    When I stand, walk, run, (insert daily activity), my default posture has an Anterior Pelvic Tilt (APT). 

Many would disagree, but I consider that having an APT is not bad, is not a problem, and it doesn’t need correction.

🤨 Confused? Read till the end.

    You’ve “programed” that pelvic tilt for years since you were in your mother’s womb with daily movement habits + your genetics*. 

🧬 Genetics play a huge role in defining the shape and tilt of your pelvis.

Interestingly enough, I’ve always had an APT, and I could clearly see how my daughter has inherited that since she was born. In fact, if you have African genetic ancestry, you are more prone to have an Anterior Pelvic Tilt.

💭 Does that mean you shouldn’t do anything about it?
Yes, and No. Instead of focusing so much in your daily pelvic posture, test your core and glute strength. If you cannot do the exercise shown in the video, chances are you have a poor glute and core connection, which will block you from developing strength there. 

THAT’S WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED!

So start focusing on your tilt when doing exercises that require a Posterior Pelvic Tilt such as Hip Thrusts, Planks, Deadlifts, Hollow Backs, Push Up, Front Levers, Planches… 

✅ Your core and glutes will get stronger.
✅ Your upper and lower body connection will be improved.
✅ Your lower back and hip flexors won’t be as tight. Maybe even the nagging pain there disappears.
✅And your daily posture might improve a little, but you’ll feel in a totally different body.

Going from [APT + Weakness] to [Less APT + Strength]

      Thanks, Yassir! Very good information! I know for a fact I have very weak glutes and need to improve this. Hoping through this, my hip flexor and low back pain will decrease. Keep up the good work, SM!

      The problem is that Anterior Pelvic Tilt can cause you to look like you have a pot belly skinny fat figure, even when your abs would show otherwise! There are others who claim Anterior Pelvic Tilt could be linked to premature ejaculation because that posture causes a tight pelvic floor. Personally I've found that it also goes hand in hand with rounded shoulders and curved upper back - not good. It could be true about African ancestry but most people say that all our sitting is what causes this. APT, tight hip flexors, tight pelvic floor, tight psoas muscles, premature ejaculation - I believe all of these are connected. I can easily take out glute bridges and one legged squats, and L-sits so my glutes and abs are definitely stronger than the average Joe. Yet I have APT.

      yeah but it causes pain for some people. I play volleyball and due to atp getting low can hurt me. also aesthetically some don't like it either. my back doest touch the ground when exercising so it causes pain when doing so which is a problem. people who make the videos saying not to fix it don't understand that everyone's situation is different. that's like saying people who have a condition shouldn't fix it simply because you specifically don't have pain from it..m that isn't really fair yk?

      Apt is a problem every time you feel pain in their back. And your posture look weard. Your walking standing affect due to apt. I have a problem same and i am looking effective exercise to fix this.

      @@harrishafeez9604 I would suggest stretching your hip flexors - try butterfly pose, frog pose, pigeon pose, bow pose, dragon pose, deep yogi squat, happy baby pose. Take note of your pelvic floor muscles and try belly breath as much as possible to relax your pelvic floor muscles at all times, especially during yoga and stretches. In the gym or at home do face pulls and rows for reversing rounded shoulders. I would recommend visiting a reputable physiotherapist for a more complete diagnosis of imbalances or tightness. You could also try traditional Thai massage for general stretching and massage which is much more thorough on the body than general oil massage.

      Look up 'lower crossed syndrome' and see if those symptoms relate to you, if so there is a ton of information online on how to remedy it. Overactive hipflexors (one goes right down to the kneecap) and under active glute max is usually the main underlying factor.

    Love it. You have such a small tilt with muscle more than capable to compensate for the less efficient support and you're telling others they don't need to fix theirs, even though its causing them harm, and that's why we are seeking methods of self correction. Stay toxic bro.

      Look for an under active inner core. With probably abdominal and lumbar compensation.

    I tried fixing APT for months and today I found the solution!!!
    I was massively breathing with the belly instead of the rib cage.
    Was you were doing in the video (and that many videos teach) by contracting abs was preventing me from breathing.
    I just realised that you're supposed to breath from the rib cage. By doing it, you naturally keep abs contracted and the spine backward.
    On top of that, rib cage breathing makes you feel far more powerful and energetic.

    When I rotated my hips, I felt a tingle and few pops. When I adjust in a neutral position, I felt great. Falling back into my anterior tilt actually felt painful at first. Is that normal?

      You train it step by step.
      The person in the picture probably has very good function and trained it.
      So the issue can be hard to see.
      Also don't go to far. But train with smaller movements don't over stretch.
      Then with better flexibility add othe r training.
      Or if you do a sport or exercise.
      Then you slowly retain that easier as time goes by.

    Tried doing some strength training for squat today, first time in a while, and I don't know what to do other than glute bridges. Been dealing with this and what I think might be spinal hump on the back of my neck. Can't tell if it's just the fat or a tiny hump in the spine. Been forgetting to put a sock under it, haven't been doing gluten bridges for whatever reason. Am kind of obese. Been going to the gym outside of weights classes at high-school for a couple months now. Kinda depressed and will probably go home from workout I mentioned at the beginning.

    while in gym I felt my posture is not correct during deadlift or while rowing it's been few weeks now and I can see significant changes. Everytime I'm conscious about my pelvic tilt, I just pull it forward and try to keep it in position as long as possible while sitting, walking or even sleeping.
