    • @ALTheFreeMan

Agreed! I’m not an advocate for porn by any means, however, we always hear about the “porn epidemic”, but social media and it’s damaging effects on women is hardly ever mentioned. If every single man were to stop watching porn today and get back to “real life”, they would still have to navigate a world full of women who are plugged into the “social media matrix”. And because of the unrealistic expectations created by social media and dating apps, porn is the only outlet many men have these days! There are two sides to this coin!

My father caught me watching porn when I was 12 or 13. Not red handed, but caught me. He waited til we were alone to talk about it and the main the he said was “that’s not real love.” It took me about 9 years to sit back and think about the position he was in and for that to be the thing he told me. I broke down crying because he didn’t scold me and tell me that I did a bad thing, he wanted me to know the 2 people in the video don’t love each other. That statement took root deep inside me and has taught me so much.

Nearly all addiction stems from the same thing - lack of fulfillment in life. If you're depressed, suffering from abuse, lonely, and/or chronically stressed, you're more likely to turn to the quickest, easiest methods of relief possible. Most Americans turn to shit like scrolling on social media indefinitely because far too many of us are suffering from most of that list.
But quitting the addiction isn't gonna solve shit. You're still going to be depressed, chronically stressed, suffering from abuse and/or lonely. You need to fix *those* things first, and then you'll find the addiction isn't important anymore.

He said it was in the woods...we both stumbled upon the exact same magazine that my dad tried to hide. And we've both been struggling ever since then. I've had great times of freedom. Even about 2.5 years once. Another time for 10 months. But it always somehow comes back. I hate it so much. I know my adhd has something to do with it too. Bc of having a low baseline of dopamine leading to impulsiveness and a desire for quick dopamine hits. But it affects my marriage. Breaks her heart bc she has no ability to understand what I'm going through, which breaks my heart. I've got two sons and I would rather die right now then have them struggle with this too. I'm tearing up even as I write this. I hate it so much. I dont even know why I'm writing this. I guess because there are other guys out there who feel my pain. Please pray for me. Most porn stars have severe drug and alcohol addictions, mental health problems and stds. Also most of them were sexually and physically abused as children an they are reliving this out on film and in prostitution.
I don't know how people can watch abused and mentally unhealthy people get further abused in a sex film. Knowing the truth of that industry may turn you off to it.

Of course u will have ur views and they are welcome. xx
      Here's an Islamic perspective:
In islam this dark force and "whispers" is the voice of satans/demons. There are many satans/demons amongst man and jinn, varying in power.
But there is only one "iblis" (he is the original Satan that approached Adam and eve, (may peace be upon them).
He has sworn revenge and eniminity towards humanity until the final day.
This life is a test to see who repels evil with love/good/patience having believed in God. And follow God's guidance and avoid sin and whispers of iblis/satans.
In addition to this our souls (rhuu) have the ability to do both good and bad without the whispers.
God tells us to take the path of goodness. The part of our soul that lends ear to desire and weakness and excess love for this worldly things, is called the "nhaffs".
When one battles with his nhaffs to do good while a believer they are fulfilling the purpose of their creation.
The jinn reside in the filthiest of places. In the home those places are usually the bin or toilet. Guess where the tissue goes after PMO?
This way they gain access to ur seed. The life forming best part of u. And u give it away cheaply for a fleeting pleasure.
When this happens a type of magic takes effect and this can amplify their whispers to u. Possibly causing low self-esteem, anxiety, paranoia, self doubt, fear.
Notice that distinction sense of guilt, shame, embarrassment straight after PMO.
If u were interested this is just a perspective. You are feel to believe and explore as u will. Providing its legal.

Kids are curious. They’re gonna find out one way or another. Also, sex itself isn’t even harmful to know about or learn about. The harm comes from watching the idealized and heavily scripted/edited version of sex and love that probably took multiple takes and/or days to create but looks like it was filmed all in one go. This is one of many reasons people who are into porn begin to develop unrealistic expectations of sex and partners in general.

I was a porn addict for about 18 years until finally, after new years, after suffering severe performance anxiety and even questioning if I was a straight man any more, I decided to quit. As it's only been about 40 days I am still battling depression, loneliness and severe anxiety, haven't been with anyone since, but I will try to stay strong and hopefully I can one day have a healthy love life again.

I find that porn has affected my ability to focus on just one partner over a long period of time... When watching porn, if it's not really doing it for you, you pick another video. You can't do that with a person, so it's difficult to maintain that level of excitement due to variety.

You are mistaken. Let me explain: there is a pretty damn obvious connection between loneliness and prn. Ever noticed how studies talking about negative aspects of prn mainly name correlations? Case in point: many people who get divorced tend to watch a lot of prn. You can read this as either: more prn = divorce OR people who are sexually frustrated in their marriage will search an outlet. What I found over the years is that in most cases, there are three issues with prn.
In no particular order: psychosocial issues, mainly insecurity about one’s physicality & unrealistic expectations. Both are pretty common with a lot of social media but can usually be fixed with a good education on the subject because a lot of the unrealistic expectations and fears are unfounded. Can be pretty bad for a minority that is in a relationship or who are super insecure, they should then consider to stay away from prn, possibly permanently.
Next up; we have a bigger issue: candy. Prn is entertainment and some people can not handle that amount of power. They are like children who never got told that sugar is bad for them, undisciplined and weak minded. Should either stay away from prn completely or actively limit themselves.
Also an issue that can usually prevented via sexual education, the issue is that most societies don’t touch the subject so kids/teens are left to their own devices and as we all know, many kids and teens are notoriously unreliable and lack self discipline. The 18+ sign exists for a reason.
Finally there is sadly the most serious group:
copers. And they are why I mentioned the marriage example: the youth is lonelier than ever. And while the reasons are plentiful, a clear symptom is that more people think they are addicted to prn.
The sad reality is that many people can not fulfil their base sexual urges and even less their urges for companionship. This is also evident when we look at content here on TH-cam or Twitch. Check the google trends for how to get a girlfriend. Sounds innocent enough, when you mix it with the headlines of the loneliness epidemic, it becomes clear that for many people, often without realising it, prn has become their preferred coping mechanism to keep going.
Hard to fix because this is a pretty big issue
None of these three conditions are tied to addiction however.
The reason? Kids will talk about needing more extreme stuff to get off; turns out, that’s why most healthy adults take breaks between the entertainment sessions. This is because the dopamine gets broken down pretty quickly and constantly in all healthy adults. It’s why, no matter how much sex young adults have, they don’t become addicted.
It’s also why mastrubating without external help doesn’t lead to any problems, despite doing the exact same thing physically.
Prn addiction is, frankly, not a thing in any serious academic sense.

Some tips for those who are trying:
    - never feel ashamed about your addiction. So many people struggle with this.
    - every day of nofap is a small victory and will gain you something, even if you relapse after.
    - go live together with roommates (girls preferably): when you have company you cannot relapse.
    - avoid loneliness. If you are alone, go outside as much as possible
    - Dont go on social media. Nowadays its basically the same as pornography. Its useless anyway.
    - If you feel the urge, work out. Work out untill you are so tired you dont have any urges.
    its absolutely worth it.

It’s also very important to note how porn exacerbates lust and diminishes true love. The role lust plays in relationships and how porn is steroids for that lust isn’t talked about enough. People think lust is passionate love and often confuse the two. So much so that they carry out who relationships for years without really loving that person and jump ship when they start to become physically unattracted to that person. Those relationships also happen to be really problematic. Porn and society’s views of sex is so damaging to true love and healthy relationships.

It's intriguing to think about how our brains can adapt and change based on our consumption habits. This video not only broadens the conversation around mental health and relationships but also challenges us to reflect on our own habits. I'm curious if there are similar studies or insights into how other forms of media consumption affect our brain chemistry and emotional well-being. I can't remember exactly where I saw this, but there was a porn director- maybe in some type of group discussion thing?- that said one of the biggest challenges with getting young performers right now is in getting young men that can do the job. That got some puzzled reactions- aren't there a lot of guys that want to do this? And the answer is yes, there is, but now more than ever guys aren't able to get it up and keep it up to performance standards. One of the most common things that a director will see from a male performer (that probably won't make it) is that he's spent far too much time watching porn himself, so he doesn't stay aroused when he's with the female performer. They have to yell cut, then he grabs a mobile device and watches a bit of porn in order to get himself back there and then they can get a few more minutes of usable footage.
Think about that next time you're wasting time on this. You're becoming that guy. That's exactly how that guy became that guy, and it happens So Much. It's very common. It happens all the time.

Lisa Fenwick I hope leaving that comment on two people that have learned from their mistakes gave you the dopamine hit you were looking for. I really hope that little mental boost you were so desperately looking for helped you continue to ignore the fact that you are still alone, continuing to age, and the longer that you go without finding someone who will love you, the harder they will become to find. I suggest fixing your need to attack people for your own ego, the path you are on leads to nothing but a life full of pharmaceuticals, and an empty cold room filled with nothing but a dying corpse and the smell of regret.

Hi I'm a porn addict too. For me the real issue is that our society is completely filled with pornographic material. The whole internet, adverts, movies/series, video games etc etc. Even the way young women dress and behave is already totally influenced by porn. I never masturbate or have sex to porn and try to not actively seek it out. But it's almost impossible to never look at pornographic material because it's everywhere and it triggers you. You have to learn to live with it.

I agree. The triggers are everywhere. For me, it’s going to the gym. I try to just stay focused on my workout, but, there are so many beautiful women there who are dressed provocatively, and it’s damn near impossible to not take a few snapshots for the “spank bank”, lol. It seems like there are more beautiful women than ever before, and they’re dressing sexier than ever before, and they’re also harder to date than ever before! What’s an average single guy supposed to do when he has little to no chance of dating a decently attractive woman??? And I think that’s the reason why porn use is skyrocketing these days.

Sin breeds more sin and the more you get into it, the more your conscience is seared and the more you accept the evil. The more you get into porn, you then start desiring porn that is violent and just awful. The fact that you feel guilt and shame is a great thing. You haven't gotten to the point where you don't care and have no fear of God. You still know you have done wrong and ultimately you have sinned against God. A serious sin as well
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the , sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.
Now that you feel crushed with your guilt and you know in your soul that porn is wicked, what will you do?

Porn is definitely a serious problem in modern society and for young men.
I'm on my path of semen retention, and that is definitely the right way: you feel good, you have a lot of energy, you speak to people (especially women) normally and not like a weirdo, your mind and memory are clear, women see you in different way because of your energy, you definitely live better overall.
It's not easy cause porn is an ADDICTION like all the others, at the beginning I failed a lot of times, but now I'm fully convinced that all men should practice semen retention and realize that whatching porn and masturbating everyday it's a serious danger for the future.
I've always been a shy introvert guy, and since I practice semen retention I feel a lot better, the confidence, the energy, the joy of fucking living a life like a normal person is unbelievable.
PLEASE TRY IT and rise again when you fall in temptation, let me know what you think about it once you tried it, I'm sure that you will thank me! STAY STRONG YOU ALL!💪🏼❤️‍🔥

I discovered porn at the age of 6. I’m slowly trying to dismantle it. When ever I get post nut clarity. I get super depressed I feel like I’m doing nothing with my life. When I’m depressed I don’t eat. When I don’t eat I don’t make any gains. The number one thing that makes me happy is the gym. So the solution for me to progress in the gym and be comfortable around women and not see them as only sex objects is to quit pornography and go on semen retention for a while. I’m embarking on this journey to have a more fulfilling life. I hope everyone can tap into the higher selfs and progress in life.
