Silver Bayonet got me into the hobby, and all my models are 15mm ($ & space are two things i don't have much of). I love it because i dont feel like i have to be precious with the models
Who says having one 15mm model means the entire game needs to be that scale- maybe the band got cursed in some way and shrunk down, then you could have a mix of whatever scale you want at the time with a funny backstory to tell your opponents.
What a lovely video! The thing that will stick with me most about your trip was your face when I woke you up the day after salute with a fresh black coffee and a buttered crumpet. That or my son chopping your leg off about 30 times.
I really enjoy "travel size" wargaming and painting to a "tabletop ready" standard on a 15mm scale model is not only incredible quick but also looks way better than it should when you start moving all the tiny minis around together at arms length. Half-scale is obviously most appealing for when you just don't have space for a full 4'x4' board or bigger but having a little pocket skirmish game ready to go at a moments notice is its own kind of fun, imo. Great paint job and glad you enjoyed Salute. Thanks for sharing!
Another great video Alex. Thank you for the decision to take the focus off of the meeting up and seeing other TH-camrs and famous people in the UK. Im beginning to find most channels are falling into this insular and unapproachable subject matter, it makes me really appreciate you and your channel.
Great vid and with so many other great vids referenced it works as must see compilation too. That's a lovely finished mini, and in all of the troops raised for the wars of Napoleon someone absolutely would have uniformed his personal retinue in vivid orange and green. The colours definitely bring the tiny guy to life and a dozen of his company advancing in two lines across a verdant green field would just make you grin to see. Great vid and with so many other great vids reminders it works like a must see reminder too.
Thank you Phil! I might want to try and do more of a "brown" one. Like, some renegade battalion without coloured uniform. But then I'll have to figure out some kind of signal colour somewhere to bring them to life. The "red hats" perhaps.
@@52Miniatures As another english fan of the Sharpe books, I particularly enjoyed how the series represented the spanish guerillas. As irregulars entirely in non-uniform clothing it was mostly browns and many individuals wearing a decorated jacket, fancy boots or cool hat that they'd clearly looted as borrowed finery. They looked every bit the forerunners of low budget movie mexican revolutionaries, just a bit more musket and sword than pistolero
I recently painted a resin print of a space marine and a gretchin from the 2nd edition 40k and it was actually a lot of fun to paint something this small using a less "serious" color scheme!
You look so happy on this one! :D The studio is looking really good! Less like a bunker. ;) That shot of the city with the meteor showers on the sky was beauuuuuutiful! Awesome videography as usual! ;)
I'd love to see a full warband! I feel like playing a skirmish game you could focus more on making the table look spectacular since it's so much less space to have to build for. I love the games Joseph makes and this is an interesting project idea! If you do more please share where you track down more minis in that scale. Thanks for another great video 😊
15mm on regular round bases look surprisingly good. Food for thoughts, playing 28mm games with no other changes but miniature scale seems possible, might even makes range make a little more sense with guns.
Maybe horde of the things will help with 15mm creativity since is a fantasy system that has a lot of freedom in army composition. I really like playing it
I'm of the opinion that almost all 28mm+ wargames can be reduced to 15mm and play the same, but are suddenly much cheaper and easier to store. It's an excellent scale.
I have tried to goad various you-Tube painters to have a go at 15mm historicals, for wargaming (welcome to my world, or at least one of them). Now paint another 250 and you'll have an army.
Wonderful video as usual Alex, beautiful shots - love 15mm gaming, quick and cute! Was great to bump into you :D - you make my home city look lovely here.
Fantastic video Nice to see Guy and Mamikon but really really extra nice to Silver Bayonet make an appearance So…. Anything you may do in regards to Silver Bayonet is much appreciated
Lovely video. And bonus close up Nessa! Maybe the real Salute painting awards were the 15mm scale british riflemen* we were gifted along the way? *They're probably line infantry, dont @ me historicals fans - I can tell as well as the next man that the colour scheme Alex has used is obviously the kings 95th royal detachment of lil' guys
Great video. I paint 6mm, 15mm and 28mm Napoleonic miniatures. I also have Silver Bayonet, I have not played it yet but hopefully soon. I live out in Vällingby and if you want to play some historical miniature wargames, let me know. It would be cool to meet you since you also live in Stockholm! Skål!
I don't paint anything biger than 20mm anymore or game with. Smaller is easier, cheaper and a lot less room to store and game. At the moment I'm painting some 6mm Napoleonic French. Need to find those Orcs though...............
15mm is really tiny! You did a great job with this little guy. Did you have the same feeling of accomplishment as with regular sized minis? I guess I would have the urge to zoom in and work on even smaller details 😂 Do you plan to visit other conventions?
There was def completion feelings. Almost more that normal just because the paint job went swift and fast. "Am I done already? wow". Other conventions would be great but its a bit of a budget thing, having to travel rather far :)
As a Napoleonics nerd I was disturbed to see that your soldier belongs to no known regiment - unknown in the real world, that is, which, given the game’s premise, obviously cannot be argued with. If you’re planning to build an entire unit from this mysterious corps, however, you may want to consider what battle honour(s) should be embroidered on its Colonel’s colour; Sartorial Taste would perhaps be as good as any. On the other hand, as I believe the game allows you to form your unit from a variety of parent regiments, you have the opportunity to add, say, a Highlander (you’ll love painting the tartan on the kilt, I’m sure) and, of course, a Rifleman on detached duty, perhaps replacing the overall rifle green with a magenta and yellow combination for maximum discombobulation of the spectral enemy, to say nothing of your fellow players. The possibilities, for good or ill, are endless.
It is not your best video. And I'm not writing that to do any harm - I do it out of love and admire. There should be minis painted not as good as we get used to, and there should be videos like that. I will not unsubscribe, I will not hate the channel and I do not mean, that that is something wrong with you. I'm just glad, that it is not always perfect. And, hey, it may be only my opinion - I think, that if I always share good opinion about the channel, I can get away with one a little worse (but honest as usual). Always waiting for your next video. Always wish you the best! Thank you for all the work!
But have you and ‘Mr Latham’ ever been seen in the same room together…?
Press X to doubt
The plot thickens!
You're a natural born story teller, Alex. Thank you for another opportunity to be still for ~18 minutes.
I appreciate it Michael!
I haven't painted a mini in months. This has inspired me to pick it back up again. Thank you!
Great to hear, I appreciate it!
What a lovely idea with a smaller 15mm version of Silver bayonet! A travel size wargame. 👍
To paraphrase Tom & Ben: The tinier the toys, the more fun they are to play with.

Jam or Marmite on the crumpet?
@@cabe_bedlam just way too much butter for a sneaky 7am treat ;)
Hah! Best recovery bounce back ever. I’m struggling to think of a Swedish equivalent as good for whenever I can repay the deed 💜
What an excellent video Alex...also much love for the shout out.
Now im heading off to watch the Monster Hunter!....genius work btw
😍
Thanks Peach! It was good to meet and I hope you like the Monster Hunter video :)
Whenever I need a little boost of inspiration, I just need to watch one of Alex's videos. Thank you Alex. Keep up the amazing work.
Great stuff! I appreciate it

I love the smaller scales. Epic, Warmaster and 6mm micro armour WW2 miniatures.
I know we're almost half way through the year, but I like the idea of it being a Silver Bayonet year. We can always do with more.
I mean... who know come fall - also the best season for horror right?
And thank you as always for the boost!

When sealing metal miniatures I find that using a gloss varnish helps against chipping. Then knocking down the gloss with a matte varnish works well.
Very true!
Thank for the company during my own hobby time!
Lovely miniature and backstory for your choices. Thanks for an interesting video and overview of your adventurers.
Always good to see you upload! Your insight and calm voice really make your videos a fun watch!
Loooooooovely!
Thanks Mate, it was lovely seeing you and hopefully for longer next time.
I love your videos! Beautiful painting and lovely storytelling ❤😊❤
Thank you so much 😀
@@52Miniatures you are very welcome 🤗
Hi Alex. Lovely video and miniature painting. Sorry I missed your previous video. I'll be sure to watch it later. Glad you enjoyed London. 🎨🖌️
Thanks TOG!
We need more small scale miniatures :) They rock. As do you!!
thanks Toni!
Really enjoy how you shot your videos, its so relaxing and cinematic!
I appreciate it HH
if you're making various warbands, one could be more regimented and the other more rag-tag and rakish.
Maybe horde of the things will help with 15mm creativity since is a fantasy system that has a lot of freedom in army composition. I really like playing it
Thanks for the tip 🙏
Wow, what a charming video. Thanks for sharing Alex. Really enjoyed this one!

also 03:00 for the best bit of the video x

Such a classy video. Always love how you film your video's and edit them. Great content as always!

Great vid as usual Man. Silver bayonet looks so amazing

I saw you at Salute! But it was in the men’s toilets so I thought I’d better not bother you.
Hah! That probably avoided an awkward wet handshake moment. :)
Operation, "goose algorithm" is a go.
Thanks Gary!
I would've used a "Penny" for the size comparison.
Agree! I just didn’t have one :)
The smallest denomination in Sweden is a 1 krona coin, and I somehow don't think it's a very relatable object for scale.
Yay!
