UPDATE: I DID IT! Thats the first time I have ever done anything like this, i always thought myself to be a bit lacking in technical skills with vehicles and audio systems, but your video helped GREATLY, and helped give a complete newb confidence to do it! One thing Id like to let users in UK and possibly EU all together the radio system is the same HOWEVER the build is different, therefore, ONLY the vents and casing on front will come off when you pry it off, the radio will be screwed into a mount that is actually built into the dash itself, but the only difference is that once you unscrew the hex bolts loose, the radio itself will come out so there will be no need for needlenose plyers as the radio is not attached to the vents and faceplates. Other than that it was exactly as you stated every step, you guys are a huge help and thank you for giving me the confidence to do this myself, saved me almost 1000 off quotes I was given online from Fiat/Jeep dealerships!
Just completed this project today! Thank you for this video! We followed along and had zero issues! Took around 45 min start to finish bc the clips were difficult to undo at first. Back up camera works fine! We lived with that devil screen for over a year! Never again! 😂🎉
Thank you for your directions. As a victim of the delaminated screen, I can attest to its demon like behaviour. If you want to create a very entertaining reality tv show, put cameras in a delaminated screen users vehicle. I can confirm that the interaction between the user and the screen is far more entertaining than 90% of the current shows running today.
I just changed my jeep’s screen just the way they say it in the video and it worked just perfectly 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 I did not disconnect the battery though. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this video, I will be attempting this myself in a few days, I got the screen and goo gone but I am waiting for the radio pry bar (plastic) to get here as this is going to be my first time ever doing anything like this :) but the video made it look pretty straight forward so thank you!
Thanks for the video, my wife has a 2019 compass that has the smaller screen I believe, I purchased the screen on eBay, I hope the install will be the same, I have all the tools I’m just worried about messing up her dash with the pry tool. But it has to be done, dealer says radio has to be replaced with a price tag of around $1300.
@@newzcutter it turned out great, getting the dash bezel where the vents were located was the hardest part, not really hard, I was just concerned I might damage the dash, I used a plastic trim tool, and it worked fine. The rest was just like the video, remove the layers of the component, reassembly was a breeze. Works better than new now, been about 6 months and no issues.
Good to hear! I have a 2019 compass too and half of my screen went black the other day but now it’s back to normal. I’m guessing I’m going to have replace my screen eventually. Good to know we have options other than getting ripped off at the dealer.
I see nobody responded to your question, for those in the USA, the screen can be purchased on the link in the video description, for those in Europe or UK, just copy and paste the item description from USA Amazon into Amazon UK or EU and it will give you more local results, or you can buy off American amazon as well just keep in mind you may have to pay import tax depending on your location if its coming from USA.
Did anyone find that this screen issue was draining their battery? We replaced both the reg battery and aux battery after numerous times of it dying and still it seems there is something draining the brand new batteries quickly. Now thinking it’s the screen with the delaminated issue constantly pressing buttons on its own. We can’t even turn off the screen as it turns back on its self.
There is an auxiliary battery mounted in front of the main battery, supplying power to the vehicle FYI

How about fixing the screen instead of replacing it?
I can’t do this myself and I don’t want to go to the dealership, what kind of garage would you recommend I take it to ?

Can you send me info on how I could buy that same screen? That's the exact same problem I'm having with my 2018 Jeep Compass!😐Thank you

did that glue cause the issue ? was that why the screen delaminated?
Just wondering do the heated seats still work with the after market radio?
