Tipper, you are not silly or sappy. You are pure comfort. Please keep doing what you do, in your very special way. Love you, your sweet family and what you share with us.
From down under. Ms Johnson, exactly, so glad I stumbled upon Tipper's and the Girl's channels. Very much Family, and a pleasure to listen into. Notice how the day's stress, while still there, somewhat seems to dissolve?
Cooked to death, green beans, and potatoes and fried green tomatoes, and cornbread. And then peach cobbler, oh my gosh. Your family is going to love this. ❤❤❤
@phyllissalcido1846 Mama would do that same thing with broccoli when I was a little girl. She'd cook (boil) it to death, then cook it a little while longer to make sure it was done. To this day, I refuse to eat mushy broccoli, nor mushy squash. If they have some crunch to them, then I'm fine with eating them. Texture is a thing for me food-wise.
Love your cooking videos! After Hurricane Katrina, my son lived in a tent for a couple of weeks, and he cooked canned green beans and potatoes with an onion and some bacon cooked over fire. He developed a real love for this dish. Said he made it every day. Sustained him.
Memories of being on my grandma farm watching her snap beans with her shift dress on and an apron overtop! Of course wish those days never ended! Thank you for sharing!
My little Mamaw always kept an extra, clean white apron hanging on a nail in the kitchen, “ in case company stops by” and she’d rush in and trade her apron when someone came to visit. Oh, I miss her…..
When I was young, fresh green beans with new potatoes, cornbread, tomatoes, cucumbers, corn on the cob, and cornbread were regular summertime suppers. Still a favorite many years later. And I love fried green tomatoes.
Oh Tipper, you're starving me to death !! The best supper ever, always eat this all my life, my Daddy so loved this supper, his favorite too. My Mother cooked this supper for us all, all the years of our lives growing up. How blessed we are ! Love you.
Loved my Granny's green beans and potatoes. Oh the sweet memories. I am a great grandmother now...but I still remember how much I enjoyed her cooking. Thank you Tipper as always for stirring my memories.❤️🙂🙋
It does look a feast. I had green tomatoes today they were good. Loved the way you made the cobbler… that is the way I make mine…my husband likes a crust cobbler.
Yummy the cobbler looks delicious… yes we do fix new potatoes on ours often…up date on the critters ! Caught 2 more Raccoons this morning. No ground yet… but as we went to get my hair done, the biggest old ground hogjust down the road from us ran across in front of our car…here is a funny, my husband had to traps in the truck with the critters in them. He always unlatch cages and pushes them up to the tail gate. When he lets them out, all he has to do is let the tail gate down and the cage opens up and the critters run out…but this morning when he opened the tail gate only one critter run out…big raccoon got out, it may be laying in the road dead because he said he never stoped until he was ready to turn them out…and this evening he saw the deer again and he went chasing it back to the wooded area…we won’t have any tomato tops in the morning…we have just put out flowers and plants for the critters to eat.
I so relate to what you say about the beautiful food the garden provides, especially at this time of year. I buy a local farmer's box each week. On my pick up day, I bring everything home and carefully go through the box, washing everything and laying it out. I feel so grateful for the beautiful bounty.
I just cleaned, strung, and broke 10 pounds of green beans and froze them. We just "happened" by a guy selling them for $2 a pound (God's provides). I told him 7 pounds and he gave me three. Can you believe it? There are still good people in the world as you and Matt are living proof! I made a blackberry cobbler Sunday for after dinner. Then only difference between mine and yours is that I sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the top when it's done and then brown that for 3-4 minutes. It makes it have a sweet, crunchy shell on top! Your meal looks wonderful! Enjoy!!!
I remember almost Everytime that Mom fixed the First Green Beans and New Potatoes with ham and bacon. A Meal on it's own. Thank You Mom. 🌹🙏 I especially recall snapping beans and shelling peas with my Grandma at her 🏡 and my Mom @ our 🏡. Lots of History and Stories went along with the work. I Loved it.💗
You weren't at all soppy. You have a poetic soul, and a lovely way of describing the world as you see it ❤ I love new potatoes and green beans when they are in season, but we cook them separately in Wales. Green beans are also cooked for a much shorter time here. In the summer, we serve new potatoes tossed in butter and chopped fresh herbs. For Sunday lunch we had buttery Jersey potatoes, green beans, and sea bass. Perfect for a summer meal.
God Bless you for these videos. It takes me back to the days before I lost my Mom and Grandma, it’s like being in the kitchen with them again, and so many of the foods you make are what we grew up on. Thank you so much.
My grandma was from Ireland. She often made green beans with white rose potatoes. She cooked them slowly with onions and a quarter pound of butter in chicken stock. It was delicious and was a whole meal with homemade yeast rolls. Fond memories........❤
My grandmother made greenbeans with side meat. Oh boy, they were the best! Nice to eat together and help Corie with meals. And you get to spend time with those precious baby boys! God bless.
I have never had green beans and potatoes like that but they look delicious. Everything looks delicious and the best part is you get to enjoy it with your family. Nothing could ever be better than that.
My mouth is watering! A few days ago my supper was boiled cabbage, mashed potatoes, sliced tomatoes, and black eyed peas and cornbread. I was so full and didn’t miss not having meat. Give those grandbabies hugs and kisses from me.
I enjoy your appreciation of the beauty found in simple things many seem to overlook. In this video you delight in rinsing the green beans- the sunlight pouring through the window, playing in the water, … In the previous video I watched you were admiring the gorgeous color of your beets as you peeled and chopped them. I agree with you with all my heart. God’s attention to details- even a root that tastes like dirt has beauty!
I grew up in the south and love southern green beans cooked just like yours. My husband, however, grew up in the north and prefers a crisper green bean. A couple of restaurants around here offer southern green beans and I always treat myself.
How I miss sitting on the back porch for hours with my grandmother and great-grandmother splitting peas and stringing the beans fresh from the garden. You always take me back to my fondest memories ❣️
Mom cooked green beans and potatoes and a chunk of ham or ham bone in a pot and we ate that as a meal. It was soooooo good....my favorite dinner to this day.
Oh yes, the only thing missing is fresh ripe tomatoes, creme corn and fried okra and squash candied. As y'all often say, now that's a feast!! The true blessing of God. Amen
@@homelifewithlinda1985 slice the squash, salt and flour, fry and brown, then put some sugar according to how sweet you like it, then pour some water, just enough to let simmer until candied. I like it fried with corn meal and onions. Also just floured and fried plain. Boiled is ok. Just love squash.
I loved your description of your produce as jewels. They are truly a gift. I have had so much fun watching you cook and listening to your stories. Thank you.
Yes we do eat the green beans, potatoes, onion and bacon or ham . Yummy yummy. It’s so loving how you and your family are together. Go love those grandkids for all of us and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Than for the stellar video. Brooks, Oregon.
Hey Tipper, wow you out did yourself. 👏 I never had green beans and potatoes prepared in the same pot, let alone fresh green beans and new potatoes. 😋 you're a true blessing to your family! Continued prayers for y'all and for your viewers going through difficult times.
Your delight in working with your beans and your lovely description of the play of sunshine on the “jewels of your harvest ” as though you had a bowlful of emeralds is such a a wonderful inspiration to me! And your sense of gratitude to your Grandmother and to the good Lord as well, is so heartwarming! Thank you!
I love green beans cooked with new potatoes. My Ky mother would put on a pot of green beans when I was growing up and cook them for hours. They were so good wth new potatoes, fresh tomatoes, green onions cole slaw and corn bread. Mom cooked her beans until dry, no liquid remained I cook like her.
I got 6 jars canned our peach tree today. My grandpa would be so proud if he could see. I still have one tree not quite ready to harvest yet. They are young trees but did great this yr. My grandparents grew their peach trees from seed. We have pictures of him tending to those trees. I have his fruit picker. Precious memories ❤
Tipper, your beans, and potatoes looked delicious. Growing up, my mother never added new potatoes to a pot of beans, but she did shell fresh peas, added new potatoes, and then covered them in a cream sauce. They were a real treat. Thank you for sharing your life.
Tipper...we made a cake of your cornbread for supper and used Almond milk in it...couldn't tell the difference from using regular milk. I'm so glad I learned how to make your cornbread. It always rounds out the meal for us. Sending our love to you and the family❤
My mom would have adored you. You both talk about your jewels from the garden with such joy. The way she spoke about her tomatoes….. Yummm Tipper! I’ve never made fried tomatoes but this year I will 😊
I love the potatoes cooked in the green beans. That is how my Mother always cooked them. I still cook them like that. I’ll tell you another thing I cook on the green beans. About 15 minutes before the beans are ready, lay a few pods of okra on top of the beans. Leave the stem on the okra. You may want to trim the stem but don’t cut into the pod.
Cottage ham with green beans and potatoes has always been one of my favorite meals. Although it seems harder and harder to find cottage ham in the stores now. Also, my mother used to send me out to pick some green tomatoes for her to fry. My Dad used to pretend he was mad that Mom had me pick them before they got red, but he definitely loved her fried green tomatoes. Good memories.
Mom used to get good cottage ham from a butcher shop. Now, I only see those things in plastic wrap, and they are nasty. Mom cooked it in a pressure cooker, no green beans with it. It's one of my favorites.
Fresh garden vegetables are the best. I grew up in the city, but when we visited family they all had gardens. This was awesome and the memories are precious!
There is such joy in canning & preserving fresh produce. Hard work! But SO WORTH IT!🙏🏼 I love rinsing field peas & playing in the water! You’re not silly! You’re such a smart lady!!👸🏻💕
Yes. I love them. I remember my grandma making them when I was very little. When I seen what she made I remember getting excited 😊 bless your family. ❤❤❤ Lisa from Oklahoma 😊
Yes I love to snap Green Beans I always think of my grandma Mamie and her apron and I just loved the 60s and the 70s it was a peaceful time we always cooked with a Ham bone and of course onion cant get any better than a meal from the Garden. 💜
The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why Hitler got the power, but Christ was executed as "blasphemer" and "rioter" by denunciation of clergy. This is the reason why the whole world is Sodom. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our loved ones again! :-)
I'm jealous of those beans and cornbread! Looks like my Nanas beans, Im 54 and she's been gone a long time. And I lol'd at the number of times Nana scorched the beans by getting plumb off task doing something else. Thank you for sharing meals from home. Westen NC boy living in Atlanta. ❤❤❤
My mouth is watering. I can remember coming home from school and smelling that yummy aroma of green beans simmering. The tiny little new potatoes were added at the end. We used salt pork to season. We had Lacey cornbread. It wasn’t until I was in my 50’s that I tasted a green bean sautéed with onions and tomatoes for the first time. It was like a different vegetable. My husband said they weren’t done. I’m from the VA/N.Carolina border. Your cooking is very similar to what I grew up with. All the canning and pickling from our huge garden. Oh how I miss those times with extended family all living together and times were good. Morals were good. People worked hard but enjoyed life so much. Quite the contrary to today’s lifestyle. Your video’s warm my heart as I yearn for times gone by.
Fresh green beans w/bacon& potatoes, fried chicken & green tomatoes, cornbread & a plate of garden cubes, onions & ripe sliced tomatoes. God’s own feast!
Tipper thank you so much for sharing your supper with us. This whole meal reminds me so much of my Grandma. She was a terrific country cook and I miss her cooking so much.
What a feast! Makes me long for the days of picking beans , squash, tomatos, and green onions in Daddy 's garden early in the morning. Mother would cook all afternoon. We would also have fried chicken, sweet tea and biscuits. Mother always had some kind of dessert. What precious memories.
Oh my! What a feast!! My mouth is watering just watching. I cam imagine how wonderful everything smells and tastes. Reminds me of a meal my Mammaw would fix.
This was a typical dinner when I was growing up. My mom was such a great southern cook. I have a friend who still talks about her fried chicken.......from 50+ years ago. Can I come over for dinner?
Oh my goodness, when you were washing those beans it brought back memories of helping my granny can her beans. She always let me rinse the beans because I loved playing in the water too!
I grew up in eastern Tennessee. My father raised a garden and my mom canned (we called putting it up) and we enjoyed new green beans and potatoes all year. And what mom canned all winter. She seasoned them with fat back or bacon. Daddy raised potatoes and stored them in the basement so we ate off them all winter and had some to use for seed in the spring. They also raisedd a lot of garden vegetables that mom canned Food was so good then. They are both gone now. I miss them so much. And the olden days of my youth mom’s cooking and helping dad in the garden . I really enjoy watching you cook the old traditional way. Love cooking in case iron!
My mom used to cook green beans and potatoes together. Not every time but when she wanted to make them fancy. I haven't been doing it but now will after watching your video Brought back good memories.. Sometimes I cook my green beans till they have wrinkles but people tell me they have no nutrition when I do them like that. Still I love them that way. Meal looked delicious today! Happy to see you moved the pretty bowl the school gave you so we can see it better.
When I moved away from home and did my own cooking I discovered that green beans don't need to be broken and don't require nearly as much cooking time as my mother thought they did. 😊
We had white beans cornbread and fried zucchini and squash from our garden for supper and of course green onions. Sooo good and yes I felt proud knowing I with Gods Hand grew them. Love from Missouri
I love your cooking, fixing your plates, and eating videos. So true to life, genuine down home. You're such a great and efficient cook... Matt is a very lucky man to have such a wonderful wife! 😊👍
That is exactly how I cook green beans and new potatoes. I also make fried green tomatoes like that. I'm not sure what you used but we've always used flour, salt, and lots of pepper. That's a meal we've commonly had all my life. I learned to cook this way from my mom and she learned from her mom. Definitely my comfort food. Please tell Matt I had a sliced up Cherokee Purple with supper tonight and have several waiting for me to devour. 🤤😁 God bless y'all.

So glad you enjoyed it 😊
A throwback to my childhood. My mom made this all the time.
Mine too......green beans and new potatoes .....that we grew. Sometimes she would use the little red potatoes. Soooo good.
I love all that! Reminds me of the meals we would get at Granny and Pawpaw’s. Yummy!😊
Love anything from the garden, but fried green tomatoes are Soo yummy,
Fresh green beans w/bacon& potatoes, fried chicken & green tomatoes, cornbread & a plate of garden cubes, onions & ripe sliced tomatoes. God’s own feast!
Tipper thank you so much for sharing your supper with us. This whole meal reminds me so much of my Grandma. She was a terrific country cook and I miss her cooking so much.
love that home style meal, makes me wish i still lived on the farm. I miss my garden and all the fresh wonderful healthy food. Bless you all!
Oh yes! I grew up in the foothills of the NC mountains, and mama made green beans and new potatoes often! Such good memories! 😊
Love green beans and new potatoes together. Food looks delicious.
One of the few things I like about summer..... A fresh vegetable summer meal.
We grow lots of green beans and I love rattlesnake beans. Will definitely try your way if preparing them. Looks delicious.
I love getting ideas of different things to cook, everything looks so good🙏🏻🙏🏻🫂❤️
Supper looks yummy. I love fresh green beans with new potatoes. Everything looks so good. I can almost taste everything. Thanks Tipper.
Yes, growing up my Mom cooked new potatoes with green beans. Loved them!
Love green beans and potatoes. Have had them several times this year ❤
My mom used to cook green beans and potatoes together.
Love those memories 😊
When I moved away from home and did my own cooking I discovered that green beans don't need to be broken and don't require nearly as much cooking time as my mother thought they did. 😊
I like them sautéd in olive oil and butter with garlic and shallots.
We had white beans cornbread and fried zucchini and squash from our garden for supper and of course green onions. Sooo good and yes I felt proud knowing I with Gods Hand grew them. Love from Missouri
Had some fried green tomatoes for supper tonight another great cooking video thanks for sharing 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you 😊
My Mama always cooked up fresh green beans with new potatoes and I do the same. You cook like we always have. Love your family.
We had fresh beans and potatoes this past weekend !! So good.
Love green beans and new potatoes with cornbread. Those fried green tomatoes look awesome!
I'd step in line for your meal.
Summer and vegetables,nothing to compare.
I love your cooking, fixing your plates, and eating videos. So true to life, genuine down home. You're such a great and efficient cook... Matt is a very lucky man to have such a wonderful wife! 😊👍
Oh thank you 😊
Sweet precious memories from Granny ❤❤❤
Supper looks delicious. Nothing is good as fresh from the garden. Praying for your family and the babies.
Memories. Best eating there is.
