This comment section is bonkers. Lol People… find your sense of humor. Trust me, nobody is telling you what to wear or not to wear. The main message of the episode is wear whatever makes you feel great about yourself!!! I made an episode for the fellas about what women hate, and another about what women find super sexy on a man, and then a bunch of people asked me to make one for the gals. This is it! Take a deep breath and enjoy what the guys had to say. 🤷🏻♀️
What’s the point of asking for advice (via watching the video) if all you’re going to do is be defensive about the advice? Take what you find useful, don’t pay attention to the rest, and resist the urge to brag about how you just don’t fit into any of the categories described.
That's so true!! I can be around the house with my hair in a bun, no make-up, sweat pants and my husband is still pawing at me, trying to kiss me! LOL! :)
I wear jeans, a white t-shirt and oversized blazer with kitten heels or low boots. I have shoulder length hair and let it go grey - it's shiny and healthy. I wear a bit of makeup and a light spritz of perfume. I feel beautiful at 59 and don't care if others disagree - I'm happy and healthy:)
I’ve always worn a full face of make up. Years ago I had the Lasik eye procedure and was not allowed to wear make up for a week. I felt so insecure and scared. I was at the gym and the hottest guy there hit on me. I guess men really don’t like a lot of make up.
I've had a lot of guy friends over the years and can attest they don't like a lot of makeup. I wear makeup, but natural looking makeup. I actually had a friend say, he wanted someone who didn't wear makeup like me. I informed him I had on foundation, blush, mascara, etc. A full face of makeup just lightly applied and natural looking. He had no idea I wore makeup 😂
I have very short hair, and I had a boyfriend who once asked me to grow my hair out for him. He said that he loved to play with long hair. Now I use to have very long hair, but due to my having health problems my hair started to thin and fall out. I told him this, but he really wanted me to do this for him. Finally after years of this I clapped back and told him that if he wanted long hair, he could grow his own hair out then he could then play with himself! (Needless to say, we are no longer together)
My long hair is wavy and thick. I don't like men running their fingers through it because it's going to get stuck. A lot of men's reaction is to yank their hand through it. Not sexy and sometimes painful. I have had men grab my hair and that feels threatening.
I cut my hair to slightly below my chin after having longer but thin hair most of my life. Men tell me they love it. Strangers, friends, whoever. While I know they normally like long hair I think it’s how it is carried and overall vibe. My haircut made me “sexy sophisticated” as I’ve heard over and over. One married man at the beach stopped me as I walked across the room to say he wasn’t trying to hit on me that he was happily married but thought I should know my hair cut is perfect that you rarely see the perfect haircut like that anymore. He was like 70’s im early 30’s.
@GalaxyFluke Oh wow that sounds so amazing, now I would love to see your haircut! I have long, very fine hair that is thinning at the scalp lately. I am getting ready to go short and donate it! Would you mind sharing your sample pictures? I've had a bob in the past but I'm afraid to go too short.
The maxi dress one has been so untrue in my experience. Guys love it when I'm wearing them, especially when we're on dates or our first meetup. They compliment how graceful and elegant I look and often compliment my dresses too.
@@TehyaSB how wonderful that you found something that makes you feel great and looks good on you-yeah and is admired. These are not rules just generalities. Personally I look like a I’m walking in a hole in a long dress. My very long legs require not being hidden under flowing fabric. Point is… Everyone is different! 🤎
Yeah, that one is confusing. There's a whole side to the shorts at the beginning of summer where men are excited for maxi dress season. My husband loves them
How about what turns women off in men.....poor grooming, gross tattoos, baggy or messy clothes, low backside or droopy pants, uncoordinated patterns and colours, high tide pants, dirty or worn down shoes, open chest exposing shirts, white socks and belts.
Most of those men aren't dressing for you. They're dressing for themselves. Sound familiar? Incidentally, I'm above fifty, sport no tattoos, go clean-shaven or with a two-day stubble, and wear a plaid button-up and blue jeans virtually everywhere. That is all between a cowboy hat or rancher cap and cowboy (saddle or roper) boots. I dress this way for me. I would never assume all women (or any woman) should like it.
Personally I don't like men being so in to what women wear, makeup, hair etc There is something somewhat magical about a woman putting herself together, that a man should be confused and down right ignorant about. He is supposed to be confused about if I cut or colored my hair or if I'm wearing extensions. He is supposed to be confused about if it's the same dress I wore last week or a new one. He is just supposed to say "Wow you look amazing!" I know many women disagree and would feel offended if a man doesn't notice her hair or dress etc but I prefer them to be ignorant. In fact, that's what I look for.
I so agree. Thank goodness my husband is clueless to fashion and style. He knows good and bad, but no specifics. I honestly have found it's feminine men who are too into women's fashion.
@Learaks I In the 1980s, in West LA, there was a restaurant called Moonin' Tunis, where the bellydancer danced upon the tabletop while we ate the Hungarian Slop from a tray. The sparkly brazier was magnifico!
@@T-Babbbldot That sounds fun! At a Greek restaurant, I sat on a small table while one guy grabbed the corner by his teeth and his friend lifted the other corner with one hand. They would prance around with me playing the zills lounging on the table. Everything gets rowdier when the dancer literally steps off of the floor.😀
This is hilarious! I once read a young adult gal talking about her experience when she had a Pixie cut. She said that in her experience, a Pixie has been one of the best filters to know a man's true intentions. That was a very interesting article I read a few months ago. I'm rocking a lovely Pixie at 52yrs old for the past 10 months.
You are you and tats' and lancing your body is not needed and not attractive. Real, good men are looking at you, into you. Plus, Listening to women about women? Listen to men of your wasting your time.
Had short hair all my life. Never have wanted for male attention ever. It’s all about how you rock it, baby. You can wear a burlap bag if you wear it with total confidence.
I don't wear any of that stuff....just jeans or leggings , oversized Shirts. My hair is very long , ponytail or messy bun , still natural brown -- i'm 64 😂
In my experience, men don't like ANYTHING overdone whether it's over the top hair, makeup or clothing. A fresh natural look and simple but not dowdy-looking clothes in colors that flatter you work best such as well-cut jeans and a red deep v-neck sweater, for example.
@@monicalong1371 I think Men like women in brighter colors, they get tired of seeing us in black or dark colors! I used to have a Chartreuse outfit I wore with fuchsia accessories! I always got compliments from men!
When my lady comes down the staircase and she is looking beautiful. I appreciate all the effort she took to look her best for us. Whether it's a quick bar burger, run to the ice cream palour or dinner and a movie. Whether or not I really "love" one look over another it's the effort to make me look like I made a great choice in a life partner. Love one another out there :-)
I dress for own pleasure. What brings me joy. Now when i care about a man, of course i want to look nice to him but primarily i dress for my own pleasure. I really dont think i dress for other women.
@@CoffeewithCarey So you are referring to the old one-up-(wo)manship? The age old "I'm prettier/better/sexier/richer/successful-er/[fill in the appropriate blank] than you and can take your man if I want to!" adage?
I have never worn any of the items you have mentioned. Always had positive attention from men. Still slim, petite, aging gracefully at 74. I have subscribed to your channel.
I have and ALWAYS dressed for myself,my personal style and what makes me feel authenticity beautiful even on a date. I never have changed anything about myself to please someone else. I appreciate compliments from women and will never downplay women about their styles as we are all doing our best! I may wear an outfit that my friends would never wear and visa versa but i accept them for who they are inside and out! 💞
I wear a pixie haircut for the past 4 years, from bold, sexy ginger, blonde platinium to 90s natural kind look, I'm shamed online but it's well received by men irl. I remember a dude saying to me "A woman with short hair knows what she wants". If you rock it, rock it, the guy you want to attract will be down if he likes you.
If I didn't have a big head and a scrawny neck, I'd get a 1920's flapper bob. I'd put marcel waves in it too - I love that look! But I keep my hair at about collar bone length these days. It used to be a lot longer, past my butt. But for some reason people thought it was OK to come up behind me and put their hand on it! I'd feel somebody touching me and whirl around ready to fight for my life, and it would just be some idiot standing there saying "You got pretty hair." I finally cut it. It's the same hair and it's healthy and shiny but nobody tells me it's pretty any more. And I am perfectly OK with that. This looks like a fun channel. Subscribed!
@@StellaWaldvogel touching your hair like they touch pregnant lady’s tummies! What’s with people and a lack of personal space/ boundaries? I don’t know what you mean by a scrawny neck. But I wish I had one at all. Lol Welcome to the channel! Ps. Maybe that flapper vibe was yours in a previous life. 🤔
As a woman, I have to say I agree with all of these. Hair extensions, huge earrings, long fake lashes, tallon nails, overdone makeup all scream low class. And big tattoos and large holes in your earlobes make you look like a psych patient.
As a woman who has short hair, I’m grateful that my husband says that he doesn’t love me for my hair. I know if can be hard on him sometimes that I don’t look more feminine. But it’s hard to grow out this buzz cut and whenever we do chores, I really (used to) hate if it gets in my face. However, I think we have found a compromise. I still wear dresses sometimes, and when I do, I can tell that my husband really likes it. So you know. I don’t dress for him everyday, but some days I make a little more effort, and that goes a long way. 😊
I do my own thing. I dress to suit myself. I'm not interested in others' opinions of my clothes, hair length or anything else. I like my hair long. Most women my age don't.
I (68F) used to have long hair. I kept telling myself that I would do things with it--chic up-dos and whatnot. Never did. I always wore it in a ponytail, usually braided and pulled through the back of a ball cap. I finally cut it all off and now have very short hair. I kind of miss the long hair, but it always looks better on hair models than it ever did on me. Also, my hair now dries in five minutes. That said, I think that healthy, well maintained long hair looks great on women of any age, including older women.
I always find it funny which kind of man think they are entitled to have opinions about a woman’s looks and are not afraid to tell on a first date: One guy telling me he does not like short hair on girls so I should not cut mine, himself wearing a ”comb-over” of the size of a saucer. One guy telling me he expects that the girl is very well put together on a daily basis, I could smell his body odour over the table. One guy pointing out only slim girls are sexy enough for him, smiling with yellow/brownish teeth and reaching out for my hand with extremely unkept fingernails.
I have found that the upkeep on short hair is much more to keep that style. Cut every 4 to 6 weeks at least. Also with my long hair I have many more style choices. I can wear it up or down depending on my mood or what I am doing. I will never go back to short hair.
I feel that way too. My mother has been bugging me to go back to a hairstyle. I had 25 years ago. “You look so pretty in that headshot on my piano…” Oy 🤦🏻♀️
It really depends on the kind of hair you have. Mine is fine, dry, and curly. It is currently long because my husband loves it (yeah, I know, but I like to make him happy, sometimes) and that means I need super gentle shampoo, heavy conditioner, and some kind of leave-in, and I need to braid it at night so it doesn't tangle and break when I sleep on it. When it is short, I can just shampoo it, mess up the curls with my fingers and go. A bit of conditioner from time to time, but I don't need all sorts of special products or protective styling.
Before I started dating my husband I had a ton of male friends, including ex-boyfriends. They LOVED to take me shopping and buy me clothes. One in particular loved shoe shopping. Maybe it's me because I'm into artists and musicians and they are into clothes and creativity. But, yeah, my husband is also an artist and musician, very much into my clothes/fashion/style. He said I make him look good. He doesn't buy nearly as much as I do, but when he does he truly rocks it as well.
@@CoffeewithCarey Yeah, the kind that genuinely love their female friends and women they are involved with. I've always had my "jerk" radar on so I could detect the losers and run from them. Ha-ha! :) (Not saying that men that don't love clothes are losers, but I just like to be with guys who I could have a friend vibe with).
I have long blonde hair and men always comment on it. In the summer I do put it up.i paint my nails no one has ever said anything bad about it. They say they like the colour. I wear natural makeup.
I love to have my hair long, but the one time it was VERY VERY short a european accented older man parked his car to tell me how great it looked as I left the salon!
Yep. Mother & my sister sit in outdoor cafes or at home & criticise & tear other women's fashion choices apart. It embarrasses me & make me sick to my stomach. They also tell me & everyone else that I have bad taste & no fashion sense because I don't follow the fads & trends like they do. I did tell them that I wasn't a Kardashian....like them Now, I simply ignore them & try to avoid them & their black tongues.
I only dress for myself. My closest friend recently didn't like the pants I was wearing but I didn't care. She wears jeans every day so she doesn't dress to impress either
I do dress for men, primarily. However I'll only wear clothes in which I feel like myself, in a way. Men should see me as a woman, but also as which "type" of a woman I am: taste-wise, peer-group-wise, interests-wise.
The shapeless part of your comment can be dealt with in proper styling. Again, we have to be clear on what is long hair. My hair is shoulder length & is quite full and can be worn in a variety of styles.
@@marilynbrown5274 There are certain women who do look amazing in short hair. Dramatic beauties like Annie Lennox, a short hair style really focuses on one's face. Of course, one has to be skillful in handling makeup too. If one thinks of a classic Marilyn Monroe look, most of her hair styles were definitely on the shorter range. Personally, I prefer a long bob to shoulder length hair. Due to changes in hormonal health as we age, its more difficult to have very long hair due to hair fragility. I take all kinds of herbs & my air is fairly thick but I keep my hair well trimmed at shoulder length.
I love my bright red lipsticks! Not giving them up for anyone! There has to be at least one man other than Hercule Poirot that adores women in red lipsticks. 💄💋😊
My dad always yelled at me for wearing red lipstick and/or makeup in general. I rarely wear makeup. My mom wore red lipstick. My sister always wore makeup. The problem was that I rarely wore makeup and when I did, it was noticeable to him. The last time he said anything was when I was in my 30s and married. I told him, "Well, my husband likes me in lipstick." He never complained again.
I love seeing my dates smile when I show up for a date. One of the hacks that I figured out after my divorce six years long ago was to buy date clothes in advance so I’m not stressing about what to wear. I like keeping 3-4 date specific outfits on hand. I do wear long wings, but natural looking. I have mid length elegant nails and tasteful make up. The key is sticking to what is consistent with my style…PS. I’m a profession high heel wearer, which means that I’m over six feet tall. Men love them!
Great episode! I say dress the way you want for what you want. If you want to be warm, comfortable, stylish, attractive, invisible, do it! …and if you want a man…find out what they like. Or, just be yourself and wing it! Lots of people like to know what others find attractive.
Married 43 years in October. The ONLY things he has EVER said just wouldn’t fly were 1)too much eye makeup and 2)I had my hair dyed burgundy once. I wore a Pixie cut for about 5 years, and my dentist thought it was fabulous. I dress very simply. If it has bows, lace, too much pattern or too fussy, it bothers me. Basically, in fall and winter, it’s a black or navy turtleneck and jeans. Oh, and the big glasses. I have to have them.
My husband has admitted he absolutely hates overalls! I was shocked. Not on me specifically but in general. I don't get it, they look adorable so I still wear them but not typically if we're going out to do more than errands. Eternally a tshirt, jeans and boots girl. And androgynous styles- I wish I could pull them off! For me, getting a beautifully tailored bespoke suit would feel incredible, special, powerful. For now what's clean and cute does the job 😂 Oh when I was teaching he'd refer to my 'teacher clothes' longer jumper dresses or tunics and leggings and my general disheveled art teaching at multiple schools, schlepping looks. Oh well. At least he met me under no pretense, in a bar wearing of course a tshirt and jeans. Style evolves and looks back, my vintage pieces are mixed in the every day or just pulled out to smash styles together. It makes me happy and feel good. I've asked what he'd choose for me, but get no real response. Until then just gonna keep trying sometimes but ultimately do what I want lol
This was interesting! I know women are going to feel an aversion towards hearing “what they should do to please men” so you nailed that. I still thought it was a great video. For me I choose comfort 😂❤
Yeah, this was not meant to advise women. I would never tell anyone what they should wear. This was just a comment on what many men say they dislike…. With a humorous tone -that went over some people’s heads. 🤷🏻♀️ Stay comfy! 👍
Women constantly complain that men pay no attention to them, then in the next breath some nasty comment that lands like "screw what men like". Then women get ignored and complain. It's true that women dress to impress each other. Root cause right there.
Love your frank and respectful comment for black women wearing hair extensions. You may want to consider that black men (in fact all men then) don't want to "run their hands through a woman's hair" as not all hair even naturally grows that way, i.e.: curly hair that is tightly curled. Yet, women blessed with hair that thick and bouncy are equally attractive to men. We all know what Eurocentric beauty image the media tells all of us (men and women) we should desire and be attracted to, and for those following that doctrine, good luck with that; for the more discerning, all women types have various modes of beauty.
As a woman I don't like several things on this list either, hair extensions, super long nails, tattoos and piercings, fake eyelashes, heavy makeup, clogs, giant jewelry and glasses, all tacky and unattractive in my opinion. 🤷🏼♀️
I'll add leggings to that list. They look fabulous on some women, but many others who would look better in some other pants, slacks, or jeans wear leggings, too. Women either look great in them, or not.
@@Joan-rw2ql I don’t know everyone! There are no hard and fast rules. This is just a consensus of people I spoke to. Lol. Nobody can speak for all men or all women! You are obviously attracting men who like short hair. The ones who like long hair are dating someone else.
The thing is, no one's going to break up with you over cutting off your hair. But if long hair was part of the attraction, well, you're going to have to face the music 😆
@@stoneagedjp why? Did you sign a contract stating that you would never change anything about yourself in the length of this partnership? Put that book down and get to the gym!
@@CoffeewithCarey Hahaha. Yeah, but if I change something, and she has something to say about it, I can take it. (As for the gym, I'm the consummate gym rat, so only if I quit will she get me there.)
My husband told me that he preferred me with short hair. I was always trying to grow it out, but it was very thin. So I wore it short. As I aged and my hair turned stark white, it started to grow long a lush. I know, not a common story. Anyway, now that it's long, he constantly tells me how gorgeous my hair is. Funny how he "preferences" changed. 😅
Men like the *idea* of long hair & "no makeup" It's a youthful indicator. But once you're in your 4th or 5th decade....probably not. What they mean is they prefer makeup that doesn't look like makeup & hair that isn't over coiffed. They say they want low maintenance girls but always find high maintenance(styled) women attractive. Probably differs by age group. I think younger guys are more accepting of edgy or alternative street style where older guys might prefer more tradionally feminine styles. It's always weird when a guy who was initially attracted to you (presumably liked your presentation) suddenly starts criticizing how you look/dress. Big red flag.
Thank you for this. It confirms that I'm pretty much on target. I dress according to my own expression, comfort, and actual lifestyle, but also to attract the right kind of men. Can't help them with the hair thing; I'm really enjoying having it short. Oh well.
What! Are women supposed to be attractive to men or always worrying about that men like them? There is a lot more to life than being attractive to men. Women must wear and do what is confortable to them. The number one person in a woman's life should be herself.
Glasses fashions are something that seems to flip flop every generation or so. My Mom wore big, plastic frame glasses when I was growing up. When I needed glasses at 19, she recommended the same and my first glasses were like that. However, my friends were all wearing small, wire framed glasses. I will quote a very good salesperson at the optometrist: "Glasses are jewelry you wear every day." So I bought my small, wire frames. My mother said they looked like "old lady" glasses because that's what my grandmother wore. 20-30 years later, younger women are wearing my Mom's glasses styles. I'm still buying petite wire frames. I think they look old in their big, plastic glasses. They think I look old in my little wire glasses.
You’re right that there are trends in most everything that is fashion, and glasses definitely make a fashion statement. But like everything in fashion, we’re not required to follow trends. Find your own style and embrace it. 🤎
Guess I’m the only one here who clicked because I love dressing for my husband every day 🥰😍 I also love when he buys me clothes and accessories that he will like on me.
I think harem pants are returning. I'm not a fan of them myself, but I've seen them around a lot lately and especially on women. And I love bows on blouses and frills and lace on blouses. The French 18th cent style. that's my jam.
@@CoffeewithCarey since elementary school and my first communion when there was some gorggette material left over and the seamstress made me the most beautiful white blouse with an " ébouriffer" in front. It was magnificent
I am a white woman who hates it when a man runs his hands through my hair. I work hard to keep my fine hair looking nice and really don’t like a man destroying it.
Yes, My boyfriend has a comment about everything i wear, and he even checks out women too, which hurts , i asked him why he looks at other women ,and his answer is ... I like looking at beautiful women ... Well what am I ???? So im done , men are a waste of time .
Men will be men, and to be honest - that's what we like about them. If they were like women - not so much, right? I bet you look at other men and appreciate how they're build or the looks, etc - you may just be more discreet and not do it while he's observing you...
So you want him to stop looking at other women? How do you propose to do that? blinders or just gouge his eyeballs out? Lol I’m going to suggest you check in on, take stock of, and perhaps work on self-esteem because those of us who very confident have no problems with our men looking and talking to other women. Committed men are still human. Some of us don’t even mind harmless flirting. I certainly wouldn’t want anyone monitoring whom I choose to look at or talk to! I would not stay partnered to any man that was that insecure! Something to think about…
I dunno. I don't think the comment the poster put was very nice. It sounded mean. I think we all have different boundaries of what we like and some people really don't have wandering eyes. People are different and that includes the way they look at others. I think you should just leave. Because it won't change. There's no point in arguing with a man. Just like there no point in a man trying to control and argue with a woman. Adults have the ability to understand and the freedom to choose.. For example some man get upset when their girlfriend posts sexy pictures or has a revealing clothes. But he is fine looking at other women who do the same thing and that's what attracted him to his woman. I would say he need to either except or leave and not do double standards. So there no point in staying if you value different things.. I think it's worse trying to force and pretend. Not every man feels the need to look around and some men are very attached to their partners just like some women don't look around and get very attached. I think best to find someone who agrees on certain key points rather than trying to force snd argue with an adult with free agency. Just like you aren't in control of him, he isn't in control of you so you don't have to stay. Also when two people disagree it just festers and blows up when they get mad or they hold it against the person. But if you don't leave at least find ways to have peace of mind start dressing for yourself and do things you like and go to places where people appreciate you.. I also don't think you are in a good relationship because you said he puts down what you do and comments on what you wear so he might be trying to break you down and neg you so you won't leave. Some men like to that to control the woman so she won't leave and takes his treatment.. she will try hard to please him without thinking if he is worth pleasing at all. That parts makes it sound like he doesn't care about you..and even after telling him how you feels he tries to minimize or deflect. But he is aware what he does is hurtful to you so it just sounds really sad. ☹️
Unless he is making your life better in some way then there really is no point in being all sad over him.. that's what I learned from Shera. Don't die an unhappy woman.
Interesting that you’ve never heard a man say he likes short hair on a woman, I’m in my late sixties and made the decision to no longer date( too much stress and drama) but the last 2 men I dated both preferred short hair on me and one of them actually said “ the shorter the better “ BTW now my hair is to my waist Lol and I have a new friend who would like to be more than friends but I choose to keep it on a friendship level actually loves my long hair ( and he is also only 40) it varies so much from man to man
I'm not a man, but I hate short hair and shoulder pads with passion. Short hair DOES need a lot of maintenance, and too big shoulder pads are just ugly.
Yes, short hair does require a lot of maintenance, and one little hair out of place can ruin the whole style. Longer hair is easier to put in an updo. I don't hate short hair. A lot of women look great in it. I just don't happen to be one of them.
My husband prefers me in short hair. He beams when I receive compliments from complete strangers. It’s a short in back, spiky top and sides. and long bangs haircut. I call it my funky old lady vibe. Once an older male store clerk complimented my haircut. I said, “I want my husband to look at me and say, ‘She is the best f-ing (yes, I used the word) decision I ever made.’ His reply,”Lady, I think you are rocking it.”
Men generally are attracted to confident women. Wear what makes you feel confident. Although a lot of guys may prefer long hair on women, or low waisted pants, sometimes this is just code for/ they just prefer younger women. Long hair on some older women is very aging. Rock your age whatever it is!
The most shocking compliment I ever recieved. I was wearing a full length white skirt the floor, a light blue muscle shirt with a white cover that you could see hints of the shirt underneath with cute brown flats. The man said to me "seeing you walk over here in that outfit is the most irrotic thing I have ever seen." I was shocked.
Before we were married, my husband asked me to never color my hair, especially when it turns grey, or try to look younger than I actually am. His mother was obsessed with fighting her age and he was embarrassed by it.
@@CoffeewithCarey I think the issue was that her attempts to remain young looking only made her look cheap. At some point, mini skits and crop tops need to be retired. The same goes for hair dye and harsh make-up. I think he was traumatized by her failed attempt to look like his sister rather than his mother.
I don’t care what other women think of what I’m wearing, and I never have. It’s about how comfortable I am that concerns me. I’m almost always dressed better than anyone I come across anywhere.
@@CoffeewithCarey No Ma’am I do not, except at home to exercise or mow the lawn. When I step outside, I am always far more polished than your appearance in this video.
Dress for yourself. As for men - it depends on where you are in life and what your goal is. If you want to attract a man, dress to attract him and the kind of man he is. Frankly, I don't see any point in dressing for other women and I don't know women who do that. Most women dress for themselves, for men, or for a job.
I think the short hair thing is because to men visually it makes them think of another man. Long hair emphasizes the sex difference between men and women. Not all of us can wear it though esp as we grow older. I think it's about trying to emphasize femininity visually in other ways, if it matters to someone.
@@CoffeewithCarey Well, it seems obvious but....I guess maybe it isn't so obvious to some people now. People are very confused these days and a lot live in denial, especially about biology.
I definitely love long hair on a woman because I love the feel of it as I run my hands through it, but at the same time I don't blame women who don't want all the upkeep, especially if the hair also happens to be thick. I also love a light perfume on a lady but it's not a dealbreaker for me.
HUGE fan of short hair on women, especially as they age: It makes their necks look longer, which brings more light into their faces. And on heavier women, unless it's really well styled, long hair can make them look stubby, and it all but smothers any interesting accessories (earrings, mainly) they've got going on. I wish more American women had style and dress sense. The default style of "casual" (i.e., hoodies, sweatshirts, other kinds of pullovers) in blocky, dark, solid colors is evidently hard to grow out of. It seems to be the reason very few American women age into anything like an elegant phase. They just keep dressing like progressively bunchier, shrunken versions of themselves at 20. I just can't imagine an Italian or Spanish woman not knowing how to put together a few simple, fitted pieces, smartly accessorized and tied together with a good bag and great shoes.
Just remember that your experience is based on your experience. You don’t know all women so we’ll have to be careful to not make general statements. I have quite a few extremely fashionable friends. I am the casual leggings and hoodie kind of gal, but they choose to dress beautifully much more often so you’re definitely not talking about my friend group. You’re talking about people around you. I just like to remind people of that.
I'm going to make this a separate question - directly for the men to answer. I get the hair extension and wig thing. And the long(er) hair. >>> I have a question about the hair color though - what do you men prefer? Tastefully colored hair or natural gracefully aging gray/white?
If an older women is still in shape and is graceful long grey hair can look great, it's the short grey hairstyle that says " I've given up" that ages a women. As far as length, some women suit short hair but personally I prefer long as it looks more feminine and we are naturally attracted to our opposite, having said that my wife had long hair which I loved , until she got cancer and lost it due to chemo ,when it grew back and she finally took her hat off, the short hair really suited her ( many others commented the same). She just had a look that suited it. No many can get away with that though.
Medium length hair but on the shorter end. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but I wear a more elegant version of a “ponytail”. It’s a classic, and so am I as I’m in my 60’s.
Thanks for the advice. Very interesting. On the same token....i just dont care. I would rather have the freedom to express myself via fashion and makeup then be concerned what people think of me.
I wear high-waited jeans and pants because it helps to minimize my tummy, but with a top over the waist. No guy can tell what the waist of my pants are, and I don't know any who would notice.

Oh yeah

Funny how he "preferences" changed. 😅
How lucky are you! ☺️
I agree with everything you said! That’s rare for me. Lol.
Thank you for this. It confirms that I'm pretty much on target. I dress according to my own expression, comfort, and actual lifestyle, but also to attract the right kind of men. Can't help them with the hair thing; I'm really enjoying having it short. Oh well.
Glad you’re feeling good! These weren’t rules. Just the taste of the majority. 🤷🏻♀️😎
I have a buzz cut and I get so many compliments. Lucky for me my hubby loves my short hair but even if he didn't, I wear my hair for me and I love it.

What! Are women supposed to be attractive to men or always worrying about that men like them? There is a lot more to life than being attractive to men. Women must wear and do what is confortable to them. The number one person in a woman's life should be herself.
Yeah, I am fairly certain that was not at all the message in this episode.
Glasses fashions are something that seems to flip flop every generation or so.
My Mom wore big, plastic frame glasses when I was growing up. When I needed glasses at 19, she recommended the same and my first glasses were like that. However, my friends were all wearing small, wire framed glasses. I will quote a very good salesperson at the optometrist: "Glasses are jewelry you wear every day."
So I bought my small, wire frames.
Whatever works for YOU!
But yes, nobody else has shared your opinion. 🤎

I think harem pants are returning. I'm not a fan of them myself, but I've seen them around a lot lately and especially on women. And I love bows on blouses and frills and lace on blouses. The French 18th cent style. that's my jam.
And I for one think that’s fantastic. I could never pull those things off, but I love that you enjoy them and can!

You deserve better than him.
Interesting that you’ve never heard a man say he likes short hair on a woman, I’m in my late sixties and made the decision to no longer date( too much stress and drama) but the last 2 men I dated both preferred short hair on me and one of them actually said “ the shorter the better “ BTW now my hair is to my waist Lol and I have a new friend who would like to be more than friends but I choose to keep it on a friendship level actually loves my long hair ( and he is also only 40) it varies so much from man to man
Of course it does! I was speaking in broad generalities. If it fell under the term “most men” I went with it. 😀👍
I'm not a man, but I hate short hair and shoulder pads with passion. Short hair DOES need a lot of maintenance, and too big shoulder pads are just ugly.
Thanks for sharing your opinions
Yes, short hair does require a lot of maintenance, and one little hair out of place can ruin the whole style. Longer hair is easier to put in an updo. I don't hate short hair. A lot of women look great in it. I just don't happen to be one of them.
I frickin LOVE wearing whatever I like and not giving a damn what men think 😂

My husband prefers me in short hair. He beams when I receive compliments from complete strangers. It’s a short in back, spiky top and sides. and long bangs haircut. I call it my funky old lady vibe. Once an older male store clerk complimented my haircut. Men generally are attracted to confident women. Wear what makes you feel confident. Although a lot of guys may prefer long hair on women, or low waisted pants, sometimes this is just code for/ they just prefer younger women. Long hair on some older women is very aging. Rock your age whatever it is!
👍
The most shocking compliment I ever recieved. I was wearing a full length white skirt the floor, a light blue muscle shirt with a white cover that you could see hints of the shirt underneath with cute brown flats. Before we were married, my husband asked me to never color my hair, especially when it turns grey, or try to look younger than I actually am. His mother was obsessed with fighting her age and he was embarrassed by it.
He was traumatized by her anti-aging? Interesting.

I think it depends on someone’s figure
Dress for yourself. As for men - it depends on where you are in life and what your goal is. If you want to attract a man, dress to attract him and the kind of man he is. Frankly, I don't see any point in dressing for other women and I don't know women who do that. Most women dress for themselves, for men, or for a job.
Just because you don’t know any or haven’t had that conversation to know that doesn’t mean it’s not true. Do what makes you feel best!🤎

@@looloo4029 then you should buy all means be wearing them!
I think the short hair thing is because to men visually it makes them think of another man. Long hair emphasizes the sex difference between men and women. Not all of us can wear it though esp as we grow older. I think it's about trying to emphasize femininity visually in other ways, if it matters to someone.
Of course men are going to be attracted to things that are feminine. I think that probably goes without saying but thank you for saying it! ;-)

If a man does not like the way you look ,he will not talk to you ,
Lol. Thats not true. It may be true of you, but it’s certainly not true of all men. So you’re gonna have to speak for yourself.

I'm going to make this a separate question - directly for the men to answer. I get the hair extension and wig thing. And the long(er) hair.
>>> I have a question about the hair color though - what do you men prefer? Tastefully colored hair or natural gracefully aging gray/white?
I couldn’t possibly guess because I have never asked. But i have a sneaking suspicion…
@@CoffeewithCarey ... not helpful... What's your take?
Anything but blue (and what it represents) But to answer your question, tastefully coloured for me.
