I really appreciate this video. I'm replacing my screen right now and your video is a big help. One thing, though, for anyone about to attempt this replacement: WEAR GLOVES! My screen was delaminated more than the one in the video and that adhesive gets EVERYWHERE and it's really hard to get off. It would've been nice if you showed, or even said, how you dealt with the adhesive, instead of just saying, "I cleaned it up." I'm using a paper towel and just kinda wiping the worst of it off. It's not working very well, so if anyone has a better idea... *update* I ended up using a microfiber cloth, which left less fuzz behind than the paper towel. And when it came to putting it all back together... First of all, I did it on my desk rather than on a car seat, which makes the whole process much easier. Then I got my Wi-Fi antennas plugged back in, set all of my stand-offs in place, and carefully lowered the cover (with the circuit board) onto the front part. I held onto the black port on the back to keep the circuit board and the metal frame together while I lowered it. Lastly, I very carefully slid each screw into its hole and once they were all in place and I was sure everything was lined up, I tightened them one by one. Great success!
Thank you for the feedback. We also struggled with getting it off and tried random cleaners and such and didn’t think anyone wanted to watch the struggle as we try to get straight to the point. We ended up using a combination of goo gone and window cleaner with a microfiber cloth. Thanks for watching and glad the video was helpful. Cheers!

Hi, I have a 2018 Jeep Compass; my screen has had lines running through it since the summer. After the car cooled off, it would be fine; touch is still responsive. Now it is winter where I live, and when I turn my car on the screen has lines on it, and while the touch screen is still responsive you can't see anything until about 30 minutes of the car being on, everything works normally again even the backup camera. Would this be a screen issue or a wire issue? I read somewhere online that it could be a a wire but I have no idea what wires to order just incase. I don't want to open it up and not be able to fix the issue Thanks in advance
It sounds like the cold is affecting the connection to the screen and when it warms up then the connection is restored. I don’t know what wires it could be, but it would be worth taking apart. Disconnecting and reconnecting wires to see if that restores the connection. It’s a possibility that there could be some corrosion on the pins of the wires/cables and may be a good idea to clean them with rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab.
I have a similar issue with my 2017 Compass. The lines appear MOST of the time except when I hit a bump or the car gets really warm. I suspect a loose solder or wire but have not been able to find it!!!

I’m having the same issue with my jeep but I had a question ! Can I just replace the whole radio as in the screen and “brain” and just hook it up ? Or would that not work
That would work but the cost is going to be higher and it’s gonna do the same thing eventually. Not sure if these radios have codes that need to be entered.
You could use a little di-electric grease at the base of the stands offs thatll essentially keep them "glued" in place and you wint need to worry about them consistently falling over
Do the tuning/power knob and volume knob still work? I'm wanting to replace my screen so I've been researching and I've read some stuff about how the tuning/power knob and the volume knob no longer worked.
The glue you see is the display adhesive that secures the digitizer to the lcd. It helps seal the gap between the glass and the display for better optical clarity. It’s not supposed to turn into goo but given how hot it can get in a car when it’s extremely hot that will definitely weaken the adhesive and melt it.
