately Mother passed away 6 years ago and my Dad sold the house and moved back to Massachusetts. Brrrrrrrrrr

Hi big fan of the channel and family. I went to Audible.com and found its $14.95 a month. I love self advancing through great audio books but it doesn't have to cost you anything. I live in Bend OR we have an awesome Library that offers everything and if they don't have it they will order it. So I looked up "Grit" at my library and they have a free downloadable audio book version or you can get the printed form, and audio CDs. Just another way to save money and have an abundance of knowledge. I know audible.com is convenient because you're traveling but because libraries are digital if you have a library card number you're good to go. Thanks again for all your great videos and the family dynamic is fun to watch. May God continue to watch over and bless you all in this life.
