Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) videos to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers and zero turn mowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, zero turn mower, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.

Its missing the little clip to suspend the float pin so I have to find one of those and an air filter cover.
I love these small engine projects..Thanks again!

I have a Lawn Boy that is similar to yours that I bought in 1981. It's the only mower that I've ever owned. These last few years, it's been harder and harder to start, especially on cold days. I dismantled the carburetor and cleaned it out, following your instructions, and now it fires up on the FIRST pull. Thank you for your help!

I do not know that I can attain the skill level that you have, sir, but your video rocks! Thank you! I have a Lawn Boy 21 High Gas Walk Behind Push Mower with Kohler Engine that it clogged. It came from Home Depot and I have only used it three times. After the 2nd use and the winter, it had to go to the repair shop. About 2 months ago, it fired right up, and 2 months later which was yesterday, it would not start. Now, I am going to go read the owner's manual (gag!) and see if there is a fuel line switch that may have been turned off as I struggled to lift it back into my storage shed. Thank you so much, Mary in Austin, Texas.

I started cleaning my carb, and realized I didn't know what I was doing. It had been years since I had done this, and the last carburetor that I rebuilt was a Holly double pumper. It's a little different. I was afraid that I was going to miss something. Thank God I found your video. I had already done what you said up to removing the float(prior to seeing your video), but you took me the rest of the way. You helped me not go astray, Thanks, your a life-saver.

I miss my old 2 stroke lawnboy all that blue smoke it poured out, it still ran but all the linkages were broken and the exhaust and stuff was screwed up, still have the engine too i hooked a little lawnmower wheel up to the bottom of the crankshaft and it has just enough counterweight to start with a drill!

I enjoyed that tutorial, I have a 1997 Lawnboy that I paid $300 for back in college to use for side mowing jobs and it has never failed me yet, all I do is keep a 32:1 mixture, Stabil fluid in the fuel tank in the winter, and sharpen the blade once a year old school style with a file. I plan to keep that mower forever.

Thanks for the video. I found one of these on the side of the road today with a free sign on it. It had sat out in the rain for i think at least a year or two. I was bored so I took it home to see if i could get it running. Cleaned the carb and removed about 3 lbs of oily mud off it. The recoil is still super loose on it but I got it fire up and run. No smoke, runs good. I think it was manufactured in 1988.
Any advice or videos on how to reload the spring on these? Thanks Dony

I NEVER knew that there were supposed to be plastic plugs on the screw access holes! I bet they get lost a lot any time the carburetors got cleaned! Maybe now I can teach you something: you don't have to tear apart the filter screen to get at the jet, it pulls off the bottom if you pull hard enough. But you probably figured that out since then. Cheers.

Great vid, I learned a lot about this. question, on my 8237 LB, I serviced the carb, which had bad gas. The high and low rpm selector doenst really do anything, like its stuck in low. @ things I noticed, Crank is wet underneath, so need new seal, and primer hose is hard. do you think those two are the culprit? This is my first LB experience, also I checked the wind gov. it's not set too low. Any Ideas would be much appreciated.

Hi, After watching your video I was able to remove and clean the Lawn boy carburetor and it fixed my surging problem. I only have one question regarding the plastic sail. My spring became detached when I removed the carb and there appears to be 2 places where it might be reattached. There is a little plastic nib on the carb housing that might be an attachment point or there are other plastic parts that swing back and forth with the sail that may hit the spring if it is just left to hang free. Could you tell how to attach the spring on the sail? Thanks for all of your useful videos.

Im not Dony, but I would say check for spark at the spark plug. No spark, no start. If you have spark, its a fuel issue. Clean the carb and try it again. It will take you about ten minutes after you get it off and removal will be about another fifteen. Should be good as new then.

I have the same model in this video. I've used your videos to take everything down, clean, and re-assemble. I have one problem that stumps me. When it starts running the rpm is so low it can barley cut light grass and runs ruff. As the gas tank runs empty the rpm picks up considerably for about 30 seconds until the gas runs out. It seems like maybe its running too rich but I don't see any adjustment for that. Any ideas you might have would be greatly appreciated.
